Nice hotel allowing control of room temperaturePosted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: The hotel provides a computer terminal in the lobby where you may check your e-mails, etc.
Cons: The room does not have a safe. You have to use the ones available at Reception, but there was no problem. The staff was always cooperative.
Location: I did not have the time to explore the vicinity of the hotel, but it seems to be very secure. I always boarded the bus at the corner.
Out of the five hotels I stayed in Italy during the month of October, Hotel Fenix was the only one where I could actually control the temperature of my room. The bus stop is at the corner, one minute away from the hotel. You may board bus #90 (Express) and after about 14 minutes you are at Termini Station (Train and Metro). Very convenient. From Termini you board bus 90 and step down at the sixth stop (Nomentana/Gorizia) and the Hotel is just across the street at the corner. The breakfast was very good. The muffins (blueberry and chocolate) were excellent. At this hotel you may actually eat the bacon, which is cooked. At other hotels the bacon is always half-cooked. My only complaint is that the juices are all acid: grapefruit, orange, and pineapple. For those of us who cannot drink acid juices, there were no other choices. The staff were courteous and friendly. If I return to Rome, I would definitely stay at Hotel Fenix. I believe the rooms are sound proof, because one morning I stepped into the hall and I heard the TV from my neighboring room. Inside my room I heard no noise from my neighbor.

Close to city metro and bus stopsPosted Oct 26, 2013
Pros: Hotel ambience, English speaking staff All the staff were lovely, friendly and helpful Clean rooms Shops, restaurants, metro, and buses close by
Cons: The rooms with Roman blinds should have double glazing to block out road noise - all the rooms should be quiet so the guests can sleep at night.
Location: San Marino restaurant is a ten minute walk serving the most delicious lasagne and pasta Bus express 90 stops right outside the hotel Metro close by
The staff were extremely helpful & friendly throughout our stay. They moved our room when requested as the first room was very noisy - they couldn't have been more helpful. We were given a map of the city & bus details on arrival which proved invaluable. Breakfast was lovely too. We were able to store our luggage on the final day while we waited for our taxi back to the airport. The reception staff even helped us to call the Italian company dealing with our return to the airport. Fabulous.

Very good hotelPosted Oct 8, 2013
The hotel itself was good but the quality of the room we stayed in was excellent..definitely worth it's price. The location from the city was not bad either, about a 15min bus ride to the centre. I was pleasantly surprised by the hotels location itself, it's in a quiter, safer area and had some good restaurants close by aswell.

Fenix hotelPosted Sep 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
Overal it was an ok hotel, but I guess there is big difference between 3 star hotel in italy and US. So drop a star if you are comparing to US hotels. Pros: it is close to bus station to get to the city center. It had a good breakfast. Nice garden. WiFi was good. Cons: Bed was uncomfortable and was making noises. There was mold on the shower ceiling.

It's ok.Posted Aug 6, 2013
The room is tiny, but clear. Breakfast is good. The location is a little bit far from termini. Also they will charge you the foreign client tax fee for 3 euro each day.

Great service, although not the best locationPosted Jul 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel in general was very nice, recommended if you don’t mind a bit of walk to transportation. PRO: Hotel environment was satisfactory. (Free in-room wifi with a fair speed; Hair-dryer, shampoo, shower gel, body lotion all available in the washroom) Excellent service by the staff (Very willing to help in fixing issue, provide map and suggestion how to walk to places, provide adaptor converting between Italian-Europe style) Good breakfast (Many varieties of food, such as scramble eggs, ham & cheese, varieties of bread, fruits, juice, coffee & tea, etc.) CON: Room a bit small (Air Con not working on the first night, but hotel managed to fix it on the next day and works for the rest of my stay) Location a bit far (Takes around 10-15min walk to metro, but once you get to metro only few stops to city-center of Rome)

Good dealPosted Jul 16, 2013
Pros: Quiet location, excellent breakfast.
Cons: Air conditioning didn't work or worked for short period of time.
The hotel is located outside main tourist area; however, it is very close to the bus station.

Looks like a boutique hotelPosted Jun 19, 2013
Cons: Put a more modern and large TV in the room
Location: It is a bit far from the historic city center and the nearest metro station. There are not many things to do in the neighborhood where is located
Although the hotel looks like a boutique hotel in the public areas and lobby, the room was a bit old but still comfortable. It is a bit far from the historic city center and the nearest metro station
