Ideal location, but far from the madding crowd.Posted Dec 9, 2013
Pros: See above. We would stay here again to be able to walk to everything in this part of Rome. Again, very able staff in a well done building .
Cons: A few paint chips.
Location: Really, look at the map. This is a super location.
Great location and really good four star plus hotel. Generous room, with a view of a temple, with space for all our stuff a la a five star. Staff was top notch, including help with a small medical issue. The restaurant was quite good and a slight change from the good ones in Trastevere.

Super friendly staffPosted Nov 26, 2013
Pros: Location, staff, rooms
Location: Collisseum (10 mins walk) Spanish Steps (25 mins walk), Pantheon (15-20 mins walk)
Check in experience was flawless. The girl on check-in was extremely friendly and efficient, and arranged for our bags to be taken to our room. Room quality and cleanliness was excellent - we didn't spend much time in the hotel other than for sleeping, choosing to leave early to explore Rome on both days that we were there. However, I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. Location is pretty good - 10 minutes walk to the Collisseum and a short taxi ride to the termini for those arriving by train from the airport. Spanish steps, Pantheon etc are all within 25 minutes walking distance from the hotel. The Vatican is about 10 euros in a taxi. The hotel can order taxis, and they literally arrive in 3 or 4 minutes. An excellent hotel in an excellent location. .

Pros: As above
Location: as above.
Excellent hotel; very helpful staff. The room and public areas are very tastefully decorated. Breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice. The hotel is situated in the Centro Storico, where all the excavations are visible. It's about 15 minutes walk from the Colloseum and about 10 minutes from the Vittorio Emanuele. There are various bus stops just outside. If we visit Rome again we shall definitely stay there. We eat one evening in the roof top Restaurant where the food was delicious and of a very high standard.

My new go-to hotel in Rome for tourism and workPosted Nov 21, 2013
Pros: Basically, everything: staff, location, rooms, dinner at the roof top restaurant, breakfast, atmosphere, art, and staff again!
Cons: My only complaint is that the traffic noise can be quite loud in the morning rush hour. Closing the dark blinds helps with this though.
Location: See above: the hotel is right next to some of the key attractions in Rome: Roman Forum, Circus Maximus, and Trastevere.
Fourtyseven is a wonderful hotel I would gladly recommend to visitors to Rome. The hotel is great on pretty much all the important dimensions: the rooms, overall facilities, location, food, and the staff. The location is superb for easily accessing some of the main historic sites, including Roman Forum (right next to it), Circus Maximus (right next to it). Trestevere with its wonderful restaurants and urban environment is a short walk (5 min) across the river. I walked to Pantheon, the Vatican, and Spanish steps --a long walk but doable for those enjoying a stroll in a beautiful city. For work travelers, UN FAO is within a less than a 10 minute pleasant walk along Circus Maximus. The hotel is modern, the rooms are nice and well equipped, everything is nice and clean. My room was spacious and offered a view to some of the historic sites right next to the hotel. The breakfast is wonderful and rich, with lots of options and plenty of food to carry you through the first part of the day. The staff is great and I could not ask for better and happier service. This applied to the front desk and all the other staff. I traveled to Rome for work and the staff was extremely helpful in making my stay personally pleasant but also productive work-wise. For example, I readily received help with printing when needed. I mixed up some of my reservation dates and the hotel readily helped with adjusting the dates without additional charges. The hotel is small and atmosphere intimate. Loved it.

Perfect City BreakPosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: The friendliness and professionalism of all the hotel staff
Cons: Coffee making facility in the room would have been very welcome and very much appreciated.
Location: Within walking distance of most of the major sites, a lovely walk along the river to The Vatican City took us about 30 minutes.
Just returned from a city break in Rome and a fabulous stay at Fortyseven Hotel. We chose the hotel after reading the superb reviews on Expedia and we were certainly not disappointed. Everything was first class from the moment we stepped out of the minicab. The hotel is in a good location and the staff were superb. Check-in was smooth and quick we were given advice on visitor sites and a map showing the location of the main areas. Our room was large, very comfortable, and very well appointed with a luxurious bathroom. Breakfast offered an excellent selection and was delicious and plentiful. The hotel is ideally placed for all the visitor sites in Rome.
