“Good start on the way south from Rome”

We came very late as we had a late arrival from Fumicino airport. We wanted to start our way down to Sorrento from Rome and so decided to stay the night at the G Hotel. The hotel is great fpr this purpose, as we needed a good night sleep and then a big breakfast. It was one if the best breakfasts we had on our Italy trip. wi-fi + free parking included.

“Nice Hotel but COMMUTE!!”

The only drawback I would say is COMMUTE... Gosh! this has only a specific route bus to stop near this hotel and the last one is around 8:45pm from the Laurentina... from 9pm the same route bus is Express so they will not stop there... Apparently, we were to lucky to have someone talk in English as much as he can and explain to the driver on the Express we were in one night to stop at G hotel... It was really a pain to explain although the driver was considerate to stop despite driving a Xpress!! Also, it is far away from Laurentina - about 30 mins commute and there is a bus every 15-30 mins - you lose typically 1-hr to 2-hrs in commute. Other than that, hotel is cool, bang for the buck. one thing we learned is the hotel rooms are compact and shower is all the more... well, it was a different experience to see such economical and/or compact rooms unlike in USA... :)... The Tiramisu at the G hotel was AWESOME!! We stayed 3 nights and had 3 Tiramisus!! ;-)

“Great Hotel, Bad Location”

The hotel was great for the money. I believe they could of had more services to accomidate toursist, like a shuttle or bus transfers, even tickets for the underground would have been great. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel however there are no signs to tell you that. Overall I enjoyed my trip to Rome and learned how to adapt and overcome.

“Not Impressed”

I would not recommend this hotel to anybody because it is too far away from the metro and bus station. The walk to the bus stop exposes you to the danger of oncoming traffic. The area where you catch the bus is littered with debris and weeds. I asked the hotel clerk for a taxi telephone number and was told that they would make the call. They quoted me a price and when we got to the airport the taxi driver said it was 15 Euros more than what they had quoted me. I explained to him that his price was 15 Euros more than what the hotel had quoted but he would not accept it. This is not an acceptable way to do business.

“Nice hotel.....if you dont want to go outside.”

The hotel is really nice inside. Everything is clean and very contemporary. The staff was very helpful and polite. The only downside was the location. Its right on the side of the highway and there is NOTHING AT ALL TO DO around there. Its located in an industrial area, around factories. There is a tiny diner outside the hotelm and thats about it. If you dont want to leave the hotel at all, its a nice place. Other than that, stay in Rome.
