Great boutique hotel for couples.

We would highly recommend this very stylish, boutique hotel in Rome! The location was perfect and we could walk to most everything. The breakfast and cocktail area was lovely and we got excellent advice about where to have dinner each night from the staff there. Our only complaint was that the ceiling in our top, attic type room came down so low on one side that we would occasionally hit our heads on the ceiling beam. We would probably pick another room next time, but we still LOVED the hotel and would definitely stay there again!

Modern and Comfortable at a Fair Price

Very cute boutique hotel about 1/2 block from Piazza Navona. Modern and comfortable with contemporary design. The staff was very accomodating. The room was spacious, and unlike so many European hotels, so was the bathroom. There is an adorable sitting room on the second floor that provides complimentary coffee/espresso and breakfast in the morning and drinks and snacks in the afternoon. The hotel only has six rooms so it is very intimate and overlooks a tiny passageway. We found that taxi drivers don't really know the name of the tiny street so if you direct them to the north end of Piazza Navona, you can walk across the street and down the little alleyway to the entrance from there. The only downside is the loud groups on their way to and from Piazza Navona can be heard if you leave the windows open at night. I would definitely return.

Small yet, Amazing little hide away...

My husband & I had an amazing stay @ this little hotel. It is very small (6 rooms)and personal. Very centrally located, the staff was helpful, taxi stand was close and the open bar was a plus. The hotel was like new and very up to date. Be cautious of the room descriptions on Hotels.com versus the actual hotels website if you are particular in the room you wish to stay in...this was the only hiccup we had. The decor of the rooms is as fabulous as the pictures if not better..Enjoy :)

Gigli changed my mind for the better about Rome.
Posted Jan 13, 2012
Pros: Spacious clean clean and can make tea in my room and space and clean
Cons: No Internet access
Location: Both locations Gigli d'Oro and San Carlo suites have their advantage but very different
When I arrived they asked me to consider their other suites simply because my daughter was 10 and too big for a double room - I had read bad things about Rome hotels shifting you- yet the other suites were lovely and very spacious and clean near the Spanish steps and a taxi rank and shopping- the area of Gigli d'Oro was more ancient and more what we wanted but the bigger room in the end was a bonus- they were helpful - only negative was the Internet-Skype-Concierge and no actual free Internet access at all- that was frustrating. One other problem was when some other guests woke me up asking for help at 4.30am as they could not get the Internet after hours concierge - but that was their issue- the staff were lovely and helpful during daylight hours.
