“Gioberti hotel satisfaction”
Nice place to stay with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms could be larger and better equiped but hotel location is worthy of staying in this hotel.
“Not impressed”
No wifi, small elevators, when I booked they had an option of regular or super breakfast I bought the super breakfast there is no such thing it is all the same I paid extra money for nothing. Some of the front desk staff were not friendly at all and very aggressive. I would not go to this hotel again
“it was everything i'd hope it would be - thanks expedia for the recommendation”
i was very satisfied with this hotel; it was clean, centrally located near termini, i enjoyed a superb breakfast, cool room and excellent housekeeping. no complaints during my 7 night stay here.
“Quality hotel, fantastic location”
Stayed for two nights in Rome before traveling throughout Europe and this hotel was a great choice. It's located right next to the train station which was great for travel during the day. The hotel was clean, the breakfast was sufficient, and the air condition was a huge plus. Caveat emptor: do not take a cab from the airport to the hotel, though, because it is very expensive. I think there's a shuttle bus or other means of cheaper transport.
“So, so Hotel, but very good Breakfast”
The biggest complaint about this hotel is the bathroom. The showers are way too small. The curtain sticks to the body during the shower. There's periodically bad air coming from the bathroom - somehow the air is being sucked in from the neighbors or something. The hotel is conveniently located to the metro and central bus system. The continental breakfast is really good. We ate three mornings and all three of them were really good.
“Clean, Convenient, Gross Breakfast, Outrageously Expensive Internet”
Hotel Gioberti is less than a block from the Termini train/metro station. It's a VERY convenient location in terms of access to transportation. The surrounding neighborhood is just OK... I didn't find anywhere decent to eat or anything else to do nearby. The continental breakfast at the hotel is truly disgusting. They usually are, but this one's really exceptionally gross. If you need to use the Internet consider staying somewhere else. Though "Internet" is included, this is just a WebTV-like service on the TV that was *out of service* during my entire stay. WIFI is ridiculously priced. Expedia forbids "specific rates" in reviews. Very well: let me just say that it would have been worth it for me to pay ten to fifteen euros more per night for a comparable hotel that included free wifi. The hotel is clean and the bed uncomfortable. That's about it.
“Adequate”
We were staying in Rome a few days before our cruise and chose this hotel due to its proximity to the train station. It was one block away. Very convenient if you will be using the express train to Rome from the airport. We weren't able to check in when we arrived because we were early but they held our bags for us and we set out site seeing right away. Our bags were in our room when we finally got back to the hotel. We were told that this was not the best neighborhood but it was fine. Very busy but we felt perfectly safe walking around at night. Plenty of places to eat. The hotel was clean and the complimentary breakfast was more than sufficient. Not a 4 star hotel per US standards but ok. The staff spoke English which was helpful and were very curteous. The only complaint would be the hardness of the beds. It didn't bother me but if you like soft beds, you won't like these but they may not all be like ours were.
“Great beginning to a new adventure”
When the taxi driver approached us, we knew from our internet research we won't require his services, but took advantage of his offer to ask if he knew where the Hotel was. when he said four blocks, we mistakenly thought he meant in a straight line in the direction we were heading, after walking in a grid for what felt like miles, we discovered it was three blocks up the street and one block to our left. Very close to the train station, the bus terminal and the subway which afforded easy access to many of the sites we all travel there to see. The hotel was clean and well maintained, the staff, friendly and helpful (many of whom spoke English), breakfast was what could be described as continental, Italian style, the beds were firm (which, from our travels could only be classified as normal) and besides wanting to personally inform travelers that Italy has passed a law prohibiting smoking inside all buildings with a penalty of fines (there really are no designated smoking rooms), I would definitely recommend this hotel to travelers.
“Valentine's Day in Rome”
This hotel was a wonderful value. Located near the train station, we were convenient to all transportation. Excellent breakfast. The front desk staff was extremely helpful.
“Gioberti Hotel, Rome”
Hotel had a very friendly staff most of whom spoke English as well as Italian. The breakfast was very good, and maid service prompt. The hotel is located a short block from the Central Railroad depot. Trains, as well as subways and buses were all at the depot and we took them everywhere. The area is marginal and you have to be on the alert. Also, we were short changed more than once at concessions at the train depot. As an aside, we took an Airport Shuttle (a large clean bus) from Leonardo da Vinci Airport to the Central Terminal and walked to the hotel. The fare was eight Euros one way, a boon for budget travelers.
