On a envie d'y revenir..

街中より少し離れている、落ち着いたバカンスもできるホテル。Posted Dec 13, 2014

Great hotel, close to the VaticanPosted Dec 3, 2014
Location: 5-10 minute walk to the Vatican, you could actually see it from out bedroom wondow
Hotel is just over the river, slightly out of the city centre but very close to the Vatican. You can walk to the centre of Rome in around 20 minutes, we found it nice to be away from the centre as it seems very noisy with lots and lots of traffic and everyone honking their horns !! staff where very friendy room was small but very clean and very nicely decorated

Honeymoon in RomePosted Nov 26, 2014
My husband and I recently took our honeymoon in Rome and we couldn't have picked a better place than Gran Melia. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. They even went out of their way to surprise us with champagne one evening to celebrate our recent marriage. If we ever visit Rome again, we'll sure to plan our trip so that we stay at the Gran Melia again.

Lovely Hotel,Posted Nov 24, 2014
I had booked the hotel as a surprise 60th birthday treat for my husband. It was wonderful. Apart from confusion over our already included/ paid for breakfast it was perfect. That was soon sorted out and reimbursed. The room was quite small too. The staff were lovely, helpful, very professional and friendly

Oasis in Rome near St. Peter's, VaticanPosted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: Grounds, location, service, rooms, quiet, and feeling of luxury
Cons: Had one small cleaning problem otherwise awesome. Breakfast pricey.
Location: About 1/2 mi to St Peter's and 3/4 mi to Vatican entrance. We walked everywhere else and were able to walk to Colosseum,Forum, Pantheon, Trevi.
The Gan Melia loved the Red glove Service and the menu of pillows and the turn down with rose petals and size of room and shower and bathroom facilities, Floor, sinks, glass in shower spotless. Missed Back tile wall for cleaning. Huge soaking tub beautiful could have rinsed cleaning soap off better. Grounds are amazing.Staff are very helpful with directions and maps. Upgraded room for our anniversary. View of courtyard garden. Would stay there again in a heartbeat. Feels very luxurious.Didn't have time to use pool but looked very clean edges like infinity pool. Quick taxi service from staff to call to arrival about 5-10 min , transport from hotel to airport, worth no hassle departure.

Secret find with a city view nearbyPosted Nov 16, 2014
Pros: Quiet, good service, friendly staff. Great amenities. Restaurant food is okay.
Cons: GM offers a complimentary shuttle service into the city center, too bad the schedule is limited from 10am 12:30pm & 3p to 6:30pm.
Location: GM is 5 minutes away from the west end of the Vatican. The hotel is on a hilltop, if you walk out and turn left, there is a wonderful view of the city
The taxi driver from the train station took us to the old Melia hotel by mistake since the Gran Melia is fairly new. Beware the taxi driver charged us 50 euros from the train station when it should have been less, he did not have his meter running. The GM is nice and modern, the rooms are comfortable and roomy, the best part was the shower heads. I would recommend this resort although is was not close to the city center, at least they offer complimentary shuttle service there. On our last day, heading to the airport, we didn't know that if you turn left from the resort, within minutes was a spectacular view of Rome, wished someone on their staff would have told us.

Beautiful hotelPosted Nov 14, 2014
Pros: The staff was lovely!
Location: Coming back in the taxi, we noticed the area of Gianicolo has beautiful piazzas overlooking the city.
Gran Melia is a beautiful hotel, a little off the beaten path but located in a lovely section of the city called Gianicolo. Unfortunately, it was raining for the beginning of our trip so we couldn't enjoy the grounds as much as we would have liked. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated in a modern way keeping with traditional touches. We were traveling with our 20 year old daughter so were upgraded to a Junior Suite upon arrival. They also treated us to a welcome drink in bar while getting our bags. Our time was tight in Rome so we didn't have a chance to walk around and explore. The hotel is a little far from most of the sites so we had to take taxis most places. With more time, we might have walked more to some of the sites. They did offer a shuttle bus into the town center which made it convenient. There is a gym and spa at the hotel which is a nice bonus but we didn't have time to enjoy.
