“Somewhere to sleep but not to eat...”
Hotel was good, front desk staff could gossip less and be more customer service focused. Our room was nice, clean and airy. The housekeeping staff did a great job while we were there. However the restaurant didn't live up to hotel's 4 star rating. Some of the staff were observed making fun of diners and the food was very very average and overpriced, some of it looked like it was reheated 2 or 3 times.
“First choice in Rome”
The hotel is high in standard and it exceeds my expectation. The quality of the room is extraordinary good. They have everything you find in a decent hotel, including a safe box, which is very convenient for sightseeing, because you don't need to carry all your valuable things while travelling. They provide very good breakfast. The coffee and orange juice are excellent. The only shortcomings are the location and no free wifi.
“It was a fine Hotel. Will not recommend to other travelers.”
The location is too far from the center of Rome. it is very inconvenient to commute back and forth every day. People works at the front desk of the hotel are not very sourceful and English is poor. The neighbors of the hotel having parties every night ( talking about 12:00AM ). We have to call the front desk to complain almost every night. It was an awful experience.
“Can find better deal”
The hotel is far away from city centre and public transport is not so good in this area. Hotel staff does not speak other language than Italian and they are not helpful. We've purchased wifi access, but it didn't work during hours and hotel staff didn't want to help us. Upon check-out we had to pay an additional tax, but we weren't informed about this by the hotel until check-out.
“Cheap Hotel”
The 4 stars of this hotel are actually 2 of a normal one. Front desk staff is slow and not so caring of clients. The worst in my opinion is the noise: people, including cleaning staff, yelling in the hallways at all times, day and night. Rooms small but clean, avoid those facing the street: even more noisy if possible. There is a permanent smell of smoke from cigarettes (my room was a not smoking one). Internet connection costs 6 Euros a day. Breakfast is really cheap. The neighborhood is nice, not close to the city center but there are a couple of buses bringing you there. Definitely you get what you pay for.
“I would definatly not go back.”
If you are planning on seeing Rome this is not the place for you. It is way out of the City Center. You have to either take a bus and a train to get into the city, or spend $15 euros each way on a taxi, if you can find one. The attitude at the front desk was like they could care less if you stayed there or not. There are a few resturants in the area, but if you are there on a Sunday, you're out of luck. They are all closed. That leaves only the hotel resturant which is average at best and expensive. The walls are pretty thin. On our floor there was someone playing a violin, and a couple fighting all night long. Hotel security didn't put a stop to it until 3:00 AM. Shop around, you can do better than this place.
“Average”
The front desk staff could have been more friendly and attentive. In classic Italian style things definitely move at a slower pace than other parts of the World. The room was clean and very average. Internet access required a passport and $6 Euro for a 24 hour period. Be careful at the Rome airport there are many transportation providers who will suggest they have the lowest rate. Always ask the hotel for the most efficient and economical method to travel from the airport to the hotel.
“Cheap & average”
Chose this hotel because it was arguably close to Stadio Olimpico (I was attending a soccer game). Relatively cheap. Front desk staff were ridiculously slow - even if you are the only person waiting, they would find a way to disregard you or talk on the phone for 5 minutes before acknowledging your presence. In my third encounter, I had to be a little rough and interrupt their conversation; after that, everything seemed to be a bit smoother. The room was very small (sounds like this is the case in most hotels there anyway) but otherwise clean. Interestingly, the cleaning people would start yelling at each other in the hallways around 6:30 am or so every morning. Italian temper? The TV had 3 programs - my brother and I were joking that they were RAI 1, RAI 2, and RAI 3. But again, who cares about TV when you are in Rome, right? The bathtub had a hole. In other words, everytime one of us tried using it, there was water flowing all over the floor. The breakfast was absolute garbage. Ate the first day; ate outside the rest of the time. Overall - average hotel - the 4 stars are a joke. Probably the equivalent of a 2-star Comfort Inn in the US. Not much to expect for this price, I guess. Hope this helps the potential visitors.
