Property Amenities
The Salone delle Feste, jewel in the crown of the Art Deco Grand Hotel Plaza, is a ballroom/banqueting/conference room that can seat 300 for dinner or 400 for a cocktail reception. Pairs of ochre-colored Doric columns hold up the Art Nouveau glass ceiling surrounded by ornate gold stucco cornices. It is lined by a marble-walled cloister and decorated with antique furniture – gilt mirrors, marble-topped tables and meter high chandeliers. Three other conference rooms – the Red Room, Yellow Room, and Green Room - lead off from the Salone delle Feste with capacity ranging from 20 to 70. Finally, there are two other conference rooms on the first floor and a business center off the lobby with a fax machine and computer terminal offering ADSL Internet access.
Guests have use in summer of the Lemon Terrace which runs entire length of the hotel, overlooking the rooftops and the Via Condotti. The walnut-paneled lobby consists of three very high-ceilinged intersecting rooms. All have patterned marble floors, clusters of red velvet antique chairs, and leather topped antique desks.
Rooms
The Grand Hotel Plaza, Rome, has 200 individually decorated rooms, all of which feature high ceilings, four-feet high, opening windows, brass Art Deco bedsteads with Italian linen sheets, oriental rugs, silk-upholstered sofas or armchairs, and black-and-white lithographs of Rome's historic sites. The spacious bathrooms have black, white, and gray marble walls and floors. All feature telephones, Sorelle Fontana toiletries, two-person tubs or power shower stalls. Rooms overlook the baroque San Carlo church, internal courtyard or the pedestrianised shopping street of Via Condotti.

Dining
Bar Bistro Mascagni - The mahogany-paneled walls and bar, frescoed ceiling, candelabras, gold-leaf cornices, tapestry wall hangings, and plush red velvet chairs offer a suitably grand setting to sample the hotel's trademark cocktail, La Dolce Vita. Alcoholic drinks, juices, teas and coffees, and bar snacks are served 12pm-3pm and 7.30pm-11pm.
Mascagni Room - Frescoes on the ceiling of 18th-century ball scenes, gold-stucco ceilings, and red velvet and mahogany chairs decorate the ornate breakfast room, adjacent to the Bar Bistro Mascagni, where an American buffet breakfast is served each morning. The Mascagni Room seats 180 and is used for pre-booked functions in the evening.

“Good Location, amazing building”
Good Location, amazing building, Breakfast very nice, but a bit weak service
“two stars are more than enough for this kind of hotels”
it was really a bad choice despite the good location , law quality of services including the reception , they don't know the meaning of good hospitality . no wonder that every body i talked to in the lobby was disappointed . i know that the building is very old but for god sake how they left the rooms in this terrible condition ? the roomservice serves the food in a primitive way , also if you asked for a tissue paper or a notepaper or even a pen , the answer is : we don't have ! one more thing ... the telephone outside line is rarely working ! one question : for what they are mentioned as a 5 stars hotel ?
“A complete ripoff”
No service, no amenities in the room, sparse furniture, very expensive: a complete ripoff
“Will never stay at this hotel again, this not a five star hotel.”
This hotel is at best a three star hotel. Rooms are small, No TV and Internet during my stay. Not a typical friendly Italian staff. I will never stay at this hotel again. Expedia should check the star rating?
“Over Priced”
The hotel was beautiful, the location was great, but the up keep of the rooms were impressive. I have stayed in less expensive hotels with much nicer rooms. This placed was extremely over priced for the quality.
“Heart of Rome”
Great location. Good service. Great shopping. Great site seeing base. Grand old hotel. Public spaces were good. Staff was accommodative and helpful. Rooms need a little work and more amenity. All in all a good place. Moved from an overrated unsafe hotel, the Morgana, to the Grand. Stay away from the Morgana, unsafe neighborhood. Paid twice to get to a hotel where your life was not in doubt. The Grand is well located, good hotel.
“Do not stay here!”
Although this historic hotel is in a prime central location, My wife and I would not recommend the hotel to anyone. This is no 5 star hotel. We had a double room for 3 nights, room 204 to be exact. The room was outdated and in our eyes obviously not well maintained. But the worst is that the room was filthy. You can see it in the corners and the floor. In the bathroom, the shower door and wall were made of flimsy fiberglass panels, not glass; the edges and corners were rusty and dirty. We tried to get another room but nothing was available. I guess you cannot just rely on star rating.
“A Faded Empress of a Hotel”
This is a faded Empress of a hotel. The public rooms are beautiful - very Belle Epoque, but the private rooms - not so much. Our room did not have any toilet papaer and we had to phone 3 times for a response. There was no mirror in the room aside from the bathroom mirror. But the sheets were lovely and the beds not too bad. The location can't be beat - you're right in the middle of everything and within walking distance of major sights. However, the male concierges were much more helpful than the female and while billed as a 5 star - or even a 4-star, this is more of a 3-star hotel but in a 5-star location. We also found a dirty cup under the bed on our last day (not ours) that had never been taken away.
“I wish I was back to morrow!”
The price is a little high but we paid for the location. Rooms nothing like the pictures on the web site
“HEart of Rome”
Everything was good but the breakfast. They had promised a full breakfast but were charging extra for eggs. The inside hall is out of this world.

Spanish Steps - Trevi Fountain, Rome, Italy: Romes largest, most spectacular fountain, the Trevi Fountain is a baroque extravaganza, its ancient sea gods and gushing water dominating a tiny piazza.
