we were there to enjoy our 25th Wed AnniversaryPosted Oct 19, 2014
Pros: it was near the city of Rome and easy to get to other places to visit and you could book relevant travel at the desk
Cons: it would be nice to be able to change pound sterling into euros - they only change dollars into euros cannot understand this -
Location: the location was fine - and it was easy to travel via the hop on hop off bus
The first room was very small for a double so we upgraded to a junior suit which was much better - tea and coffee would have been nice in the room - but all in all it was super

Excellent hotel in a very convenient areaPosted Oct 14, 2014
Staff were friendly and noticed at check-in that it was my husband's birthday; he received a complimentary bottle of prosecco! The "chef on call" innovation deserves support. We dined twice on the sixth floor with a stunning view over Rome, St Peter's included. Again there were surprises, an aperitif and a glass of limoncello to complete our delicious meals. Our room was quiet with immaculate bed linen and a spacious shower room. Astonishingly reasonable mini bar prices. Easy to walk to all the main sites and shopping areas. It was our first visit to Rome and we hope to return to the city and the Hotel Barberini soon.

Nice hotel in Rome at Barberini PlazaPosted Oct 4, 2014
Pros: Location, Restaurant with a view, the 5th floor room with a balcony. The staff members- Luca and Mattea.
Cons: Fresh pastries on the breakfast bar. Covering the pastries from the air and bugs.
Location: Across the street from the Barberini Palace and just up the street from the Triton Fountain of Barberini Plaza. Within walking distance of everything.
This is a wonderful boutique hotel. The location of the hotel is definitely a plus. The staff at The Hotel Barberini was great. Luca was helpful and courteous and Mattea always had a smile on his face. There were some staff members that weren’t as helpful, but I’ll just leave it at that. The rooftop restaurant was a plus. The breakfast buffet was full of options; pasties, meats, cheeses, cereal, eggs. I also LOVED the cappuccino. However, I would advise getting to breakfast early as the food does sit out. The BEST part of the restaurant was the view of Rome! Breathtaking. We did have one miss up, but I am happy to say that the problem was handled quickly and efficiently. We had requested a room on the 5th floor with a balcony.( I would highly recommend making that request.) However when we arrived we were put in a room on the 1st floor. While the 1st floor is a bit above street level, it was not an ideal location. Once we made the hotel aware of the problem and a 5th floor room opened up they did accommodate us. I was very happy about how everything worked out. Our 5th floor room was wonderful. While it was about the same size as the 1st floor room, it had a better layout, and the balcony was incredible! I would recommend the Hotel Barbarini if you are traveling to Rome.

Nice hotel in good locationPosted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: key system, no bedbugs, breakfast, room was very quiet - virtually no street noise
Cons: ants, shower size security twenty-something disinterested staff
Location: location at top of hill - good views, uphill climb. Very, very close to sites.
Hotel Barberini is a competitively-priced hotel very close to Trevi and Tritone fountain areas. It proved to be a good base for our recent 11 days in Rome. There are numerous attractions, restaurants & coffee shops very close by. Our room (5th floor) had a view of St. Peter's from its balcony (the balcony was < 3' wide.) The room was very small commensurate with this price point and location. The shower was the smallest I've ever used (think RV-size), probably 2' X 3'. This hotel is on a hill which offers nice views, but also long uphill walks when returning home after a day of sight-seeing. Room key system allows cleaning crew to know when you have vacated room. It was impressive how quickly the room was cleaned, bed made etc. (ie: by the time we returned from breakfast.) There were no bedbugs. There were plenty of small ants in the bathroom and bedroom. The breakfast upstairs was very nice and the staff very cordial. The hotel staff is primarily twenty year olds. So, if you like to be greeted or acknowledged as you return each day, that doesn't happen. Accordingly, security is light (ie: anyone can walk in since no one is at the front desk); however, the hotel is in a very safe area and this was never a problem. We asked for two wine glasses and a corkscrew to enjoy wine in our room. They delivered two additional disposable plastic bathroom cups and said wine glasses would be impossible. I obtained two at the restaurant upstairs on my own - not full svce.

Amazing view of Rome at breakfast!Posted Aug 8, 2014
This hotel is directly across from the Barberini Palace. It is a block from a metro station and 5-7 minutes (by foot) from a small grocery store, as well as many restaurants going towards Trevi Fountain. All the major sites are within a 20 minute or so walk. (We walk at a good pace.) The room is very clean with everything you need. All staff was very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast with amazing view. Room just the right size for me and my husband. Despite our room being street side, it was a mostly quiet street. I will definitely book here again.
