Good location and friendly service

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: The location and the staff. The bathrooms and the beds were comfortable.
Cons: Nothing.
Location: Central location near a big taxi rank. Walkable to some major sights such as the Spanish Steps and the Barberini Palace (art gallery).
Professional, friendly and helpful staff made our second stay at this hotel as excellent as the first. The location of this hotel is ideal for sightseeing in Rome.

Great hotel in a central location

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: You were treated as a returning guest for whom nothing was too much trouble, not a booking reference number.
Location: Great central location in close proximity to underground station and hop on and off bus route. Key sites are all walkable if wearing comfortable shoes
The hotel location, the air conditioning, the attentive and knowledgeable staff and the really comfortable bed all combined to ensure that my wife and I had a fantastic stay in Rome. The room in the hotel, whilst it was small, was very tastefully furnished and just to labour the point, the bed was really comfy. From the moment we arrived we felt as if we were frequent visitors to the hotel and were on our umpteenth return visit. We were given help to ensure that we were fully versed in workings of the television and the fact that the programs could be seen in English. The restaurants recommended were generally good, with one standing head and shoulders above the other recommendation. The hand written (yes, really) note from the manager that was placed in our room on our last night expressing his gratitude for having chosen their hotel, along with some very tasty biscuits, really was the icing on the cake.

Wonderful Stay and Hospitality

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: The location, the marble floors/wall and venetian plaster walls! Personal attention and a very hearty and delicious breakfast to start the day!!
Cons: Greater signage on the Main Street as the entrance is on the smaller less visible side street.
Location: I think we did all the major sites as the Hotel is close to the main train station, subway, tour bus short walk to the historical areas.
Great experience and very helpful all the staff members. Loved the uniqueness of the extension and hospitality of feeling like a member of the family for the first time visitor to Rome. The personal attention to details and the warmth of the greeting of all the associates and a personal handwritten note to welcome us and inviting us back was appreciated.

A very pleasant stay indeed!

Posted Aug 13, 2014
Pros: The hotel had an upmarket yet comfortable feel to it and was clean and shiny at all times.
Cons: The only minor detail that would have topped off our stay would have been tea/ coffee making facilities in the room.
Location: Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, National Art Gallery
We chose the Hotel Barocco for our honeymoon trip to Rome. The hotel itself is in walking distance to all the main sights and all roads seemed to lead back to it. It was also perfect for sampling different areas of evening meals; the cheaper Trevi area or the more expensive Spagna area. The room was cleaned regularly with fresh towels appearing during the day and evening. We were greeted by friendly, yet professional staff who made us feel very welcome and for whom nothing seemed too much trouble. Knowing that it was our honeymoon, they aimed to make our stay special; leaving a handwritten note and a bottle of chilled Prosecco for our arrival which was a lovely touch. They helped us to book excursions and were on hand to answer any questions that we had. All the staff; from reception to kitchen to the porters spoke very good English (excellent for us as we hadn't had time to swat up on our Italian due to the madness of wedding preparations) which put us at ease straight away. The breakfast offered plenty of choice which meant that we could fill up in the morning and then didn't really need anything more until our evening meal.
