“CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK”
THIS HOTEL IS FABULOUS. WE HAD THE BEST TIME EVER. THE HOTEL IS EXTREMELY CLEAN, THE STAFF IS VERY COURTEOUS. ANY QUESTIONS YOU ASK SUCH AS WHERE TO EAT, HOW FAR ARE THE SITES ETC., THEY GO OUT OF THE WAY TO ACCOMMODATE YOU. IT'S WALKING DISTANCE FROM THE COLUSEEUM AND DELICIOUS RESTAURANTS. CAPO D' AFRICA SERVES FULL BREAKFASTS ON THE ROOF TOP OF THE HOTEL WHICH WILL SATISFY YOUR TASTE BUDS, WHILE ENJOYING THE VIEW BEFORE VENTURING OUT FOR THE DAY.
“Wonderful place to stay”
We had a wonderful 4 night stay at this hotel. Service was excellent and the location perfect for seeing the centre of Rome on foot. We were literally two blocks from the Colosseum and yet the road the hotel was on was quiet and peaceful. When we arrived there was a complimentary bottle of Prosecco waiting for us, cooling in an ice bucket. The bed was a good size and very comfortable. Staff were extrememly friendly and helpful, and they recommended some great restaurants to us. All in all we had a wonderful and romantic stay in this fantastic city.
“Great location, confortable accommodations and friendly staff”
Centrally located, 2 blocks from the Coloseum. Rooms were small, but that's expected in Italy and especially in Rome. The rooms were of good quality, modern furnishings and very clean. I would compare it to a boutique hotel (in the US). Breakfast, which was included, was very good and situated on the top floor of the hotel with terrace views. The staff was very friendly and offered up some excellent restaurant recommendations to local family owned placed - authentic and off the tourist path. Overall, we enjoyed our stay/
“Second visit to Hotel Capo d'Africa”
Although, I still like the hotel, it wasn't as comfortable to stay at as the first time I stayed three years ago. The turn off the air conditioning between 1-5 AM to save money. The first night I didn't sleep at all due to a problem with the fan. I took multiple showers during the night to cool off. Housekeeping kept turning the fan down when they cleaned it, as a result the room didn't cool off sufficiently. The hotel fixed fan after I complained the first night. I learned to leave a note for Housekeeping to not turn down fan. So by the third night, I managed to get the temperature I needed to sleep. The other issue with the room was the lack of plugs to plug in cell-phones and camera charges. I also had a larger room and bathroom the first time I stayed at the hotel. Service is the high-point of this hotel. Everyone is super-friendly and eager to help! I may go back to the hotel, but I may also try a different one next time I'm in Rome...as opposed to after my first stay...I had a feeling of "Yes, I'm definitely coming back."
“Perfect stay in Rome!”
Capo d'Africa hotel was ideal for our four night stay in Rome. We upgraded to the deluxe room it was fairly large, very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were great, super friendly, we enjoyed a perfect stay. Breakfast was located in the garden rooftop location very beautiful. The hotel location was good with some very nice restaurants in walking distance. We would definitely stay there again.
“Tamin and Philip- Review”
Wow! All I can say is that I'm very impressed. I've learned my lesson in the past that while traveling in Europe- you don't always get what you expect. But this hotel was exactly as described and the staff was so friendly and professional. It's convenient to absolutely EVERYTHING, the food is delicious, and the rooms are great. Also, they actually have KING size beds and not 2 twin beds pushed together as often found in Europe. I will absolutely stay here again when I go back to Italy and highly recommend it to everyone who may be considering. One of the nicest hotels in Rome!
“Beautiful hotel with modern facilities and attentive, pleasant staff!”
I was pleased that the many reviews I had read of this hotel on Expedia and in my travel books were spot on! Even the facade was elegant and welcoming from the street. The neighborhood was lovely with many small street cafes nearby where we stopped for an outdoor lunch. We were within walking distance of the Colloseum and the Roman Forum. The front desk staff were helpful with taxis and directions and the cleaning staff were very courteous and did a great job. We enjoyed the rooftop breakfast with a nice selection and a wide time range to accommodate all types of travelers. The staff there too was very attentive and polite. We felt very at home at this hotel and took advantage of "hanging out" in the lobby and having a drink at the lobby bar before going out at night. Would highly recommend the Hotel Capo d'Africa.
“More ordinary than I thought”
I had booked Hotel Capo D'Africa for a long week-end in Rome, as a gift to my boyfriend on his birthday. I was therefore looking for that special something with an unforgettable charm. While the hotel was satisfactory, clean, nicely decorated, with a lovely rooftop terrace and in a quiet neighborhood within walking distance from the historical center, it lacked that special memorable character I was looking for.
“Excellent hotel”
Can't say anything bad about the hotel because nothing was. Quiet, great breakfast, clean. Front desk was very helpful.
“Great”
Hotel Capo d'Africa was an excellent base for our family to spend three days in Rome. The staff was friendly and helpful with suggestions ranging from dining options to tracking down a lost bag in the Rome airport. The rooms were well appointed and met our needs. Each room was spacious and the high ceilings and large windows made them feel larger. The location of the hotel was an excellent jumping-off point for our adventures as we started each day in the shadow of the Collesseum with a variety of transportation and walking choices. The neighborhood had a nice collection of pizzerias and street cafes. The breakfast location on the top floor was a sensational way to start the morning with the options of eating out on a large patio or inside. There was a mix of guests with those on holiday mixing with people on business but the hotel catered to both groups well.
