Pleasant hotel, on a quiet street. Central to walk

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: The location and the staff.
Cons: Beds were hard, shower very small.
Location: central, everything within walking distance, cathedral at the end of the street.
Great service, staff were very helpful in booking tours, giving directions and using the phone. Breakfast was included, and always fresh - a big plus as we found the restaurants very expensive - cappuccino's were 5 Euros a piece. Hotel was in a great location on a quiet street (the main streets are VERY noisy and busy), and we could walk to all the main tourist destinations from there. Also close to the subway for airport connections and train station for trips outside Rome.

Tiny shower

The location is perfect, many good restaurants very close. Quiet street, easy taxi access. But the shower was extremely tiny! Not enough room to bend over to was your feet.

Ideales Hotel in Stadtnähe

Posted May 15, 2015

Fabulous and centrally located

The Colosseum Hotel was perfect for our extended visit to Rome and surrounding. Centrally located, yet not on a crowded and noisy street, it allowed us to walk easily to all of the major sights from the Colosseum to the Borghese Park, from the Vatican to the Altare della Patria. All of the staff were excellent, helping us with everything and anything and always with a smile. Whether it was a Taxi for an early morning flight or directions to an obscure restaurant they were always eager to assist. Even the maids and waiting staff for breakfast were always cheerful and efficient. The room was larger than many European hotels, but naturally much smaller than American. Always kept clean, I noticed that they even washed and polished the wood floors. On the top floor, they had an open air terrace that served drinks (from 5pm to 11pm most nights) that gave you stunning views over Rome. It was always open to visit or just get some sun and relax if needed. Overall, a great experience and I would definitely revisit and stay here wen we come back to Rome.

Nice hotel, close to the station and the Colosseum

Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: Well located in a quiet street. Clean hotel with lovely rooftop terrace. Good breakfast and comfortable rooms. Staff helpful and friendly.
Cons: Water pressure on top floor. Could benefit from tea/coffee making facilities in rooms. Extended hours for breakfast would be welcomed.
Location: 10 minutes walk from Termini station and 10-15 mins from the Colosseum. Nearest metro station 5 mins walk. Plenty restaurants and shops in the area.
Had a great stay in room number 74 which had a lovely large balcony with a view of the Colosseum. Room was large with plenty of wardrobe space and drawers for clothes. Safe was too small for a laptop and no tea/ coffee making facilities in the room. Water pressure was quite slow, but probably due to being on the top floor. It was a quiet room with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was served until 9.30 in the morning and had a selection of cereals, cold meats and cheese, as well as fruit, yoghurts bread and pastries and fruit juices, tea and coffee. The hotel was a ten minute walk from Termini station and a 10-15 minute walk to the Colosseum. Also well located for restaurants, shops and a 5 minute walk from a Metro station on Via Cavour. The roof top terrace was really nice for relaxing in the good weather and there was a bar service in the evenings.
