“Perfect choice!”

We could not be happier with our stay! EVERYTHING was perfect. We stayed on the 7th floor which provided it's own balcony. Being on the street it was still a very quiet room. The morning continental breakfast was laid out beautifully and it was more than ample. VERY fresh and tasty. The ladies who served were very polite and ready to help. The desk staff is truly helpful and always friendly. We stayed 8 nights. Don't miss visiting the upper terrace and bring a bottle of wine one night. The hotel is well situated on Cavour Street. We can strongly recommend Gatto Matto as a GREAT place to eat. Try the roasted chicken with potatoes! Also if you just can't face pizza the Chinese restaurant across from Gatto Matto is EXCELLENT. The hot and sour sour is wonderful as our their other dishes. Don't hesitate to use the metro system. There is a stop on Cavour and use it to get to the attractions. You will save yourself a TON of walking. Yes it's crowed but it's a fun experience. AND dirt cheap! Our room itself had up to date plumbing and attractive bathroom and the size of the room was unexpected. A REAL value in Rome. LOTS of closet space. Firm but comfortable bed. CLEAN! 5 STARS ALL THE WAY!

“Excellent, reasonably priced hotel”

The location in terms of the distance to many places was excellent. This goes especially for the train station, Colosseum, Palatine and Santa Maria Maggiore. Even in the heat of August, walking to these sites was manageable. The rooms were in excellent condition, and you are far enough from the beaten path that the hotel is quiet. The only complaints were with the shower--luckily I am a rather thin person. However, I can see a more robust individual having a problem using the shower as both the door opening and shower itself were small--and the wall safe--hard to use a safe when they don't give you a key to lock it. The free breakfast wasn't the most amazing, but it's free, so I wouldn't expect it to be that way anyway. The rooftop deck provided excellent views, and if I was there in Spring or Fall, I would certainly spend evenings up there enjoying a glass of wine.

“Enjoyed my stay and the view!”

My bed was like sleeping on a firm bag of flour... But the bathrooms were nice and clean (Summer 2012) and the air conditioning worked well in the Roman heat! The staff were very friendly and helpful! They gave us perfect directions for using the public transportation and how to get to points of interest, including the beach :) Breakfast was very good too, not big or varied but its a free breakfast! And the coffee way very good! To us, 4 young adults, the top floor was the best part. You can see all over Rome, especially at night, and there is good seating and a water fountain. It was a nice way to hang out, see Rome, meet new people, and enjoy a bottle, or 3, of Italian wine! All in all, we were very happy especially because the rates were so low!! The Colosseum was only 10 mins walk too!

“Great Hotel”

This was a really quaint hotel in a fantastic location. The room was large with a big window that opened overlooking quiet backyards. All we could hear were birds. The common areas were beautiful -marble, wood and antique-looking furniture. There is a roof terrace with gorgeous views. The service was fantastic - we got there early and they held our bags prior to check in. On the day we checked out, our flight was later and they held our bags while we walked around and had lunch. If I had to give negatives on anything, they would be that the included breakfast was not good, the tv did not have many channels in English, and you have to pay for wi-fi (per device, not per room). These were minor given all of the positives and I would definitely go back.

“Great place in Rome”

We stayed at the Hotel Colosseum from April 22 - 29. It is a great oasis of quiet in bustling Rome. The street is quiet, yet it is only a short walk to the train/bus station. Many restaurants and attractions are a short walk. The staff is friendly and the hotel is clean and well kept.

“A great value.”

The hotel was very clean and our room was kept spotless by the cleaning staff. This hotel was convenient for touring Rome. It was close to the Colosseum and the forum, and the metro station was about a three minute walk from the hotel. The breakfast was good, but we are early risers and wished it started before 7:30. However, I would certainly stay here again.

“Wow.....”

I booked this hotel because of it reasonable price and location. I wasn't expecting much but it turned out to be the nicest hotel that we stayed at in Italy. The location was amazing, just blocks away from the train station, just past the the beautiful Santa Maria Maggiore church (well worth a visit, btw) and only blocks from the Colosseum as well. The room was very clean and the bathroom the biggest I have had in Europe. Our new "go-to" hotel in Rome!!!!!

“A little Roman perfection!”

I don't know where to start. This is a very nice 3 star hotel in a great location. Via Sforza is just off the beaten track and extremely quiet. One block to Via Cavour, and 3 blocks from St. Peter in Chains (Michelangelo's Moses!) Of course, it's also a short walk to its namesake, the Colosseum. The breakfasts were really good, the room was excellent with a nice view. And the staff was outstanding, especially the night clerk, Diego. I will always stay there when I'm in Rome.
