Lovely hotel very close to the termini.Posted Mar 8, 2014
Pros: Its centrality and peace and quiet. The staff were very polite and greeted us very time with genuine smiles. Their English is excellent.
Location: Two streets away from the termini with the Colosseum a short walk away. There were lots of cafes and restaurants within walking distances too.
This trip was to celebrate a special birthday. I had arranged for a private car pick up at the airport as we landed very late at night. The hotel arranged this, and although a bit pricey, I would certainly recommend this. The hotel was lovely and clean, and the room quiet and comfortable. The ensuite shower room was well appointed, and perfectly adequate. In the morning there was the ubiquitous continental breakfast with a fine variety of cold meats, breads and pastries. It set us up nicely for busy days of going round the sights of this fascinating city. We threw our coins into the Trevino Fountain so we will definitely be back to Rome and this hotel.

Excellent for a short stayPosted Mar 5, 2014
Pros: The location, the decor, the helpful staff and the breakfasts.
Cons: Not much. The rooms are perhaps a tad small, but if you're spending too much time in your room you've missed the point of being in Rome.
Location: Some of the major sights - Colosseum, Forum, Palatine Hill - and Termini are very close by. Plus there are bars & restaurants within walking distance.
We stayed in the Hotel Colosseum for 4 nights and found it to be a highly enjoyable experience. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, spoke excellent English, and were more than happy to help provide information on sightseeing, transport and more. We were supplied with a detailed map of Rome on arrival, which came in very handy. The room was small but clean and comfortable, perfect for a short stay such as ours. And the rooftop terrace offers some spectacular views of the city. In addition, the location was superb - less than 15 minutes' walk to the Colosseum & Forum, and less than 10 minutes to the central Termini station. There was also a Metro stop just down the road as well as restaurants and bars in the immediate vicinity. Finally, the breakfast service was excellent. There were all sorts of choices on offer from breads & pastries to cereal, fruit and cold meat. Very good value for money.

Hidden Gem of RomePosted Feb 23, 2014
Pros: Staff make a Hotel and the Staff here were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Reception staff spoke perfect English!
Cons: Mini Bars in room!
Location: Location down a quiet back street one block from the Via Cavour and Cavour Metro station. Colosseum and Termini a 10 min walk away.
My wife and I have been to Rome on numerous occasions and usually choose book a hotel near the area we are targeting for that particular visit. We wanted to be close to Termini this time so we could travel further afield so chose 'Hotel Colosseum' due to its convenient location to Cavour Metro line and it being set back a block from the busy via Cavour. We were a bit apprehensive as it was a new part of town for us but we need not have worried, what a super hotel though!!!

It is so convenient, it's near where the actions.Posted Feb 9, 2014
Pros: Walking disdance to Termini Train Station.
Cons: Not much. Maybe they can tell that Train Station is walking distance from the hotel.
Location: I said it already above.
My experience is great. I should know it in advance how far the hotel to Leonardo express Termini station. It means a big different because taking the Train rather that the taxi is a lot convenience and cheaper.

HotelPosted Feb 6, 2014
Pros: The location, the size of the rooms and the cleanness of both the rooms and the main areas.
Cons: Breakfast was limited and could have offered more choice.
Location: Their is loads to do and the location is brill for the train metro and buses.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is on a budget and looking for a very nice place to stay with easy access to the bus, metro and trains. Our room was nice and clean and well looked after, the bath room was spacious and again very clean. The only thing that was a tinny let down was breakfast which was very limited.

A great location.Posted Feb 6, 2014
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was plentiful and a lot of choice.
Cons: Rugs on the bedroom floor in winter perhaps, the rooms were a bit chilly.
Location: Apart from the two mentioned on your doorster, the vartican city can be reached by metro in 10 mins. or so along with Piazza Naonna, The Spanish Steps
The hotel was a little difficult to find initially, but really located well. From the roof top garden in one directtion was Santa Maria Maggiore, 2 mins walk away, and in the other the Colloseum itself, just a few minutes stroll away. It made a lovely start to the break on the day of arrival, being dark early we took a stroll to see the Colosseum by flood light. Metro close by, easy to use, and at a price of 6 Euros for 24 hours use good value.
