Wonderful small hotel with great staff and locatioPosted Nov 21, 2013
On recent first time trip to Rome my husband & I stayed 3 nights (based on reviews by others). Very glad we did. Front desk staff gracious, room spotless with glass chandelier sparkling over the bed, patio closed but inside seating was equally pretty with buffet enough to last all day! Was worried about a neighborhood so close to a train stn. but I felt safe even late at night walking from metro. Great value for the money!

Lovely HotelPosted Oct 29, 2013
If we could rank the Hotel Columbia higher than 5, we would! The desk staff to a person were helpful, knowlegeable, and in a word, delightful . .. darling rooms with the most beautiful breakfast room imaginable: rooftop tables, inside and outdoors, with great views! We will definitely recommend it to our friends and will stay there again.

Columbia Boutique Hotel,.Posted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: See above.
Cons: In room tea and coffee making facilities and supplies.
Location: Plenty of restaurants and bars although expensive. The Opera house is 80 metres down the road and the Metro, the train and bus terminus are nearby
I first stayed at the Columbia in 2004 with friends and we found it to be an excellent base for viewing all the important historical sites in Rome, with most of them within easy walking distance and even the Vatican merely a longer stroll. The Metro which is nearby makes access to all parts of the city inexpensive and simple. . Although the hotel has limited facilities the rooms are good and spacious with tv that offers 3 english news channels and 2 Sky movie channels, and there is a personal safe in the room for valuables. On sunny days breakfast on the roof terrace is a delight. The staff are very helpful and friendly, and the lift is excellent.

Standard room was way below standardPosted Sep 28, 2013
Pros: Roof top terrace was incredibly nice. Breakfast was great.
Cons: Rooms need updating
Location: Close tot rain station.
We had to upgrade the room as the standard room was so wakeful with cot type beds. It ended up costingas. Much as it would have to stay at a way nicer place in a better location.

Good value for the moneyPosted Sep 25, 2013
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast (no thrills but good variety and you can't beat the price tag!). Hotel staff was very accomodating and actually talk to each other! The only issue I had with the hotel is the bed as the mattress was very firm. So if you don't like firm mattresses, you may not be comfortable. Overall though, this hotel is a very good option and great value for the money.
