“Loved the proximity to the Vatican!”
The highlight of my trip was to visit the Vatican, so I very much enjoyed being walking distance from there. The hotel breakfast was good, I enjoyed coffee, juice, yogurt, pastries and a ham and cheese sandwich on different mornings. We paid an additional amount for a total of 24 hours of wireless internet use, this was perfect as we did not require more than that. I loved being in a 550 year old building that was once a monastery. I would stay here again.
“Satisfied and would stay there again”
Hotel was very clean. Staff was friendly. Our room had a shower which was extremely small. In other words, don't drop the soap because you can't bend over to pick it up. The hotel was just a block or so from the Vatican and was conveniently located to all other interesting sites. The restaurant within the hotel was a bit pricey. The complimentary breakfast was sufficient (pastries, coffee, juice, yogurt, canned fruit).
“Hotel Columbus”
This is an ideally located hotel for walking to St. Peters or the Vatican Museums, etc., all within a few minutes walk. You can pick up a hop on/off tourist bus just outside or taxis if needed. The rooms were clean and well kept, and the staff was wonderful. Every hotel employee was friendly and professional, spoke very good English and very courteous. We had a problem with the air conditioner the first night and it was fixed the next day. The hotel breakfast was included and quite good, but we did not try the highly rated hotel restaurant, the prices were a little steep. Overall, my wife and I were very pleased with our stay at this hotel, very nice people to deal with.
“excellent”
THE BEST LOCATION. THE BEST STAFF. LOVED EVERYTHING.
“will be back”
very good location staff very helpful and friendly breakfast is good and you can have it in the nice garden quiet room good for a good night of rest after walking all day restaurant have excellent food
“Feel special in Rome”
While the rooms are not luxurious, they are clean and maintained. The hotel was monastery many years ago, so the "feel" of the building is in line with the area (it is a stone's throw from the Vatican). The staff is very accommodating and professional especially when it comes to booking tours. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.
“Amazing Location, Wonderful Character, Excellent Service”
Staying at this hotel was an excellent experience! St. Peter's Basilica is right out the front door! The hotel has a wonderful history which was fun to explore. I would stay here again and again!
“Good hotel, great location. I definitely recommend this Hotel.”
Good hotel, great location. Staff very friendly and helpful in every request we made. Rooms are big and clean as well as the bathroom. Hotel is located at a walking distance from the St Peter's square. Hop on and off buses stop at the front of the hotel. Good restaurants around this hotel and we even found a super market near. We got the breakfast buffet option, staff at the restaurant were very friendly as well and they had a good variety of pastries, cereal, eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt, fruit, thee, and an excellent coffee. Also, we rented a car and this hotel has a free parking lot, this is a plus in Rome.
“Front Desk Service was extremely helpful, with all needs from helping us with registering etc”
The location of the hotel, the front desk service, the cleanliness of the room, etc was superb. This is my third time staying at this hotel and I would return again. The breakfast buffet is going down from previous stays. My first stay had scrambled eggs and bacon, along with bananas, oranges, peaches and other fresh fruit. Now only hardboiled eggs, cold ham, only apples and fewer selections of breads. After 7 days with no change, breakfast was boring. The service in the dinning room was excellent. I was with another adult and two children ages 9 & 10 and all were very kind. Recomend this hotel to all.
“Wonderful hotel near St Peters - Vatican”
