2 Days in RomePosted Aug 24, 2013
Pros: Our room was by Roman standards quite roomy, very comfortable and clean
Cons: The foyer to he building we were in was very old and worn
Location: Great location for sightseeing.t
We only had 2 nights in Rome so needed to stay somewhere central, easy access to sight seeing and restaurants was essential. Hotel de Petris was in the perfect location, a few minutes to the Trevi Fountain and loads of restaurants. The Hotel was a bit worn, but our room located across he road from the hotel, was very comfortable, modern and clean. The roof top terrace was perfect for breakfast which was good value. The staff were helpful and very friendly. Overall an ideal hotel for a short stay n Rome.

HOTEL DE_PETRISPosted Aug 13, 2013
Pros: position,staff,and breakfasts
Cons: size of shower, room 302 would benefit from a touch of fresh paint.
Location: excellent location, handy for all the city sights, and several good restaurants nearby.
the de petris is well situated, being within easy walking distance of most of Rome's attractions, especially the Trevi and the spanish steps, and is also about 5 mins walk from the subway. The staff were all pleasant and couldn't do enough to help, the breakfasts were really good with plenty of choice(not a cooked breakfast,but-- when in Rome) and the rooftop dining area was very pleasant with a great view. The room we had(302) was a bit tired looking but clean(it is an old building after all),and the shower was very small-ok for us as we are both very slim-even so we couldn't move around in it so it would certainly not suit a larger frame person. All in all we had a very pleasant stay and would certainly go back there again.

i Stayed in a superior room on a seperate building. the room was great and the shower was big and amazing i dont think you will get a shower this size in rome even at a 4 star hotel. the room was renovated. the breakfast was good and fresh kinda basic, but good. the location is amazing 3 minuts walking from trevi fountain and the spanish steps , 10-15 minutes walking from the colluseum and the roman furom. i dont know the quality of the standart rooms, but my room was really good and in high standart.

The worst hotel of RomePosted Dec 2, 2009
In my experience it was the worst hotel of our tour in Europe. The attention in the counter was very bad, always with wrong faces and ill-treatment. Besides when we ask them for help recommending us a tourist bus to cross the city, they made us buy the most expensive tickets only because they were giving them commission. Nobody neither speaks Spanish nor English they only want to speak to them in Italian what makes the communication very complicated. The room was small and very inconvinient. Definitively we won´t return and also never recommend it to anybody.

Clean and tidy but not impressivePosted Oct 23, 2007 on Hotels.com
This is a basic 3 star hotel. We had a top floor room, and it was very small. No power point to recharge phone in room. Tiny old lift was an experience. Breakfast was disappointing. Clean & decent if that is all you need, but not romantic. However, Location in the city was perfect. We booked a five star hotel near by for last night, much more us. Recommend only if basic suits.

Lovely HotelPosted Oct 21, 2007
Stayed in the De Petris Hotel for 2 nights. Its located in a nice quite street and is close to all the main sights. Our room (No 33) was lovely. It had a small balcony that overlooked a courtyard. My mum had the room next door (34) and that was just as nice. The balconies adjoined outside obviously seperated by a small fence but it was nice to be so close. The breakfast was ample typical continental + boiled eggs and toast. Did a good cuppachino. Realy good I would say. Ive stayed in the Genio which is 4* and the breakfast was awful. I would recommend this hotel as a 4*. The reception on arrival gives you a map of Rome and highlights the hotel location. We enjoyed our stay here very much and I would return again.
