A hidden gem

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: location and quiet. Staff. Breakfast. Each room had its own airconditioning unit which is rare but wonderful in Rome's summer humidity.
Cons: not much really
Location: very close to Termini with many nearby good restaurants and within walking distance of much of Rome's main sights.
this hotel is a combination of hostel and hotel and is in a quiet location but only a couple of blocks from Termini Station. My impression is that the rooms have been constructed from former apartments and there is very good security.

Very good indeed

The location was the reason I chose this hotel. Then all the other characteristics were a bonus. Nice staff, cleaness, breakfast, etc... all good. Only thing is you have to pay to use their wifi but its only €2 per person per day.

Good location near the station

We had a double room with a private bathroom. Quite nice, simple and clean room. Nicely decorated - a lot better than some of the bland chain hotels! Mix of backpackers/couples/families, but this did not pose a problem for us.

Great hotel

Excellent hotel. Very close to public transport. The staff were great as well. Good value for money. Only downside is no free WiFi. I would stay again if I come back to Roma.

Great hotel close to Termini Station

Posted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: Location and room size
Location: Close to metro and train station. Tour bus, if you opt for it, stops right by Termini Station.
This hotel met and exceeded our expectations during our 3 night stay in Rome. We booked for a double room in an annex building which was more of an apartment than a hotel room. The room had air conditioning and was really big for a room in Rome. It is about a 10min walk from Termini Station and there are a lot of great dining options in the neighborhood. It is also close to the blue line metro which takes you to the Vatican and you can catch the red line from Termini Station to see all the other tourist attractions in Rome. The staff were very helpful with dining suggestions and also directions to all the must see places. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all.

Great base for seeing Rome

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Loved my room! It was a nice place to relax after a hectic day sight seeing. Also, great to have so many plug sockets!
Cons: More explanation from staff about local facilities and transportation. I was okay getting around myself but Im quite an experienced traveller.
Location: Close to termini and Castro Pretorio. Fancy a change from Pizza, try Asmara restaurant for gorgeous Ethiopian food!!!!
The hotel is very near both the Termini and Castro Pretorio metro station so it is a great base for sightseeing. The room I stayed in was very comfortable and spacious. I was lucky as I was on the first floor so I could walk up to my room easily. The room was nicely decorated and had a tv, safe and fridge as well as lots of sockets which was great for charging up laptop, phone, kindle, camera battery etc. I hate only having one useable socket! The breakfast was similar to most hotels i have stayed at in this price range, some pastries, bread, cereal, eggs and bacon, fruit etc. The staff were fine but didnt really go out of their way to make sure I knew what was in the area and how to get to places.

Small but friendly hotel

Hotel des Aritistes had everything you needed for a very comfortable stay. The rooms were clean and quiet. The staff were excellent. They manned a 24 hour desk and were always friendly and helpful. The terrace on the roof was a little oasis away from the hussle and bussle. You could take your own drink and snacks up and just chill out. Location wise you could easily walk to two Metro stations depending on which line you wanted to take. I would highly recommend.

Pros: Nice rooftop garden, comfortable rooms, pleasant staff, within walking distance to Termini Cons: My husband and I were put in a separate building from the room our children were in. They are older so it wasn't terrible, but it was inconvenient. Also, I wouldn't stay in the neighborhood near Termini unless it's necessary
