Nice hotel, excellent staff, great location
Posted Jan 26, 2013
Pros: The location, the cleaning
Cons: The hard mattress
Location: Close to every thing, close to termini
The hotel is located at very good location, close to the termini, the only issue is the hard mattress, across the street is the small Italian restaurant with excellents prices You take a bus from airport to the termini and is 3 or 4 shot blocks away the hotel, is very secure and you will save up to 40 euros on each way. I really recomend it.

Good hotel to retire for the night only
Posted Jan 18, 2013
Pros: Location
Cons: Shared residents accommodation - noise, no privacy so couldn't open the windows etc
Location: Near the termini so perfect to get about
Okay so the hotel location was perfect as it is located close to the termini which means you have close links to rail/metro/buses. On arrival we checked in and were greeted by friendly staff who escorted us to our room. Now the hotel rooms are in a separate building which appears to be shared with residents. There is not much of a view. But we went to Rome for the city and not to stay in the hotel so that didn't matter. The hotel room was clean and tidy, however no tea making facilities or iron etc (thankfully took our travel iron). We did open the wardrobe to find a ladies underwear on top of the safe - I know Eeew. But to be fair it was easy to miss. Aside from that no cleaning issues. We couldn't open the windows without looking into the residents rooms as they a directly opposite. That was a shame. The lift can only really fit two people and is very old school (the one where all the doors are manually shut for the life to operate. Finally, breakfast had several options but did not really cater for vegetarians. All the utensils etc were mixed. Shame we didn't just book the room. Overall, a hotel that could do with upgrading but is in a good location and is perfect for people who just want to use the hotel to sleep in.

Excellent budget hotel
Posted Jan 18, 2013
Pros: Locality and staff were very helpful
Cons: None
Location: Excellent location.... 2 minutes from metro station and 5 minutes from Termini
Excellent basic hotel within a few minutes walk of Termini station, the staff were extremely helpful and cannot praise them enough for their advise and attitude. The room was small as to be expected with a city hotel but was well maintained and cleaned daily. The double bed was actually 2 singles pushed together but was still comfortable. The breakfast buffet was OK and has plenty of choice.

Very enjoyable

Pros: The pictures on the walls. The staff were very friendly. The showers.
Cons: The orange juice at breakfast was from concentrate and so wasn't that nice.
Location: It is a metro/bus ride or a medium walk from the very centre of the City, so our legs were tired by the evening. But it's still good value
We had a lovely time. We were able to move rooms after the first night to a room with more light. We were able to check in early when we arrived off the train as our room was ready. The free internet was very useful for booking Vatican Museum tickets, which were printed for us too. Even though there were hundreds of tv channels it took us several days to work out that there were English channels below channel 0!

Good tourist base

Pros: Close to station Termini
Cons: First impression was that it was dingy
Location: Within walking distance of main sites though would recommend taking metro to the Vatican
Excellent cheap, clean, central hotel, close to station Termini and within walking distance of the main sites, though I would recommend taking the tube to the Vatican. The staff were always helpful and offered useful advice. If all you want is a clean comfortable base to go site seeing from then this fits the bill.

great economical hotel in Rome

No complaints about our stay at The Hotel des Artistes in the area around the Rome Termini station. The rooms were nicely decorated with old art prints and beds where comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful. There was a Metro stop around the corner. I would recommend this place for budget travellers.

Great Bohemian hotel right at Rome Termini
Posted Jan 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
This hotel was VERY friendly and welcoming with reception staff offering tips and directions without prompting, the rooms beautiful decorated with a Bohemian feel, very clean, quiet, and a good breakfast at a very reasonable rate. Also the location is SUPERB, it being a 3 minute walk from the main station of Rome: Roma Termini. For a friendly, convenient, cost-efficient stay in Rome I recommend this hotel.
