“Not up to standards of a 5 star as far as service.”

The doorman can't even hold the door open. Really? He's got one job, and can't even do that. Hotel itself is great, but hotel staff suck. Not worth the money, stay at the Westin instead.

“Great Locations, Great Hotel”

Hotel was very nice. Great location; rooms were nicely furnished and comfortable. Our room was rather small and did not have a view, but we were in our room very little. Would stay here again.

“DO not stay here”

The hotel is in a great area, which is the only pro of the hotel This is supposed to be a 5 star hotel. The sheets are scratchy and cheap, the bed is extremely uncomfortable, they have the heat on in the winter, and you can't adjust the temperature so the room is extremely hot. In order to cool your room you can open the window, which leads to an extrememly loud morning. Turndown service didn't show up 2 out of the 3 nights of our stay. The steam room is only big enough for 2 people, so you have to make an appointment to steam. There are so many beautiful hotels in the area...do not stay at this hotel...it is not a 5 star hotel.

“Wonderful!”

Loved the linen sheets, character and comfort! Couldn't afford to eat in the restaurant though!

Traveler's tip
We enjoyed eating at little family-owned and -run restaurants off the main streets! Take a compass--we kept going the wrong direction. It's easy to get lost in Rome!

“We will stay at Hotel Eden every trip to Rome for the rest of our lives!”

We LOVED the EDEN. The staff - particularly Fabio - were so kind and generous, especially toward our toddler daughter. The rooms (ours and my father's) were beautifully (and softly) appointed, with every detail (the double front door, for instance, guaranteeing no noise from the hallway) well considered. It was a perfect location to jet off in any direction - to the Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, the Borghese Gallery and gardens, Via Veneto, etc. The only complaint we had was the cost of the breakfast, which was outrageous at 53 EURO for the buffet. Really, that's totally insane for essentially fruit and baked goods. Enjoy a cornetto and cappuccino in one of the many street side cafes right around the corner and just have a drink in Eden's 6th floor bar to admire the view.

“Posh Accommodations”

My husband and I went to the Eden Hotel in Rome for our June 2009 honeymoon. We had never been to Italy (but have visited London and most of Spain) and browsed through several hotels along with reviews from multiple sources. We selected the Eden because of the air conditioning and general positive reviews. A great plus was the fact that we could control the temperature. We stayed in a modest bedroom with high ceilings and a queen bed. The bathroom and foyer were made of marble and very pristine. Room service was very on top of things and would come by twice a day to fix our bed or replace towels and toiletries. The concierge was equally attentive and helped us with directions to places and recommended restaurants when asked. The staff spoke English quite clearly and were always ready to help.

“Great location & staff, but rooms desperately need renovation.”

If I got a great deal on this 5 Star hotel, I would go back. The 5 stars in Rome are very expensive and I couldn't get a deal like the one I got at the Eden anywhere else. The hotel is located in a great spot, behind the Spanish Steps. Breakfast wasn't included in my rate, so there was no way I was going to spring for the $53EU it costs, but I'm not a big breakfast person anyway. The room's design is beautiful with its antique style and extensive mouldings, but the furniture is worn out, the bed is not very comfortable, and the sheets aren't soft. The rooms definitely need renovation.

“I Agree with Fromers”

Hotel Eden was a perfect fit for me. The rooms are spacious, the staff is polite and conscientious, and the location is perfect. For a five star hotel the prices are incredible. A top choice for anyone who wants to spend some time in Rome.
