Great Location

Posted Jul 29, 2015
The location was great! 10 min walking distance to Colosseum and the Forum is across the street. The hotel itself was beautiful, old world charm. The Roof Garden restaurant was nice overlooking the Forum, but the food wasn't. Very pricy for the quality. Skip the breakfast, much better places in the area to eat. Air conditioning was ok. We had an adjoining room with our kids and their room was miserable. They did supply fans but was still very hot while trying to sleep. Upon check out we were over charged for breakfast and for using the mini bar to store our water. They did correct it but was an issue. So, pay attention to your final bill.

Perfect position but not room advertised

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: Location is perfect, breakfast good
Cons: Don't midadvertise rooms, whether it is their fault or Expediasa
Location: Location is perfect, central and couldn't be better
Disappointed that I was not given the room I paid for and asked to change.. I paid extra for adeluxe room as shown on your website but given a room I had already stayed in 2 years ago although I paid extra. They did change the room but only after we stayed in that room for 2 nights so feel tha I have overpaid. We hada welcome drink but bar refused t serve us it one night and other night the reception staff ended up serving it to us. Reception staff were great, bar staff, useless and rude. Very disappointed about being givena room that I could have paid a lot less for.

Next to The Forum

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: Great hotel
Location: Next to The Forum. Easy walk to Trevi Fountain, Coliseum, and many of the historic sights.
Beautiful room with marbl bathroom, great location, nice staff recommended good places to eat. Would have been excellent except for problem with the air conditioning in our room. They brought in fans and saved the day.

Easy walking distance to most tourist sights.

Posted Jul 5, 2015
Pros: The hotel was close to everything we wanted to see.
Checking in was easy. We were extremely pleased that the Colosseum was less than a 10 minute stroll away. If you are looking for a hotel that is fairly close to the sights, then this is the one. We did pay more for the hotel than we would have like to, but we were not disappointed. The welcome drink at the American bar on top of the restaurant was a nice surprise. Breakfast was expensive but the views helped make up for that. We didn't find the staff overly friendly which was a surprise based on other reviews. However, our room was pleasant, the WiFi and air conditioning worked well and staff got us a taxi without any problems. We have already recommended this hotel to friends.

First night in substandard room

Posted Jun 23, 2015
Nice somewhat old old fashioned hotel. Staff helpful and attentive. Breakfast whopping €18 pp. first night we were in small room which didn't seem to live up to "superior room with view" that we had paid premium for. They were efficient in moving us to nice room for remaining 2 nights. Good location. Local city tax extra.

Friendly hotel in the heart of historic city

Posted Jun 17, 2015
We stepped out of the door, and right into the ancient forum - Rome's history is right on your doorstep, fantastic location. The staff were very friendly and helpful, with great advice - they didn't hesitate to help us out when we had problems with our flights. The hotel had typical faded Roman grandeur, but was really clean and well-kept, with lovely details in the room - nice bed and light fittings!

Great room and location, poor ac.

Posted Jun 11, 2015
The location was wonderful. The hotel itself was beautiful. The restaurant was very nice, but the food wasn't as good as we hoped, especially considering the price. The biggest issue was the air conditioning. It barely fan blowed even on the highest setting, and when we left the room it reset itself to a much higher temp setting than we left it. So, we would return, after spending a hot day walking around Rome, to a hot room. It didn't even cool well at night, so the room was hot while we slept. We didn't sleep under the covers at all it was so hot.

The location was nice. Stayed in a suite, room was large and clean. Staff was rude, refused to help with tours, directions, taxi's. They would give you a map, tour book or tell you to walk to a corner for a taxi. I have traveled all over the world, this place looks good, but is a disaster due mainly to staff attitude.
