The Good: The hotel was conveniently located close to Roma Termini train station. This was great as we used the train to get to/from Venice and to get out to the FCO airport. The hotel was also priced right for our budget. The Bad: The hotel (or just our room) is in disrepair. Air conditioning was really weak and Rome was really hot while we were there (high was 34C / 93F). They tried to fix it multiple times, but it never got to a comfortable level. Both the sink and the shower had draining issues. The stand-up shower had lots of mold/mildew. The room had a few USB/power plugs that didn't work.

Not good hotel and service is bad. Reason for negative review is the hotel never told us that the hotel was fully booked and they did not notify us until we arrive. We end up getting another hotel thanks to calling in expedia customer service and they got us another hotel to accommodate our unexpected cancelation.

Small, clean hotel near Roma Termini
The Hotel Giorgi is a good place for short stays in central Rome. The room rate is reasonable and very competitive considering location and standard of accomodation. The WiFi is very good but the hotel charges guests to use it on a daily basis. The furnishings, decor, and overall cleanliness are good to very good. Rooms are small but comfortable enough and very clean. Noise can be an issue: not from outdoors (i.e. the rooms face the inner courtyard, and the hotel is also on a side street, although neighboring church bells can be loud), but from inside the hotel. Bad sound insulation between rooms and between room and corridor. So, if other hotel guests are inconsiderate, you can hear them talking, snoring (!), or moving in neighboring rooms or hallway. Hotel management and staff are moderately courteous. Breakfast is just adequate, nothing to shout about, but the breakfast facilities are large and comfortable enough.

Awful
Absolutely awful stay. Room was small, then the hotel manager wouldnt give the free buffet breakfast on my hotels.com booking. He argued because i got it cheaper online then i shouldnt get breakfast. Eventually after 20 minutes he spoke to the director and he gave us the breakfast as per my online booking confirmation which i showed them. awful service, the worst i have had in the world so far.

My opinion of Hotel Giorgi
Stayed @ Hotel Giorgi for 2 nights with my wife. My frank opinion is that it is at best a 2 star hotel. Very good location because it is close to Roma Termini but the hotel itself and it's facilities require refurbishment / renovation.

Convenient to everything..
One gentleman who worked at the front desk just scowled at you and made you feel unwelcome. Even when you greeted him in Italian, he never answered. It was very uncomfortable. The room size was fine by European standards, but the wall paper on the walls was very shabby and peeling off in spots. The shower door was not attached to the frame and I didn't realise it until I went to pull it across to close and it fell on me. I moved it to one side, and it stayed there during my stay. The room appeared clean and fresh towels were provided each day. Breakfasts were very good with a variety of options and plenty of food.

I had a very bad experience in this hotel due to our bed/room being infested by bed bugs. We complained to the hotel receptionist which couldn't understand what bed bugs are. I had to google some photos of bed bugs and even the Italian word for it. On our first night, we were told to change our bed sheets. We eventually changed our sheets but still bugs were crawling and feeding on us. Again, I informed the receptionist the following morning and I was told it will be cleaned. I didn't know what to do. I should've called Expedia and request for transfer. I was so shocked, so helpless and couldn't think straight, thus, remained in this hotel for the next 3 nights with my husband and myself, taking in turns to stay awake to make sure there are no bed bugs lurking around. On our last day, I had a lot of bed bugs bites all over my body and was still itching on my way back to London. We had to wash and decontaminate our things when we got home. I swore not to use this hotel again since I'm due to go back to Rome in the next 2 months.

Convenient location
The location is 5 m walk from Termini station with easy access to airport (bus and express train) and to metro station. The hotel sign on the street is barely visible. The street seems safe, but with graffitti on the buildings walls. The breakfast is OK, but the choices are limited if you stay for longer than 2-3 days. No fruits are offered, veggies are only tomatoes and cucumbers. Coffee is awful as compared what Rome can offer elsewhere. there is free computer with internet access in the lobby, free wi-fi in the lobby and in the rooms, but wi-fi in the rooms is so week that most of the time it does not work. It is a good choice for the money.

Conveniently situated for sightseeing in Rome - close to the main rail and bus terminus. There are a number of restaurants in the area. Although the entrance is not too impressive it is actually quite a comfortable hotel.

Clean hotel with convenient transport links.
Great hotel for a reasonable price. If you want a spacious room then this hotel is not for you. If you want a clean room, a pleasing range of choice for breakfast (I recommend you go with the unfilled croissants with the blueberry jam - or maybe the tropical fruit museli), a comfortable bed and a convenient location, then this hotel does the job. I was particularly impressed by the fact that our showerhead started to shoot water over the shower door, on our second night, and completely sprayed the bathroom; even though we didn't report this (we forgot in our rush to go and see the sights), they fixed it before we returned that day. p.s. Don't be put off by the lack of a smile when you arrive - the guy who works nights is lovely to make up for it.

Classy just what you need in Rome if you really want to see the sites. The Location is truly PERFECT I recommend to all visitors who want to see the sites of Rome to be Choose a location close to Termini Station. That is the major station in Rome and has both underground and overground trains, this hotel is 7minutes walk for TERMINI Station perfect spot. I was easy able to travel to florence for the day from termini station the train was Great and only took 1hr 50mins venice also available directly everythimg happens around Termini station. With such attractions as the Colossium only 25mins walk away i loved the location it was Central and Easy for 1st time travelers to view major sites. Staff were nice true Italian passion/humour and breakfast free and also good. Room have air conditioner which you will require and rooms are Clean. I hope this helps make up your mind.

it needs more of a light sign to be able to find it easily, i had a google map on hand with the hotel location, but it was a bit difficult to see, there is that red flag for the hotel that you need to be looking at. but rather than than, the room was clean as well as the shower, but it was rather a basic. shower. breakfast was very much no options. similar to breakfasts you get in good hostels.

Fine hotel
The hotel itself was fine. The room was clean and comfortable for one night. The bathroom was also very modern looking and clean. The staff was ok. The man I talked to spoke little English. Also, when I checked out of the hotel, there was no one at the reception desk; I did check out very early, but I still expected someone to be at the front desk. Overall, fine stay for one night.

The breakfast could have been varied. New lift in use now but was not working for a short while when we got there. Staff are friendly, big praise to our chambermaid and the young lady in the breakfast area. Both staff always welcomed you. Breakfast was good but could have been varied. Remodeling Without Closing Down the Hotel
Instead of closing down the hotel to do renovations, they kept it open and did them one room at a time! How horrid. I moved rooms three time in 3 days, but by "I", I mean they came and moved my stuff to various rooms themselves and then when I got back, my stuff had been moved for me. One day I came back and 5 men were in my room fixing a light fixture. No regard for personal things, and the air conditioning is controlled by the front desk, so you get next to nothing. Finally, when I went to the front desk to complain about the noise from remodeling and my room changes, the owner got upset that I was upset over the room and attempted to "reason" with me by holding both my wrists and shushing me. No, I would not recommend this hotel.

OK for the price.
A few steps from the termini station, which is what we wanted, spacious room for a european hotel, but drab, comfortable enough though, and the bathroom is also spacious, the most disappointing part is their wifi, for those of us who still have to work via the internet. For the price, it is worth the stay, as we only use the room to crash at night.

Do Not Stay Here
This was the worst hotel I've ever stayed at. I am not the overly picky type and I found this hotel to be severely lacking. First of all the hotel lobby is in a separate area from the actual hotel rooms. The rooms are in a building in which the door to the street is left wide open at all times so that anyone can walk in off the street and walk right upstairs. There is no security guard either. There is a door that you need a card key to open to get to the hallway but that too is propped open most of the time. The antique elevator is interesting and charming to look at but not exactly pleasant to use. You can barely fit your luggage in and it is extremely creaky which made me very uneasy. The biggest problems were found in the room. The room itself was clean and would be okay if it weren't for all the problems with the amenities. The air conditioner does not work so you must keep the windows open for air and it's quite noisy. I was only able to get the Wifi to work 2 times in an entire week--very inconvenient when you are relying on it to communicate home and avoid expensive phone calls. There no electric outlets in these rooms either. My power adapter would not work when I tried to use it after unplugging the TV. There is one plug in the bathroom that is only for razors so that is no help either. Basically, you cannot use any of your appliances here if you are from the U.S. and you have no way to charge your phone.

Hotel Giorgi is a rather shabby pensione near Termini station. It is under some construction, and there is no direct access between the reception and the hotel itself (you have to go out to the street and enter again through another door). The Internet connection was very slow, practically useless. Finally I found a stronger signal in the bar area. The safe in the room was too small for a netbook computer. The fridge didn't work for the first two days. The room access card stopped working randomly. The location is convenient, if not pleasant, and the breakfast is adequate.

Good hotel.
I have stayed with my wife and my two kids (5 and 3 years old) for 4 nights. We had room 504. Very spacious room. Two big and confortable beds plus average size wardrobe for hotels and a round table with two chairs. Bathroom was clean. We had a small fridge in our bedroom and we could buy drinks to put in it. The hotel is close to two supermarkets (5 minutes walking). Breakfast was on floor 1. Very good for a 3 star hotel. The reception is normal to every hotel in the neighborhood. The separate entrance with the access to the elevator is not pleasant and the lift needs to be refurbished (probably a 60 or 70 years old lift). The staff treated us well. If you are considering a tourist 3 star hotel to do tourism in Rome and close to main trasportation links (Termini) and to all final stops to the sightseeing companies, you should consider it.

Overall lovely stay, however when my husband and son arrived they challenged the charge for my son, hotel receptionist wanted more money, claiming he was an adult ...paperwork stated he was 17 and obviously his passport could sunstantiate this, at what point exactly do you become an adult, we filled in correct details when booking and found this a bit odd, on departure he ran out the hotel behind them asking for a local tax of 2 euro's per night per person, there was no previous mention of this

Hotel Giorgi = Horrid Experience
Our room on 5th floor using ancient elevator. The paper thin walls let you hear every slamming door, people running up and down the hallway and unwanted, extremely loud conversations at 6 o'clock in the morning. The springs of the mattress made for uncomfortable nights and we had to use an extra blanket for padding. If you were lucky enough to have the water pressure to flush the toilet or take a shower, you then had to pray for warm water. Breakfast was minimal but not bad for the 5 euro charge. The only decent thing about this hotel was its location to the main terminal and the metro station. Only stay here if you're desperate and don't care about a good night's sleep.

A nice place
After reading mixed reviews on this hotel, I decided to stay here based on its proximity to the Termini. In short, the rooms are simple yet clean, their breakfast was the same from day to day but had enough choices to eat something different every day and tide you over until lunch. The staff was friendly and helpful and very forgiving of my limited Italian. Considering there's so much to see nearby, if you're looking for a reasonable place to sleep - this is it.

We had a good time in Rome staying at the Giorgi. The hotel did exactly what we needed - it provided a place to sleep and a breakfast in the morning. It was 5 minutes walk from the train station.
