Perfect location

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Expedia combination with airfare.
Cons: Mattress pad on the beds. Larger showers, but that probably won't happen.
Location: Very close to Coliseum, Forum, metro stop, Train station, shopping, restaurants, and shopping.
Wonderfully located hotel near most places we wanted to see during our 5 day visit. We walked most everywhere. The staff was very welcoming, helpful and gracious. The rooms are small, but that is what we expected. The showers were a bit of a challenge, but we made it work.

Great for a city break

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Great location. Close to main sites but with a real local feel. Good local restaurants and bars at local rates not tourist rates. Rooms are small but if that's not a problem then this is a top choice.

Good hotel for a great value

Posted Jul 12, 2014
Pros: It's very cute and the staff is amazing. Super friendly and helpful.
Cons: The bathroom shower is very small.
Location: It is a great neighborhood to walk around to restaurants and little shops. It is also less touristy. You can also walk to most historical sites.
The neighborhood is good and it is an adorable building with a patio and rooftop terrace. The decor is modern and well kept. The highlight of the hotel was the staff; they were incredibly friendly and helpful. They really make the guests feel welcome and do anything to make your stay nicer. The room was very clean and cute, very small though. The only potential negative is the small size of the bathroom, especially the shower. They had a great breakfast that was included and free wifi. I would absolutely recommend staying here. It is a great bargain and I will stay with them in the future.

Comfortable, central Hotel

Posted Jun 30, 2014
Well from the moment we first arrived in the hotel the staff were exceptionally friendly. We were able to check into our room early which was great and when we went up to our room it looked small (but it didn't really bother us as we were only sleeping in it) but comfortable. The shower was very small and hard to actually shower in but we made do. The hotel is centrally located and located only a 5 minute walk from the Coloseum and close walking distance to most other sites as well which was great. There is a Metro at the end of the street and also the main train and bus station is only less than a 10 minutes walk. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and caf├ęs around the area and the food is amazing. At the hotel we loved having the buffet breakfast every morning on the rooftop terrace which was beautiful being able to sit and eat in the morning sun. The free wifi didn't really work in our room so when we needed it we have to go downstairs and sit in the lounge area which wasn't too bad. Overall our stay at the Ivanhoe Hotel was pretty great. The friendly staff and the comfortable atmosphere made our holiday that much better. I would definitely recommend this hotel to everyone. It's central and affordable!

Convenient Location, Tiny Rooms, Awesome Place

Posted Jun 21, 2014
The hotel is in an easily accessible location to transit and in walking distance to many major monuments. Rooms (especially showers) are tiny, even by European standards, but the hotel overall is nice. The rooftop deck is a great place to enjoy a bottle of wine when trying to unwind a bit. The best part of the hotel is the neighborhood that it's in. It feels like its mostly local people in the area which is refreshing. Just 5 min. from the hotel is a little fountain which seems to be a local meetup place. There had to be 50 - 75 people there at 2AM most days just enjoying a beer and chatting with each other.

Great Place!

Pros: professional staff, location and the breakfast
Cons: The shower stall is small but that's about it!
Location: easy to visit the roman ruins, close to the central train station, trendy neighborhood
Hotel Ivanhoe proved to be a wonderful stay. The staff were exceptionally helpful, always willing to help and answer questions and the location was an easy walk to the Roman ruins. The breakfasts were excellent which included eggs, as well as a healthy cereal. The location was also relatively quiet. I strongly recommend this hotel and I would definitely return.

Good location, close to the colloseaum and metro

Posted May 26, 2014
On arrival, we got there early before check in 2pm, so they were very helpful let us check in early. The staff were really nice and friendly, on the first night we had a really small room, we asked if we could change and they let us change the next day. The shower is really small, so had few issues with manovering. Breakfast is really nice, good selection... Overall would stay here again

OK hotel close to train station

Posted May 18, 2014
Cons: The hotel recommends a certain sight seeing tour - 'ciao rome', which was very very bad. I wish I was recommended tour by city sightseeing instead.
Had a decent stay at the hotel. Best bits: 1. is close to train station. 2. the street is full of nice restaurants. 3. the hotel has a nice terrace 4. staff is very friendly and nice Bad bits: 1. The single room is quite small, pretty basic. 2. Had trouble connecting to the wi-fi in room, air-con was not that effective. 3. Noisy 4. Found it bit expensive for the price
