Beautiful Hotel, great location, excellent service

Posted Apr 4, 2014
Cons: Air conditioning poor
Location: Excellent, witihin a short walk of Spanish Steps or Trevi Fountain or shops. Metro close by and lots of nice restaurants in the vicinity.
Deserves to be one of leading hotels in the world.....and I have stayed in quite a few. Staff excellent and all facilities and amenities great. One slight criticism would be poor air conditioning as seemed old, was very loud and not very effective. Would happily go back though.

Beautiful hotel, great location, but the wifi...

Posted Mar 16, 2014
Pros: its beauty and location
Cons: WiFi and television
Location: It's Rome. Everything is nearby and there are endless things to do.
This is a beautiful property, located on the famous Via Veneto. The staff is outstanding. Knowledgable, friendly and helpful. The hotel is just gorgeous. THe only problems are the WiFi is virtually non-existent and there are no movies for rent on the tv. So, after a full day of walking and touring, you really can't just chill out in the room unless you are an avid book reader.

Great Location

Posted Feb 7, 2014
The location is perfect for sight seeing in Rome! The hotel is located inside the wall of the city and all attractions to see are within walking distance or a short cab ride. The hotel staff is absolutly amazing and are willing to accomadate your needs. The rooms are pleasing to the eye but a closer look reveals some issues. Our room had mold in the bathrooms and stains on the floor. There was also excessive wear on the rugs and furnature. On top of that the beds were very uncomfortable for American standards but average for European hotel standards. Over all I would stay there again with no questions asked. There is surely more good to say about the hotel than bad.

Great hotel in the center of Rome

Posted Jan 30, 2014
It's a very good hotel with a central location. Walking distance to many major sites like Trevi fountain or Spanish Steps. Lots of restaurants in the vicinity. The only caveat was my room was facing via Veneto and soundproofing was not ideal.

Perfect location, excellent staff

Pros: Staff, location and style make this hotel very special
Cons: The only negative we found was the gym is not well equiped and was not very well maintained.
Location: Very central, easy walking distance to all the main sites. Plenty of restaurants and shops close by.
Stayed 2 nights at this hotel for a family reunion in January. The hotel has been beautifully restored and is charming, with an old lift at its centre. Rooms are quite small, but very light and excellently equipped. We made full use of the lounge and bar areas, with large squishy sofas, designed for lounging on whilst catching up with family from 4 different countries. It is the staff which make this hotel memorable. They do a really great job of looking after their staff. We lost one of our family members in the Vatican and she had to make her own way back to the hotel. When she arrived at the hotel alone the reception staff took care of her and cheered her up. We used the hotel for restaurant recommendations and to arrange a guide for the Vatican. Again, every recommendation was excellent and the guide whom the organised was outstanding. Breakfast wasn't outstanding, but was perfectly fine and again served by competent and very charming staff. The dining room is lovely and lends itself to leisurely breakfasts. The only thing we were disappointed by was the gym. It is not vey well equipped and 2 pieces of equipment were out of use when we were there. However this was a very small negative in our stay. All in all we had a great stay and would definitely use the hotel again, as well as recommend it.

Great historical hotel

This is a beautiful classic hotel . It could use a little TLC but the whole it was a wonderful experience although the they could have used some AC in the hotel even though it was the middle of winter . It was boiling in the hotel. That also need an upgraded internet and Tv system with more English speaking channels .
