Rome break

Posted May 7, 2012
Pros: Cleanliness and friendliness of staff
Cons: One poor restaurant recommendation.
Location: Back street close to easy access to main sights
Excellently positioned for visiting the city sights. Basic accommodation very well presented and at a reasonable price.

Aweful breakfast!

Being in Italy and having bad coffee is a real downer! Orange juice tasted like Tang and tasteless pastries.

Great hotel, great location, great service

Posted Jun 7, 2011 on Hotels.com
This hotel was excellent. The room was spacious, and for 'budget' accommodation, nicely appointed. While the breakfast was not extensive, there was sufficient variety to cater for all tastes -and the food was always beautifully fresh. But where this hotel was truly 'first-class' was in the service and advice provided by the friendly and helpful staff and in its location - we were able to walk to most places! If we were to visit Rome again, we would have no hesitation in revisiting the Hotel Modigliani.

The Modiliani, A Delightful Roman Reposa

Posted Aug 3, 2010
Based on our printed reservation, the taxi took us directly from the train station to the Modigliani. We received a warm reception from Stepheno. Be sure to read the welcome publication. It's delightful and informative. Our room, easily accessed by elevator, was a refreshing and comfortable repose in an excellent location for exploring Rome. The breakfast was exceptional. The hotel provides a very comfortable lounge, breakfast room, and garden room including wine and "cake" service any reasonable time of day. Take a look at the hand made ceramics available. We purchased one for our "moveable feast." At our request by e-mail, the staff arranged our reservation for the Galleria Borghese where you can find beautiful Bernini sculptures. As you leave the hotel for your walking tours, orient yourself carefully. We got lost often inadvertantly adding to our imersion in the ambiance of this magnificent city. We took a taxi to the Vatican and enjoyed a walk "home' by way a delightful Piazza Navona, the Pantheon, the Spanish Steps, and the Trevi Fountain. We highly recommend the Modigliani. Say hello to Stepheno for Steve and Vicki. Grazie!
