The ratings of others led me to book this hotel, and I have to say, it was a great three day stay. The staff was helpful in giving directions, answering questions. They told me about the bus to the airport for six euros versus taking the shuttle or taxi. The hotel was very clean and I would definitely recommend it to others.

Great Location!Posted Oct 18, 2012
We stayed at Hotel Prati from Oct 7 to 14 2012. We found the hotel to be well suited for our needs. It has a great location-easy walk to Vatican City & only one bus ride to Ancient Rome. The staff were always pleasant & friendly-Luigi was especially helpful! Our room was clean & comfortable. The air conditioning worked wonderfully! The windows in our room appeared to be new which helped block out the little bit of traffic noise tthat here was. Our only complaint would be the size of the shower. My spouse & I are average sized & we found it tight. To us, that was only minor though. We always had hot water & lots of water pressure.

Good hotelPosted Sep 4, 2012 on Hotels.com
It was good except for being locked in the hotel for ten minutes when trying to catch a bus to the airport because the porter was not at the desk.

its ok for a budget holidayPosted Jul 16, 2011 on Hotels.com
The reception staff were very helpful and available 24 hours. The bedroom was very basic, no fridge or mini bar, but it did have air con, a phone and a safe, and it was clean. the room was serviced daily. The location was ideal only a 200 meters or so from the vatican, very close to the metro, and within walking distance of lots of other sights. The only main let down was the breakfast. It was fruit juice, coffee and a croissant. That was it. Overall, okay if you are travelling on a budget but I wouldn't recommend it for family holidays or romantic getaways etc.

A good place to land after sightseeingPosted Jun 2, 2010
The hotel is very clean, and very compact. I wasn't looking for a four-star hotel, I needed a place to stay as a solo traveler. Prati was a very good choice. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean and well-maintained. The bed was firm, and that covered the basics. The room was small, but well-arranged with a surprising amount of drawer space. The neighborhood was surpriisingly graffiti-free (Rome suffers greatly from graffiti) and well-presented. Shopping was 3 mins away, transportation 5 mins. There was wireless connectivity available, though it was spotty at times. The front desk is manned 24-hours a day, and the staff there was friendly, and very helpful while giving me a map and drawing in where I was, where I wanted to do, and giving me helpful information about how to best go from place to place, especially the Vatican, which is only about 5 minutes walking distance away. I felt very safe walking in the neighborhood, and found it to be a great, somewhat quiet location with great connections to other parts via the cross-streets. The breakfast is a pastry and coffee, which was fine - a continental breakfast and larger room to me aren't worth the 50-100 Euros more they would cost at a ritzier hotel. I was very pleased with the hotel, and the staff, who were very patient with my limited, Berlitz-Italian. If I have the opportunity to be in Rome again, I will definitely try to stay at the Prati.
