Peaceful centrally located hotel

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Location. Ambience.
Cons: Nothing
The hotel is well situated- near to the station terminal for easy transport from the airport, and near the metro station for travel around Rome. However all the major sights were within walking distance. The rooms were spacious with plenty of original features and overlooked a quiet courtyard. Bathroom was spacious and clean. We had a suite with adjoining rooms, perfect for a family with older children.

Well positioned Hotel

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Breakfast room overlooking garden. Unfortunately because of building works (not noisy) access to garden was limited.
Cons: More staff at breakfast. More tourist information readily available.
Location: Opera house is next door with door from Hotel to theatre. convenient bus and metro stops very close and therefore all attractions easy to reach.
On busy street but we had quiet room at rear of hotel overlooking garden. Room was not as good as those shown on web site but presumably expedia book the cheapest rooms. Room had all facilities and was clean and well managed. Breakfast was good apart from being understaffed on a Sunday with over 400 guests. Restaurant was good with pianist most evenings. Staff were very good. Transport links were very easy for station on arival and departure and all sight seeing. Computer available for guests with internet axis and printer.

Weekend break to Rome

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Location is great, and sense of grandure which was appropriate for a visit to Rome.
Cons: Breakfasts were included in the room price which was good, although the food could have been a little better, for example fresh fruit salad.
Location: The hotel is centrally located within 20 minute walking distance from the Collusem and Forum, and very close to the Metro and main railway station.
I was travelling to Rome for a weekend to see the major sights with my wife and two teenage sons. The Hotel was a good choice for us mainly for a large, but friendly Hotel in the centre of Rome.

Elegant, traditional, welcoming.

Posted Apr 13, 2014
Pros: Spacious and elegant with good service.
Cons: Only comment would be clean mugs would have been welcomed in our room each day, we had to rinse them out ourselves.
Location: Central location could walk to many sights also close to metro. Taxi and buses on the doorstep too. Usual city noise and bustle outside.
Thoroughly enjoyed our short stay. Super room very large. Staff very helpful good service at all times. Good quality breakfast of a wide choice. Lovely restaurant at affordable prices.

A reasonable 4 star for Rome

Posted Apr 7, 2014
Pros: Location, elegant room.
Cons: Tea/coffee making facilities in all rooms and a breakfast where the hot food was actually hot
Location: It was wonderfully located within a hundred metres or so from a Metro station and even by walking it is possible to visit most of historic Rome.
The hotel was well located for the sites. It was on a busy road but we asked for, and got a quiet room so we didn't have any noise problems. Those at the front may be less fortunate. But this is a city hotel so some noise must be expected. The hotel was quite old but the room in which we stayed was clean, elegantly decorated and well up to city 4 star standard. The down side was that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room and a warning that use of your own kettle was not permitted. The choice of buffet breakfast was adequate but the 'hot' selection was actually tepid at best. All that said, we would stay there again.

Location is convenient and breakfast is good

Posted Apr 3, 2014
Pros: Location and breakfast
Cons: Room conditions
Location: shopping, dining,
We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights, it has a good breakfast buffet and in a very convenient location, very close to train station. But on the second night, we found out our room has a lot of ants, after notifying the front desk, they cleaned it up after we left the room.

Pros: The bar area for meeting friends, the breakfast and position.
Cons: The beds were a little hard.
Location: Very central to attractions. Great reasonably priced authentic Italian restaurants to eat at nearby.
First time in Rome and The hotel was was a perfect setting to start the holiday. Staff were spot on, breakfast great, room comfy and clean. The position was very central with easy walk to the main railway station.

Slightly faded grandeur

Posted Mar 29, 2014
Slightly faded grandeur overall. Rooms were well appointed but very hot - winter heating is always on in Spring! Common rooms spacious and pleasant. Breakfast buffet so-so and crowded on weekends. Well situated near central rail terminus and easy walk to all the attractions.

Good location

Posted Mar 28, 2014
One good thing about this hotel is the location, almost all the major sights are at a walking distance of 10 to 15 mins. The room was big and spacious, but lacked basic amenities like drinking water and tea/coffee maker. We used the glasses on one of the nights for drinks, however, the glasses were not cleaned or replaced on the next day and were lying on the same spot as we had kept them after use. The breakfast as well had limited options to choose from. Overall, would suggest this hotel for, again, location of the hotel.

Lovely hotel in good area

Posted Mar 23, 2014
Although only 5 mins from station, we got a mini bus from the airport as there were 8 of us. The hotel is impressive; lots of marble and plush furniture. Generous sized rooms, good, clean, bathrooms. Breakfast extremely comprehensive and excellent service. Afternoon tea was superb and Alexander in the bar was a positive delight. Thoroughly recommend this hotel and fantastic value.
