Good for the pricePosted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: great location, nice breakfast
Cons: bigger shower would have been nice
Location: Centrally located-we were able to walk to most of Romes sights. The Metro is convenient to get on if needed.
The Raffaello was just fine but from the photos and description we expected a place that had more of the personality of a former palace. Not a big deal but just a little disappointing. The location was great-we could walk to almost all of Rome's sights easily and if they were farther afield there was easy access to the Metro. There are a variety of restaurants nearby for dinner-in fact, it seemed as if Via Urbana is an upcoming trendy area of Rome. If you stay here, walk down the street in the evening for lots of dining options and a bit of boutique shopping. Our room was clean and comfortable-compared to other Euro hotels in this price range that I've stayed in, it was spacious! The bathroom was interesting. It seemed a bidet had been added just inches across from the toilet so that to using it was sidesaddle or throwing a leg over like mounting a horse. I think with the bidet 'upgrade' the shower was reworked into a corner. We had just gotten off a cruise ship and our shipboard shower was about 2x the size of this one. I am 5'5", wear a size 4 or 6 (so not a large person) and it was a very tight fit for me. An average size man would have trouble getting the door closed. Maybe they size people up before assigning this room? Being an American, I would have prefered a bit bigger shower rather than the bidet The staff were efficient and helpful. The breakfast was good, served in a spacious dining room and the breakfast staff were very welcoming.

After two weeksPosted Jul 19, 2014
This was by far the best hotel after tracking through Europe on a budget. Clean , pleasantly classic, and close to sites and transportation . Appreciated the early check-in and hearty continental breakfast. The scrambled eggs and cappuccino were great. Staff was friendly and welcoming, especially Elema. I will return again.

Lovely quiet hotel recommended.Posted Jul 16, 2014
Quiet and roomy enough for 4 (2 adults, 2 teenagers 16 ), with 2 rooms plus a decent size bathroom with a good hot shower. Clean towels provided everyday was nice as was the toiletries that were also replaced daily. Air conditioning good in both rooms, even had remote control! Free wi-fI and pillow choices were an added bonus. Staff were friendly and helpful, giving us brief directions to popular sites on arrival. Location we thought was great, as it seemed a quieter part of the city but still within 10-20 minutes of the Colosseum, Spanish steps and the Trevi Fountain (THOUGH WATCH OUT as currently being restored and has no water and lots of scaffolding until 2015!). The Terminus (Metro Station) only 10 minutes away ideal for Vatican and St. Peter's square. Found a couple of nice restaurants and Gelato (ice cream) shops nearby as well! Breakfast offered good selection including some gluten free options. Doesn't have tea/coffee facilities in room but lovely quiet seating area near reception with these facilities. Thank you to all staff at Raffaello for making our holiday so enjoyable. We would definitely come back again!

nice hotel , good location and great staffPosted Jun 8, 2014
Pros: location , staff and breakfast
Cons: a small bar would have been nice
Location: roman forum and trevi fountain within 15min walk. lots of food etc.. within 5 mins
This was our first trip to Rome and feel we found a really good hotel. The hotel itself was very clean and quite small and based in an old building which we liked. The interior is well laid out and reception area is smart. The rooms were maybe a little dated in decor but kept very clean by the staff. Room was standard size for a 3 star city hotel , bathroom was small but had everything we wanted. Shower was always hot if needed which ive found to be a rare in alot of hotels. The free WIFI was very useful and the breakfast buffet was great. There was a very good selection for breakfastand it was a great way to start the day. Very good and the staff at breakfast were always friendly and curtious. The hotel location was great for us , it was between 15 -20 walk to most things. There are lots of coffee shops and resteraunts within 5 mins. More than enough to choose from. At night there was no noise in the hotel it was very quiet despite how close it was to many things. The only thing we caught the metro for was the Vatican and that was a very simple thing to do. The hotel staff were excellent , always willing to help and would greet you with a smile. Overall i think all the staff here were excellent , the location is excellent and the breakfast is a great benefit of this hotel. The rooms were not huge but more than enough for us , i only wish they had a bar to sit and chill at the end of the day.

Excellent hotel in a very central location.Posted Jun 5, 2014
Excellent hotel in a very central location within easy walking distance to many of Roma's attractions. Surrounding area also has very reasonably priced restaurants and bars, making the lack of restaurant/bar facilities within the hotel less of an issue. Staff were very friendly and exceptionally helpful especially after our flight home was cancelled due to a wildcat strike by italian baggage handlers.

Good hotel good locationPosted Jun 5, 2014
The hotel was close to Termini and to the colosseum and forum (15 minutes walk). It was on a quiet street that had plenty of restaurants and bars and a fabulous gelateria nearby. Staff were friendly and polite. The rooms were quite small and the soundproofing between them wasn't great but al in all a good base for a busy city break.

Pros: Breakfast was good
Location: Far from everything .
Very small shower. Room was facing a very dirty and loud street. No help from Maximo the receptionist . I paid so much for each night and very disappointed with the choice .
