It was in a fab location! East walk to the metro! The only issue was having to unplug the fridge to use the microwave. And a kettle would have been a great help!

The wifi works in some areas and not at all in others. They've made nice updates to the bathrooms. Bed was comfortable enough. Bus stop right out the doir. Metro station (Cipro) about a mile away (down hill). Good restraunt $$$ about a block away (up hill). In a middle class neighborhood. Grocery store and place to have clothing cleaned just down hill. Far from main Rome attractions, but metro makes it much easier and only takes about 30 minutes or less to be there.

The staff were overall all good and accommodating. The only downside is during breakfast, it gets busy and seems like 1 staff is not enough to man that area, we needed to sit on a dirty table just to be able to eat. Otherwise, all good

Nice property. It’s further from Vatican City than they say. More like 20min uphill on the way back, but safe and clean. No AC, but nothing in Italy seems to have AC.

We stayed in the large 4 person room, with closet kitchenette, which was very charming. The room was set near the top level, with a tiny balcony overlooking the tile roof top to the busy street below. It had a trundle bed in the main level, with a queen bed in a rustic room above. The bathroom had a bidet, which was a curiosity I liked, but only a tub and sprayer rather than shower, which my adult children unfortunately avoided using. The breakfast was from 8 to 10 am, with a wonderful selection of pasties, red orange juice and a machine which dispensed a variety of delicious coffees. The Cipro Metra stop is a fifteen minute walk to the bottom of a steep hill. The 913 Svetonio bus stop is across the street, but is over used by a weird system of 'don't get caught without a ticket ', but most take their chances. If you are lucky enough to get on, you may not be a able to push past to get off! The management was very nice, and we enjoyed the location and value of this old Villa. Our only negative was with their system of electrical usage. The room door key card also fits in a slot inside the door, which activates the electricity. This means, you cannot set an alarm clock, or leave anything to stay cold in the fridge when you go out. Also, I should have packed a coffee press - no coffee maker in room.

Good location but needs attention
Not central but near public transport so you can reach anywhere in Rome. A couple bars nearby and a pizzeria 2 minutes walk up the road that accepts people until 11pm, which helps if you arrive late. Room was clean but bedspread had seen better days and that is what you notice as you are at the bed as soon as you open the door. The electricity works through the room key slot. We were offered no other so when you went to breakfast or out for the day, the fridge stopped. A glass-top table is at the door so you keep knocking into that unless you put something on it at the corner. Shouldn't have this in a small room. The three main aspects the hotel can look at: Room allocation. We had a small double bed room. Our nephew arrived a day later and was given a double room comprised of two rooms and a balcony just for him. Water - the temperature was lukewarm at best. When I asked about this, he said it was due to demand (we were not a full hotel). I said it is not comfortable to wash long hair in tepid water so he said someone would look at it - nobody did. The nephew had a shower at midnight, which was lukewarm. Hardly peak time. Breakfast - Plenty of cakes and bread but not really local. No fruit, some brought their own, yoghurt would have helped. Juice is out of a machine. There was a savoury choice cased in pastry. This was gone as soon as put on the table. I would stay there again because of the location but not room 7, shower at 5am, BYO fruit

The place was clean. It has good bathrooms (terrible hair dryer so bring your own). The beds are pretty hard. The location is kinda far from the center of Rome so be prepared to pay about 17 euros for a taxi to get you to and from the center of Rome (I do admit I should have done more research on the location so my bad there). Overall it’s okay. But the biggest thing, DO NOT schedule for them to pick you up from the airport unless you are 100% sure that your flight will not be delayed!!!! Communication was great with them until the point where my flight got delayed. I communicated immediately that my flight was going to be late but they still “sent” someone and they made me pay 55 euros as well as the 49 I had to pay a different taxi to take me there. The manager argued that I sent the email too late at night (1-2 am in Italy) and he wasn’t there and he had already scheduled the driver to go. My flight was supposed land at 8 am and according to him he was not there early enough to get my message and stop the driver from picking me up but every single day that week there was someone in the office at 6:30 am... save your money and book somewhere closer to the center of Rome. Not coming back here.

This is a good value hotel within walking distance to the Vatican Museum. The bathroom was a little tight, but for the price, I can't really complain. We had a standard apartment and the cooktop came in handy a few times. The breakfast was a nice surprise. There are several good restaurants within walking distance.

Was surprised to see there was a kitchenette and fridge in the 'apartment'. There was cutlery and crockery as well as pans for cooking on the two-hob electric cooker. A microwave too. The bathroom was a decent size. Downsides: the shower glass didn't have a rubber bottom to prevent the water pouring out onto the floor so we had to use a hand towel to soak up the water. Also, I didn't see much point in having a fridge to keep things cool if the electricity to the fridge was cut when the room card was removed from the electricity slot. The breakfast was Italian. That means: cake and pastries for breakfast washed down with coffee, orange or blood orange juice. There were also small rolls with butter/jam. No cheeses or meats (as we've come to expect from 'Continental' breakfasts). This doesn't mean we weren't happy with the food. It was hearty and filling. We really only used the hotel as a base but it was well connected to the bus network and only 15 mins walk from the Vatican.

The room was very clean, great amount of space (considering Europe), and comfy bed. A/C unit, shutters to block out light, and wall heaters. We had two burners, dishes, and a little sink if we wanted to stay a night in and cook beyond the anticipated microwave and mini-fridge. Lots of mini marts in the area. It's a 5 minute walk to the Metro downhill, so going uphill after a full day of walking was a little tedious.

This hotel was quite far from the centre of Rome, but near to a bus stop. The room was comfortable and clean, but cold as there was a window missing and only shutters to keep out the cold. The bathroom was very small and the shower cubicle a struggle to navigate. Apart from that, we had a very pleasant stay.

Basic hotel, not near anything...
The first two days, where okay. Spacious (for Europe) rooms, comfy bed, weird half door shower that leaked everywhere. It got cold in the room at night time, after we couldn’t find a thermostat anywhere in our room, I asked the reception desk into which we were told that the heating was set for the whole building and it was fine. We just grabbed a extra blanket and made due with it. The evening of the 3rd night we came back to the room after a long day of site seeing, and upon opening our door we were greeted by an infestation of thousands of tiny insects crawling underneath the spare bed in the living room are. Obviously disgusted, we got our hotel reception person and he told us to switch rooms. Upon moving all our stuff into that one, I noticed more bugs, and a 4 inch centipede! I was livid, so I went and asked for a room with no bugs, or I wanted a refund. We were given a different room, which I was happy to say, was big free...but it had exposed wiring in the bathroom, a 3 minute hot water heater, a tub that leaks from the bottom everytime you showered and noticable mold growing all over. Also, the walls are paper thin, and we had extremely loud neighbors, so we were kept up most nights till 2-3am. The hotel is okay. I probably wouldn’t stay here again. It’s not near really anything, hardly any restaurants, about a 15 minute walk uphill to get back to the room.

Highly recommend, especially for the price!
This hotel is off the typical beaten path for most tourist destinations in Rome, but is well worth the bus ride. It's in a nice area of town, clean room with plenty of space (more than you will get in most European hotels), and we even had access to a little patio area outdoors. There aren't really a lot of amenities (no pool, breakfast, etc.), but if you're out sight-seeing all day, that doesn't really matter. The staff were friendly and helpful, and had no trouble communicating with us in English. It's about a 15 minute walk to the Vatican from here, and you can take the city bus to get close to the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, and other popular attractions. With stops, it's about a 20 minute bus ride.

Good hotel convenient to Vatican museum
The Villa Tassoni is not really a hotel, it is a residence, room and daily cleaning, located in a friendly neighborhood convenient to visit the Vatican. To access the Cipro subway station you can take a bus across the street- less than a five minute ride - or walk for about ten minutes. The rooms are of a good size and most -- all? -- have a small kitchen. The neighborhood is safe and there are markets, restaurants and coffee shop nearby. It is not close, however, to the well known touristic spots of Rome. But just within a ten-minute subway ride.

A great week at Villa Tassoni!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Expedia and fellow travelers, I had the pleasure of staying at Villa Tassoni last week when in Rome. It is a nice hotel. The location in great, there are many restaurants and shops located very close. You are within hopping distance to the bus stop. The Metro station is within walking distance as well as the Vatacan. You get a voucher for a free breakfast every morning. The staff was truly gracious. They were so very helpful with connecting to the Wifi and getting a tour arranged or a shuttle scheduled. I will be back to Rome and I will stay here again! Thank you RD Plano, Texas

Average hotel
Liked the separate bedrooms, full kitchen, high ceilings. Frequently there was no hot water for showers even at off peak times. Front staff was friendly. 10 minute walk to subway, and hotel is uphill. Kind of a dark walk at night but we felt safe overall in Rome. Supermarket close by. Breakfast close by, croissants, coffee, but can buy yogurt there, pick up fresh fruit on way to subway. Recommend taking cab to airport, not bus as it's too long.

Overall fairly happy. Pros: location relatively convenient Good price Rudimentary cooking set-up in room Spacious apart from bathroom Cons: no A/C One of the two lights in the bedroom didn't work (electrical problem rather than bulb) The bathroom is a very narrow width and even being slim it was a challenge The TV didn't work There weren't any washup utensils or soap for the kitchen area

Disappointing
I had booked this hotel based on all of the positive reviews it had. Well that was a disappointment. The bed was really uncomfortable and possibly had bed bugs. The shower was so small I couldnt move inside. It came with a promised kitchen yet the stove did not work. Nothing was provided to clean the dishes. Also the hotel staff was not the friendliest. Beware of the tax fee the hotel has that they do not even bother to mention. I had asked one staff members the night before I left if I needed to handle anything before checking out and he said I was good to go. The next morning a staff member practically runs downstairs and demands I pay the tax fee while I was waiting for my shuttle for the airport. Other people had left without paying. Overall a horrible stay and made my stay in rome really miserable. Save yourselves and do not stay here!

When we arrive they needed to fix the shower because it was broken and after shower the whole bathroom was under water. Overall I'm not so happy with the hotel after the holiday.
