Cosy, home-like hotel in the Italian suburbsPosted Nov 26, 2013
I got a junior suite. Looks just like the photos for the hotel and is very cosy. Good free wifi coverage. Location wise it is a bit of a pain o get here on foot or even by taxi, you have to be decent at reading a map. From a big picture perspective, it's 20 mins away from the Colosseum and the Vatican City, that's awesome in the big scheme of things. Would come here again.

A Magical ExperiencePosted Nov 17, 2013
Location: Perfected located for visiting all the famous sights including the Vatican, Trevi Fountain, The Spanish Steps, the Colosseum, the Pantheon etc.
My husband and I went to Rome for our 25th wedding anniversary and chose Hotel Santa Maria because it was in Trastevere. We were not disappointed. The hotel was amazing, the staff very attentive and could not have been more helpful and professional. Our room was very large and tastefully decorated, it opened onto a lovely terrace and sun lounge area and we found it very peaceful and had it all to ourselves in the evening. We both enjoyed the very generous breakfast every morning and the surprising free snacks every evening. As it was our anniversary the hotel presented us with a lovely bottle of bubbly to celebrate and I received a free glass of wine for my birthday. we will definitely be returning to this lovely hotel again very soon. The hotel is well placed for visiting all the fantastic sights that Rome has to offer and it surrounded by some lovely cafes.

charming oasis, fantastic hotelPosted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: if you want hustle etc, step outside the gate; inside is a relaxed, calm, lovely escape, with its own courtyard & great staff.
Cons: give us more days to enjoy it......................................
Location: trastevere gives you all the great feel for rome-churches,piazzas,restaurants,but also still has a village feel to it. hard not to enjoy the place
four day break in rome made so much more enjoyable by a great, friendly hotel. 100 yards from the tourist crowds & buzzing piazzas of trastevere is a calm, lovely hotel with it's own enclosed courtyard to sit & enjoy the sun, with a coffee, wine, etc.. hotel santa maria makes it impossible not to chill & relax after a day hitting the sights, grab an early evening cocktail then delve into the quaint alleyways for an evening meal. we don't mind walking, helps to get a feel for the city & see the sights, & we were no more than 15 minutes easy stroll to trevi fountain, pantheon, & maybe 30 minutes to Vatican or colleseum- but all of it through historical city centre rome .loads of taxis are available as well close by. if we travel anywhere we love to try a new place & experience, would not go back to rome without using hote santa maria.

Wonderful hotel 14 minute walk to main centre.Posted Sep 28, 2013
This wonderful hotel is a tranquil retreat just minutes from main attractions. It has a wonderful roof top terrace. A courtyard nestled I between the hotel rooms where you can have your breakfast sitting under orange trees, or have an aperitif before wandering around the local streets which come alive in the evenings with traditional restaurants. Hotel staff were attentive and helpful at all times. Can't wait to return

Perfect hotel for exploring TrasteverePosted Sep 15, 2013
Pros: A quiet oasis amid the noise and bustle of Trastavere.
The hotel is about 100 yards from the Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere which is the area where we wished to stay. The hotel is Bed & Breakfast only but there are so many eateries of high quality in the area that that is all that is required. The continental breakfast was excellent and the staff who served it were brilliant. The room was fairly basic but clean, air conditioned and very quiet. We would both stay there again. From the hotel we were able to walk all over Rome easily (we are both in our 70's).

Great location, friendly staff.Posted Sep 13, 2013
We've found our home base for any future trips to Rome. The location in Trastevere was perfect, the staff were very helpful, and the courtyard was an oasis. The fresh croissants and other breakfast foods were the icing on the cake.

Charming in great neighborhoodPosted Sep 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Clean rooms surrounding courtyard with helpful and friendly service. The neighborhood was fun, vibrant, and full of great restaurants. I had a bad cold while at Santa Maria and the staff went out of their way to make me comfortable.

Wonderful stay at Hotel Santa MariaPosted Aug 27, 2013
Pros: The outside space was great, in the courtyard and upstairs seating area. The accommodations in the room were what we needed. Breakfast was perfect.
Cons: Although the rocks in courtyard are pretty, they tend to be noisy to the rooms directly adjoining.
Location: Great restaurants and shopping in the neighborhood. Lots of choose from, not disappointed with any we visited.
The hotel was charming, the room perfect for a family of two parents and two teenagers. There was plenty of room for all of us, and outside space for everyone to relax and unwind after busy days of sightseeing. The neighborhood was fantastic; great restaurants and shopping. I have already recommended it to others.
