Alright hotel in a very good locationPosted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Location was great, room served it's purpose.
Cons: The bed's were incredibly hard and we were only given one thin pillow each. The bathroom was poorly lit and the shower curtain was covered in mold.
Location: Very close to the Roman Forum and Colosseum as well as Termini.
A friend and I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights and there really isn't anything to complain about beyond the small room size. We were given a "superior" room that had a balcony on the forth floor. The wifi reception on the forth floor is dodgy at best but I wasn't in Rome to constantly be utilizing the wifi so that wasn't a big issue for me. The bathroom was so small one could hardly move around. I suppose this is typical of European hotels so I shouldn't really be surprised. The air conditioning worked very well and was lovely after a long day of trekking through Rome in August. The breakfast they served wasn't anything fabulous but it served its purpose. The location is what really made this hotel worth booking. It was a ten minute walk from Termini and another ten minute walk to the Colosseum and Forum. There are plenty of great restaurants in the area and the gelato shop just down the Via Cavour is to die for. The staff are all very helpful and are always on duty.

Great hotelPosted Jul 29, 2014
The hotel was lovely and in a great location. It was not over priced and the staff were great. Everything was clean and organised. The room was on the small side but otherwise could not be faulted.

Great little place close to the colosseum!Posted Jul 16, 2014
Pros: I liked that the hotel was small as in few rooms. The rooms had AC, TV, fridge, wardrobe, just right.
Cons: The only thing that needed an update would the bed. It was not as comfortable as I would have liked.
Location: The metro stop Cavour is right down the street. Lots of restaurants, churches, shops, and of course the coliseum and the forum are close by .
Arrived in the early afternoon. The room was ready and waiting for us. The worst part was we were on the third floor. There is no elevator, just a circular staircase. The other guests actually helped us bring our suitcases up to the room. The location is prefect and right close to the coliseum. The staff was very helpful and friendly. They gave us suggestions for how and where to go. The breakfast was good. Pastries, yogurt, cereal, coffee, juice and more. The room we had, we shared a bathroom right in the hall. The hotel was off a large street, but no noise. The price just could not be better. I would be happy to return and suggest this hotel to others. A nice side of Rome to stay in.

Great service, good location, nice small hotelPosted Jun 23, 2014
We loved this hotel. Very good location, close to every single place to visit in Rome. The staff was very friendly and the breakfast was delicious. I would recommended to everyone. It is only 10 min. walking from the Roma Termini.

Great little gem of a hotel, I highly recommendPosted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: Friendly efficient staff are always happy to help
Cons: Tea and coffee making facilities in the room
Location: the location was fantastic just a 15 minute pleasant walk from the Coliseum and 5 minutes from the hop on hop off bus stop
This hotel was a great find, the staff were fantastic and made you feel valued, the rooms were basic, clean and comfortable which is all you need as we were out exploring beautiful Rome all day. Special thanks to Jon and his reception team, the customer service given was outstanding prior to and during our stay. I will be definitely be staying here again and have no hesitation in recommending the Saturina.

Perfect for the frugal travelerPosted Jun 5, 2014
Pros: The terrace.
Cons: The beds are hard.
Location: Location is perfect. On a small closed off street so it's fairly quite. Walking distance to the Termini.
The hotel location is great, close to the coliseum and the termini. Breakfast is included in the price. The hotel does not have an elevator so fare warning. The rooms are tiny as are the bathrooms but that is very common in Rome. Our room on the top floor had a shared terrace which we enjoyed greatly. I would stay here again and would recommend it to any frugal travelers. You go to Rome for the experience not for the hotels.

Hotel close to Central stationPosted Jun 1, 2014
Staff: The staff are great, very helpful and friendly. Facilities: Considering its a 2 star hotel we are not expecting alot but the hotel needs updating due to age. Cleanliness: The staff always and tend to clean the room everyday. I actually asked them to skip a day as I do not see a point of doing it everyday. Comfort: The room given to us is the separate room (quadruple) adjacent to the hotel leveled to the reception. Good to a family of four as we do not need to worry about carrying all the luggages to the higher leveled rooms (no lifts). It is also worth mentioning that during our stay it is quite noisy in the early hours of the morning. It could be delivery vans stopping to the adjacent restaurant or cars and motorbikes getting lost as the hotel road is a part closed oneway street. A fully insulated doors and windows should overcome this but at the time of our stay unfortunately it is not comfortable. Nonetheless if you can live with the above, looking for a central location and for an affordable place, I will still recommend this hotel.

Overbooked, sent me to another hotelPosted May 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
When I arrived, I was immediately told the hotel was overbooked and I would be moving to another place for the first night. The other room they found for me was about 3 blocks away, and was cramped, and smelled bad, but the real inconvenience was having to repack my stuff the very next morning and move in the middle of my trip. Even though I booked about 6 hours before I arrived, there were several other available hotels I could have chosen that morning at similar price. Had Saturnia emailed me as soon as they knew about the overbooking, I could have made other plans. But they didn't inform me until the moment I showed up at 4:30pm. By then of course it was too late and I was stuck. If a hotel can't coordinate their booking system sufficiently well to maintain an accurate website, they should at least issue a partial refund of the room fee. They insisted they could not do that. When I asked to speak to the manager, they said the manager would not be available until MAYBE the next day. Of course, this meant even more valuable time spent dealing with a problem that should never have happened in the first place. The room itself was clean and comfortable, but I only got to inhabit it for one of the two days I paid for.

Old with little charmPosted May 8, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel is old and needs some TLC. Our room was unbelievably small (our bags could not fit anywhere in the room) and had the most minuscule bathroom I have ever seen. .My husband and I had booked only one night in that hotel- lucky us. But the hotels staff is very kind and the location (close to s. Maria maggiore) very convenient.

Very friendly and helpful staff, lovey breakfasts, however we would like the room and the bathroom to be slightly bigger.
