2 days stopover in RomePosted Sep 1, 2014
Fantastic traditional hotel in ideal area within steps of Spagna, Borghese gardens, Via Veneto. I had booked a suite with terrace and received a complimentary upgraded to a larger junior suite with huge terrace. The room was clean, traditional, and spacious. The staff was superb. The hotel is very private without a large lobby or sitting area on traditional European style. I had also used the spa and gym facilities at the sister Parco Principale for free which is an amazing serene spa oasis in the center of Rome.

Small and elegant ....Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The staff, most especially Jonathon, are super accommodating.
Cons: The showers work extremely well. However, the size is very small.
Wonderful old style hotel, located in the Villa Borghese area.

Luxury Hotel in great locationPosted Aug 1, 2014
Pros: Friendly helpful staff, the location and decor.
Cons: Nothing it was perfect
Location: Trevi fountain and Spanish steps close by along with good shopping and restaurants.
Lovely authentic hotel well positioned for exploring all of Rome but in a quiet location. Staff could not have been more helpful. The views from the restaurants were amazing but the food very expensive. Some great restaurants very close by.

Great area, great staff recommendations!Posted Jul 27, 2014
The hotel is close to so many things, and many many sights are within walking distance from the hotel, you will walk a lot in Rome! -two words: San Marco (restaurant) close to the hotel -the metro is the way to travel around the city for sure -Borghese gallery, pre book it, and go. Just amazing. -Buy your Vatican Museum tickets in advance and skip the 4 hour line! -This area has a lot of tourist trap restaurants (menu's that have lots of * beside the items, just get out quickly, the food will be terrible) -Food is very expensive in Rome if you are planning on sitting down somewhere for lunch or dinner (40 Euro for lunch, 60 Euro for dinner) -Mirabelle restaurant at the top of the hotel was the meal of our lives, but it was incredibly expensive. A world class meal at a world class restaurant, expect to pay around $500 for two to dine. -The staff at the hotel were awesome at all times, very high level of service, go to them with any questions, they will be happy to help.

The Splendid Splendide Royal!Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Re-furbished rooms and breakfast room. Friendly, efficient staff Location
Cons: Restaurant is extremely expensive
Location: Near top of Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Most of the major sites within Rome are within easy walking distance.
It was our second stay at this hotel in 3 years and we were not disappointed. The reception staff were polite and friendly with check in taking the grand total of about three minutes! Our deluxe room on 4th Floor was nicely furnished and very well decorated, clean and tidy with a view over the road and into Villa Borghese next door. We did think that the road may be a little noisy at night but not at all even with the windows open. We stayed on a B&B basis again and were very pleasantly surprised at the refurbishment of the breakfast room on 6th Floor. Last time we came it was looking a little tired and old fashioned but it is now nice and bright with a bit of an art deco theme going on. The Splendide Royal is ideally situated for Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and two very close metro stations which means seeing all the sites is easily achieved. We will be returning!

Loved this hotelPosted Jul 15, 2014
We couldn't of been happier here. The room was gorgeous and it was the basic room. The breakfast room and food was so elegant and had a view overlooking all of Rome. Great location. Loved everything.

Beautiful hotel close to Spanish stepsPosted Jul 11, 2014
Cons: Nothing. It was a perfect stay.
Location: Walking distance to Spanish steps and subway station that can take you to all Rome destinations. Villa Borghese park is also right across the street.
From the moment you enter there is staff there to welcome you. Your luggage is taken care of while you check in and the staff was friendly and helpful. My family enjoyed the included breakfast buffet the most. It was a large variety of hot and cold with sweet breads, fruit and cheese - something for everyone. The Mirabelle restaurant is pricey but such a treat to experience. The terrace overlooks Rome and the sunset is absolutely magical. I would stay here anytime.

Great for families. Excellent staffPosted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Breakfast buffet was excellent. Rooms were spacious. We are a family of 5, and they placed us in adjoining rooms and upgraded our rooms.
Cons: WiFi should be complimentary
Location: Easy to walk to metro within 10 minutes. Lots of restaurants. Walking distance to shopping areas and Spanish Steps
Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful- always smiling. They recommended a great restaurant , advised on transportation, and gave directions to various places. Rooms were grand.
