Pros: everything
Cons: maybe a couple of English channels for the tv not that we had much time to watch but it would have been nice.
Location: very good location for the most important things to see in the inner city
I booked this hotel for my wifes birthday, and i only have praise for the staff and everything associated with it it was really 5 star..having stayed in others that do not really come upto the mark.this hotel was superb they could not do enough for us and the restaurant ....well the taste buds are still singing you have to go and try its fabulous..it is also very close to all the important places one needs to see in the inner city thanks to all who made my wifes birthday something she will never forget...

nearly perfec

Posted Sep 25, 2014
Pros: Decor, service, comfort, food, location
Cons: AC system
Location: lots of things, near to good restaurants in via veneto and piazza barberini, 10 minutes walk to spanish steps and via del corso, and in front of park
Everything pleasing, location (in front of pines of Villa Borghese park, near to via veneto and spanish steps), confort, cleanliness, nice seating at mirabelle restaurant on the 7th floor, excellent breakfast, food and room service. A small minus was the AC, not working properly, as the internal control does not move, keeping the room at 24 degrees, not exactly pleasant given humidity in Rome. After 3 appeals, they sent someone who fixed it and reduced the temperature to 22 degrees on the last night.

Comfortable and Well-located

Posted Sep 10, 2014
A clean and comfortable oasis within easy striking walking distance of all points of interest and shopping that cluster around the Spanish Steps. Plenty of accessible public parking available nearby and easy to get to without violating any of Central Romes restricted traffic zones. This hotel will remain high on our list for future visits.

2 days stopover in Rome

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Fantastic traditional hotel in ideal area within steps of Spagna, Borghese gardens, Via Veneto. I had booked a suite with terrace and received a complimentary upgraded to a larger junior suite with huge terrace. The room was clean, traditional, and spacious. The staff was superb. The hotel is very private without a large lobby or sitting area on traditional European style. I had also used the spa and gym facilities at the sister Parco Principale for free which is an amazing serene spa oasis in the center of Rome.

Small and elegant ....

Pros: The staff, most especially Jonathon, are super accommodating.
Cons: The showers work extremely well. However, the size is very small.
Wonderful old style hotel, located in the Villa Borghese area.

Luxury Hotel in great location

Posted Aug 1, 2014
Pros: Friendly helpful staff, the location and decor.
Cons: Nothing it was perfect
Location: Trevi fountain and Spanish steps close by along with good shopping and restaurants.
Lovely authentic hotel well positioned for exploring all of Rome but in a quiet location. Staff could not have been more helpful. The views from the restaurants were amazing but the food very expensive. Some great restaurants very close by.

Great area, great staff recommendations!

The hotel is close to so many things, and many many sights are within walking distance from the hotel, you will walk a lot in Rome! -two words: San Marco (restaurant) close to the hotel -the metro is the way to travel around the city for sure -Borghese gallery, pre book it, and go. Just amazing. -Buy your Vatican Museum tickets in advance and skip the 4 hour line! -This area has a lot of tourist trap restaurants (menu's that have lots of * beside the items, just get out quickly, the food will be terrible) -Food is very expensive in Rome if you are planning on sitting down somewhere for lunch or dinner (40 Euro for lunch, 60 Euro for dinner) -Mirabelle restaurant at the top of the hotel was the meal of our lives, but it was incredibly expensive. A world class meal at a world class restaurant, expect to pay around $500 for two to dine. -The staff at the hotel were awesome at all times, very high level of service, go to them with any questions, they will be happy to help.

The Splendid Splendide Royal!

Posted Jul 23, 2014
Pros: Re-furbished rooms and breakfast room. Friendly, efficient staff Location
Cons: Restaurant is extremely expensive
Location: Near top of Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain. Most of the major sites within Rome are within easy walking distance.
It was our second stay at this hotel in 3 years and we were not disappointed. The reception staff were polite and friendly with check in taking the grand total of about three minutes! Our deluxe room on 4th Floor was nicely furnished and very well decorated, clean and tidy with a view over the road and into Villa Borghese next door. We did think that the road may be a little noisy at night but not at all even with the windows open. We stayed on a B&B basis again and were very pleasantly surprised at the refurbishment of the breakfast room on 6th Floor. Last time we came it was looking a little tired and old fashioned but it is now nice and bright with a bit of an art deco theme going on. The Splendide Royal is ideally situated for Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, and two very close metro stations which means seeing all the sites is easily achieved. We will be returning!

Loved this hotel

Posted Jul 15, 2014
We couldn't of been happier here. The room was gorgeous and it was the basic room. The breakfast room and food was so elegant and had a view overlooking all of Rome. Great location. Loved everything.
