Perfect location; great all-around hotelPosted Aug 17, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed at the Hotel Teatro Pace in early August 2013. We took the bus from Rome Termini and had no problem finding the hotel, which was about three blocks from the bus stop. The hotel itself is perfectly located -- five minutes from the Pantheon and the Piazza Navona and a 15-minute walk from St. Peters. Admittedly, we enjoy walking, but we also walked from the hotel to Rome's historic Jewish district and the Colosseum. We also really enjoyed the room -- we were on the fourth floor and had a balcony, which was lovely in the morning. Additionally, the hotel worked hard to check us in early, since we arrived on a mid-morning flight. The shower is a bit small, but the room was clean and wonderful. Like other reviewers have mentioned, we didn't always get all the elements of the breakfast we ordered, but it was always more than sufficient for the morning. I cannot rate this hotel highly enough. What a wonderful experience!

Great hotel close to Navona squarePosted Aug 10, 2013
Pros: Location, cleanliness, proximity to many attractions.
Cons: Too bad there is no elevator. The fourth floor is a long way to go.
Location: One and a half blocks off Navona Square, within walking distance of the Vatican
Hotel Teatro is conveniently located close to Navona square, where artists sell their work every day, and there are tons of restaraunts and shops nearby. On Sunday we even found a farmers market open just off the square where we could buy fresh fruit and veggies. The hotel was clean and comfortable and we even had an adorable balcony to enjoy out included breakfast. ER would definitely come back.

Great locationPosted Aug 3, 2013
Cons: Lack of wifi
I booked this hotel for a city break for my partner and I. We had room 401, air conditioned with a small sunny shared terrace overlooking a church and roof tops of Rome. The location was ideal as we were able to walk to all the historic sights of central Rome. The hotel is in a busy, very historic area with little cobbled streets with pavement cafes and bars at every turn so great for going out in the evening. Its just round the corner from Piazza Novona which in the evening has caricaturists, artists etc and a large fountain in the centre so is a meeting place for tourists and Romans alike. The hotel itself however is in a quiet street and is very quiet, the staff very helpful and accommodating. It was exceptionally hot in Rome during our time there and we really appreciated the air conditioned room but were not able to make use of the terrace as it was so hot. When I booked i was told the room came with wifi which unfortunately it does not. The wifi only goes as far as the first floor. There are alcoves on the stairs for you to sit and use wifi but it makes it difficult for private conversations on Skype etc. We did not find the stairs a problem however there is about 90 steps to the top floor so would be an issue for anyone with walking difficulties.

Great location & servicePosted Jul 10, 2013 on Hotels.com
The hotel was clean and comfortable, location was right in the middle of town, you can walk everywhere worth seeing. You can select your free breakfest the day before and they will bring it your door at your specified time. Free wifi in the lobby. If you are looking for grand luxury perhaps look else where, but it is reasonable good, rooms are pretty small, but if this doesnt bother you, it is defiantly value for money

Unique small hotel in a great locationPosted Nov 5, 2012
Pros: The atmosphere of a small, unique hotel in a restored palace and in a very happening part of the historic center.
Cons: The shower stall is quite small. (I know, but we liked the 92 stair workouts.)
Location: Two blocks from the Piazza Navona, surrounded by many great places to eat and drink and walking distance to major tourist sights.
if you have no problem with 92 stairs to the fourth floor, the junior suite is very nice -- and with a terrace. Our luggage was delivered to the room and picked up at departure which minimizes the stair problem. Breakfast delivered to the room is also nice. We arranged limo pickup and return with the hotel. It is about 10 euros more than a taxi but very convenient and comfortable. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious except for a rather small shower. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. I have seen comments about only Italian TV stations. You can get CNN International but it is not explained when you arrive and I only found it by chance. You tune to channel 3 which is RAI 3. Then if you hit the 3 on the remote it changes to a channel called S 15 which is CNN. We were there during Sandy and being able to tune to CNN was a big plus. We would definitely stay there again especially because of the excellent location right in the middle of a lot of great bars, cafes, and restaurants. Bar de Fico is a block away and overflows with a young, affluent-looking clientele on weekend nights. There was a really good live rock/jazz trio in eTabli -- just half a block from Fico -- and with no cover charge. And you can eat quite well in any number of nearby restaurants. For touristy stuff you can walk to everywhere -- the Vatican, Castel Sant Angelo, Trevi, Spanish Steps, Forum, Pantheon, Trastevere. We did not take one taxi in six days seeing sights.

Noisy dungeonPosted Dec 15, 2011 on Hotels.com
We stayed in one of the ground floor rooms of the "hotel" and had virtually no sleep for the entire two nights of our stay. Interestingly, the soundproofing from the street was excellent but spoiled by the fact that people are having prolonged, loud conversations into the early hours of the morning (past 2am) with seemingly little concern from night staff who were participating as well. The sound echos round the whole hotel making decent sleep (even after a heavy day) virtually impossible. Luckily, it was also winter and we weren't expecting to enjoy panoramic vistas over Rome, but there was absolutely no natural daylight coming into the room whatsoever. Nicknamed, "the dungeon" the small window to the bedroom let no light in and would be a massive disappointment during any other season. If you want to stay in a youth hostel, I would suggest booking and paying for one directly.

GREAT Hotel!Posted Nov 15, 2011 on Hotels.com
We saw this hotel listed in our "Top 10 Rome" book and thought we'd check it out. It was fantastic! The price was great, much lower than many other hotels in Rome and the location was perfect. It's tucked behind the Piazza Navona in an area surrounded by restaurants. The streets are narrow, so we had to walk down the street from our cab when we arrived because they couldn't drive to the door once the restaurants had set up their outside tables, but it was hardly an inconvenience. The staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and newly renovated. We also found the hotel to be much quieter than we thought it might be. We would definitely stay here again, lots of charm with modern conveniences, great price and great location!
