Backpacking holiday

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: Basic but more than enough for what we needed, with very friendly staff.
Cons: Aircon, instead of a fan.
Location: Good location, not far to walk to main attractions or metro.
My friend and I were backpacking around Europe and hence wanted somewhere reasonably priced to stay. Hotel Texas was well suited to us as we were on a budget, however if you want a air con and other mod-cons you should perhaps pay a little more and go somewhere else. If you are like we are however, the hotel was plenty, with free wifi (very useful for contacting home!), in addition the hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful. I couldn't be more pleased with how we were treated when we stayed there. Thank you!

Conveniently located, central Rome hotel

Posted Jul 2, 2014
The hotel is fairly central with easy access to Repubblica and Termini. Big room, we had opted for a private bathroom which was very clean. No tv and even though they mentioned air conditioning at time of booking, we had a fan in the room. Didn't complain as the fan was pretty decent but during summer, would recommend booking a hotel with aircon. Good value for money, polite and accommodating staff. Will recommend.

One night in Rome

Posted Jun 2, 2014
Travelling alone- so single room, on first appearance was dingy but everything was spotless and practically brand new! Staff were incredibly friendly, eloquent and helpful. Only downside- no one on reception when I left to double confirm check out all ok and no receipt when I paid.

A lovely place to stay.

Posted May 28, 2014
This is a lovely hotel that is within walking distance of some of the main attractions such as the Spanish steps and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The best thing about this hotel is the staff who are so helpful and friendly. On arrival, the receptionist gave us a great map and went through exactly how to get where we wanted to go as well as recommending some of the best things to see. In our short stay there, all the staff we met made us feel very welcome. Our room was basic but was a good size and very clean. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a great little place to stay.

For what it is, it was great

Posted May 21, 2014
For a 2 star hotel, this place was really nice. The staff were helpful, and the facilities were kept clean. The hotel is a bit older and in a working office/apartment building but you still felt like it was a great place to stay. The distance is a tad further than expected, but it was only a 15 minute walk to Trevi fountain. If someone is looking for a good priced and comfortable hotel, then go for it. It is right by the bus line that takes you to heart of all of the action.

Cheap hotel close to the train station

Posted May 12, 2014
This place isn't bad, if you are traveling by yourself and just need a cheap room to stay in for the night. It is not the Ritz. It is small, they have wifi, and you have your own bathroom. Bring your own shampoo.

Great location for seeing the sights of Rome

Posted Jan 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
We stayed for 3 nights in hotel texas in a room with ensuite. The room was large with space for clothes storage and accessories. The staff at hotel were friendly and helpful recommending places to eat and visit in Rome. The room has no kettle but when iI asked for some boiling water it was provided free of charge. The location is a 10-15 minute walk down towards the Colosseum area and there is a bus number 64 which goes to the Vatican from close by the hotel. Alternatively the metro is also 5 minutes away.

Excellent Location for central Rome

Posted Oct 30, 2013
Pros: The hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was a good size. Shared facilties were spotless, never a queue! Corridor actually glistened,
Cons: Location of hotel could be better signed. No tea making facilities, would have been useful. Furniture a little old and tatty but clean and functional.
Location: Very safe, quiet, pleasant area of Rome, easy to walk to all main attractions. Spar nearby!! Also restaurants and shops. Short walk to Termini.
We stayed at this Hotel for three nights in October 2013. The hotel was quiet, no traffic noise. Lift a little noisy at night! The staff were pleasant and the cleaner very pleasant and did a good job. We were able to visit all the main attractions by walking from the hotel. We were also able to get all we needed from shops in the local area.
