Good hotel and locationPosted Aug 25, 2014
Staff are very friendly and helpful. Standard room was quite small, but with high ceilings making it feel more spacious. Good location for Roman forum, but be advised of a 10-15 min walk in either direction to get in (you can't access it from via di San teodoro). Would definitely book again.

ConvenientPosted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: Rooms. Decent breakfast.
Location: Close to sites
Close to the sites. Take buses...easy, inexpensive and walk to closest metro still a bit. Eating options better near sites...not many near hotel. Internet weak. Staff speak good English. Eating options also around circo massimo...

Nice hotel for city breakPosted Aug 25, 2014
It's in a good quiet location about 1mins walk to metro stop and 15 to the coloseum and forums. The hotel is nice and clean. Good continental breakfasts. The bar staff are very friendly and we ended each day with afternoon drinks in the courtyard which was lovely. For some reason we has a ground floor room that was for disable access, which is fine except the shower was for disabled access and flooded the bathroom if you had it on full force. Left the floor very slippy!! The room was spacious no kettle or tea and there was an annoying flashing light on the smoke alarm sensor which could keep you awake all night. The staff were pleasant but when we asked for dinner recommendations nearby they were unhelpful and just kept suggesting we eat in the hotel restaurant!! I would stay here again as it is a great location and easy to get around from. Nice and quiet too!

Charming blend of old and modern.Posted Aug 23, 2014
The Kolbe is a lovely hotel. It has a excellent reception. With a nice bar and restaurant with doors leading to a terrace/garden with tables. Two lifts. The corridors are wide with an arched ceiling and are very atmospheric. It is easy to imagine what it was like as a convent. Modern bathrooms with plenty of lights such as electric shaving mirror and spotlighted main mirror. There was no bath. But that was no problem. The beds are memory foam and very comfortable. The pillows weren't so good. The room and bathroom were spotless and cleaned every day. My only concern of this otherwise fine hotel is the location. It is very quiet. Especially at night. But we heard no bad or cautionary news. And taxis are plentiful. The fare to Terminee station is €10 and the walking time to the Alter of the Fatherland is a leisurely 10 minutes. @20 minutes to the Colosseum. And @30 minutes to St Peters. If you are going to any of the main attractions and you haven't pre purchased tickets. Either go first thing before 10am or mid afternoon @3.00. The queuing time for the Sistine Chapel is 2 hours if you arrive after 11.00. But at 3.00 the queue is small. Beware of eateries in or around Vatican. Such as the Caffe Vaticano. Two salads, two chicken sandwiches, two drinks and a ice cream was an undigestable €111.00. But apart from that. Rome and The Kolbe hotel were great.

Lovely hotel in a great locationPosted Aug 14, 2014
The hotel was perfectly located in the centre of Rome, where we were able to walk to all the main attractions in max 20-30 minutes. The staff were polite and always willing to help, and the rooms were very modern and kept well clean. The continental breakfast buffet was good too! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and would go again.

Pros: It was very modern in an old building.
Cons: Carpets in corridors need cleaning/replacing.
Location: To many to mention - great location, lots of historic sites within minutes. Also lots of bars etc.
Very Good Location close to the historic pedestrianised core (5 mins walk maximum).

Nice Clean Hotel, next door to the Roman ForumPosted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: Very Clean and Tidy rooms, staff were polite and nice breakfast (hot and cold).
Cons: Have the restaurant or room service open longer than 10PM.
Location: Roman Forum, Capitol Hill and Colleseum is five minute walk. All other attractions are a little further and within walking distance.
Hotel Staff are friendly and on arrival was given complimentary drinks in the bar. We booked a family room for 2 Adults and 2 Children, the room was large, comfortable and very clean. Only minor negative point is the lack of restaurants nearby (in case you don't fancy eating in the hotel every evening). However, if you like the walking and don't have young children then not a problem. If you don't mind the walking, then you can get to see all the main historical sites by walking, It took us 30 minutes to walk along the River Tiber to the Vatican which was very enjoyable soaking in the sites of Rome. Overall nice hotel, friendly staff and very clean rooms. Would use again if in Rome.

Good location!Posted Jul 22, 2014
Pros: Good location, friendly helpful staff, good breakfast,
Location: Colosseum, Trevi fountain, Roman forum
Excellent location close to colosseum, and Trevi fountains roughly 20 minutes walk away. Great views of roman forum. Views from room not excellent though we decided to stick to standard room as opposed to one with view.
