Not a hotel

Pros: Private bathroom
Cons: Customer service aspect, or signs notifying you how to check in.
Location: It's at least a 20-30 minute walk to trastevere where the good restaurants are. We did find one about ten minutes away that had good pizza.
This should not be advertised as a hotel it was more like a small room in an apartment. It was extremely far from anything interesting in Rome so you had to buy a bus ticket and figure the system out or walk which we did one day and it was over an hour from central city. The bed was not comfortable at all and the pillows were like rocks. Even without taking a long shower (max 5 minutes) my boyfriend could not take anything other than a freezing cold shower. The neighborhood was a little nerve racking but there is a supermarket close by. When you get there there is no reception only some guy who must live in the apartments so we wandered through the different buildings trying to figure out where to go, not something you want to do after a 9 hour plane ride. We finally found him he showed us the room and then came back sat down for ten minutes and explained the bus system but the map doesn't show you all the roads from the central city to the hotel so he connected it with a printed out one from mapquest, too much work. He was also very awkward especially when the room is so small.
