Excellent location close to the colluseum.

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: Rooftop pool and bar, breakfast and location.
Cons: For the price and location - nothing.
Location: The hotel was close to the colluseum and about a 20 minute walk from the pantheon. Bus tours/stops and the Metro station were about 5 minutes away.
We have just returned from a very enjoyable weekend in Rome where we stayed at the Mercure Roma Centro Colosseo. The hotel was in an excellent location just 5 minutes from the Colluseum itself and had everything we needed. The hotel was excellent value for money. Hotel staff were very helpful. I would recommend paying a bit extra and including the breakfast when booking. There was a wide selection and it set us up perfectly for the rest of the day. The icing on the cake was the swimming pool on the roof where we could cool off in the afternoon (temperature in Rome was about 30 degrees plus) after some morning sightseeing. Rooms were clean and bottled water was supplied in the mini bar. All in all a very nice hotel in a great location for a price that didn't break the bank.

Lovely Hotel close to the Colosseum

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: Rooftop swimming pool and terrace bar.
Cons: nothing in particular
Location: The hotel is very close to the Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill.
Lovely Hotel with Colosseum view from rooftop swimming pool and terrace bar. Our room also had a view of the Colosseum. The hotel is a great place to stay, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast on the rooftop terrace every morning in the sunshine was a lovely way to start the day. After spending the day exploring Rome it was lovely to come back and spend some time relaxing in the rooftop pool. The rooms were very clean and comfortable with nice bathrooms. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in Rome.

Great location, very clean! Terrible Breakfast.

Posted Aug 23, 2014
This is the perfect location for sight seeing and walking distance to most sites. The room was very nice with the exception of having less than one foot clearance between the foot of the bed and the wall. This would not be a good choice for anyone with balance issues or bad knees, ankles as you may injure yourself trying to get thru. The staff was very courteous and friendly but not very helpful. They don't act put out with helping when asked questions, they just give very bad information that can result in a lot of wasted time. The rooftop pool is a joke. It's like an above ground pool and they shut it down at 7 so you can't even enjoy or photograph the sunset over the coliseum. If the pool and the excruciatingly slow elevator were better, this hotel would easily be a 5. The breakfast is awful and extremely overpriced. I would still stay here again and was happy with the value.

Modern hotel in good location

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: Clean, modern , air conditioned, roof top pool and terrace bar.
Cons: Evening meals available at the hotel.
Location: 300m from the colosseum and Metro. Restaurants about 200m away. Generally a residential area. You will have to travel/walk to all the other sights.
Relatively small , clean, modern hotel well located for Colosseum. Reasonable prices. Well air-conditioned throughout. Rooms very small for 4* but typical for Rome. Stylish, comfortable and recently renovated. Beds comfy. No family rooms though so unsuitable for families unless able to split into separate rooms (which we did with teenage children). Small rooftop pool with spectacular views a bonus. Get there early if you want one of the few sun loungers. Continental breakfast on rooftop terrace good value and a nice way to start each day. No facilities for evening meals (very limited room service menu) but many good restaurants about 200 metres away (towards Colosseum). A few very small "mini - mart" shops in the area for drinks / crisps but be warned - very limited selection. Unless you want crisps for tea you will have to go out to the restaurants or eat before you go back to the hotel. Evening drinks on the terrace bar a lovely way to end the day. Recommend to anyone except families with young children or those who like large rooms.

Well placed for Colloseum and Forum

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Good hotel with close proximity to Colloseo only 3 minutes walk. Roof top terrace bar and pool are excellent (service a bit slow). View great and near to tram / bus stops. Rooms a little small but comfortable.

A great family place to stay near the colosseum

Posted Aug 10, 2014
This is an excellent place to stay for a family visiting Rome . The hotel is very close to the colosseum & forum & with great bus access to all the other sights ( right outside !) The roof top pool makes it perfect for kids & parents alike with a stunning view of the colosseum . Breakfast was excellent . The room we had was clean & modern.

great location

Posted Aug 8, 2014
Pros: location, decor and swimming pool
Cons: breakfast could be cheaper, particularly if you opt for the uncooked option
Location: all the main sites including the bus tours
we found the location and the decor very agreeable. Being able to tour the Colosseum and the forum by walking directly from the hotel was great.

Excellent location, 5 minutes from the Colloseum

Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: The location was excellent the room I was allocated was very nice and quiet, comfortable and had an excellent shower. the satff were very pleasnat and
Cons: As mentioned above, perhaps better elevators, long waits at peak times..... well at any time really
Location: Easy walking distance to the Colloseum, Forum and centre of the city really good location. Lots of restaurants and bars within easy walking distanceJu
Very pleasant 3 night stay. room ready on arrival (approximately 2.00pm). Staff very helpful and pleasant, roof top swimming pool and sun deck and a bar area. Didn't use other hotel facilities. Better value and more choice at local eateries. only real negative is the elevators seem unable to cope with the volume of traffic

Nice hotel in a good location

Posted Aug 3, 2014
For what was supposed to be superior room it was very small. Our room was on the 1st floor with only a view over the hotels back yard which wad disappointing. However from the roof top terrace it was an amazing view and made up for the room view, also good location.
