Amazing hotel pick!!Posted Jun 23, 2014
Cons: Ancient elevator and slippery marble stairs.
Location: Termini (main train and metro station), 30 minute walk to Colosseum, bars, restaurants and convenient stores.
Reasonably priced, 10 minute walk to Termini (train and metro), double security (pass card entry for building and hotel floor), very nice accommodating hostess, clean and modern suites, and amazing breakfast (upgraded continental breakfast).

Quaint guest house in the centre of RomePosted Jun 17, 2014
Pros: The location was perfect and the staff were friendly and accommodating.
Cons: The breakfast times could maybe be a little earlier.
Location: Prime location for bus and train station. It is a ten minute walk to the Roman forum and Colosseum area.
A friend and I stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of April and it was lovely. We had difficulty finding the apartment block initially as the sign was small on the outside of the building. I had emailed the hotel manager Judy before arrival as we were going to be a little later than the check in time specified as I had read that there wasn't anyone at reception all the time. Our room was lovely, clean and spacious enough for the 2 of us. The breakfast was lovely also, as there were cold meats, cheeses, cooked eggs as well as a selection of cereals to choose from. However breakfast was between 8am and 10am and we found that not everything was laid up ready as preparations were still being made at 8.30am and we wanted to be out early enough to get all our sightseeing done. This hotel is great if you want somewhere close and friendly to have as a base on your trip and it is close to most of the sites, train station and bus station.

Excellent place. Lovely staff. Sooo friendly and hPosted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: The staff. Location for sights and access to Termini
Cons: Air conditioning didn;t seem to work, but that can be fixed!
Location: Ten minutes from Termini. Great ice cream parlour on Via Principe Eugenio. Excellent restaurants nearby: (1) Tempio de Mecante and (2) Trattoria Monti
This is an excellent place. Five clean, modern, en suite rooms with fridges plus a breakfast room, all taking up the 3rd floor of the building, which is shared with other residents and businesses. There is a lift. To find the premises, if you start at the north end of Via Merulana where there is a big church (Basilica Santa Maria Maggiore) and walk south, it's on the left shortly before the first left turn. The wooden door is just past the UniCredit building and has a small sign next to it advertising Merulana Inn Residence. I can't speak highly enough of the staff. They were so friendly and helpful.

Would recommend this hotelPosted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: The hotel as I said was very comfortable and clean, the staff helpful and pleasant.
Cons: There is a very small lift which we found to be cramped, but not insurmountable
Location: As I said earlier, the hotel is central to all interesting sites, restaurants. and we walked round Rome for 6 days, very contetedly
The Hotel/Inn was comfortable and clean. The aircon, did break down on the 6th day, but everything else was fine. The staff were helpful and pleasant especially Judi, who we had dealings with the most. The hotel is situated centrally to all sites of interest, which are mostly in easy walking distance. This is a second visit to Rome, and I have to say it was a beautiful and interesting the second time around, but there are more pavement sellers (who harass you) than there were before, and this does take the shine off the experience a little. My 2 granddaughters for which this was their first visit had the time of their lives and very much would like to go back

Proximity to all public transport was excellentPosted May 16, 2014
Cons: Breakfast time earlier eg 7am. And one card for front door, entrance to units and room entrance we felt was not very secure.
We found this guest house central to all public transport and tours. Clean Locationwith small fridge which was good for us. It was a good breakfast but 8am was too late for tourists who had to be at various locations to catch tours therefore we could only eat a full breakfast once in four days.

awesome.Posted Nov 22, 2013 on Hotels.com
Close to colloseum, forum, palatine, train station and plenty of cafés. Good breakfast, great service from the owner. We stayed for four nights and were so comfortable being there. Very pleasantly surprised with the size of the room. Just sitting here at home writing this I'm daydreaming about being back at Merulana.

Good location and valuePosted Nov 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
This B&B was very nice and clean. Know that you have to pay 2 Euros per night, per traveler up front when you check in, because it isn't included in the price (its the tourist tax). Not a big deal, but we were put off by it at first. Some people complained here about Judy being gone during the day and so they couldn't ask questions, but we did not find this to be the case. She was there all during the morning and when we checked in, and we were able to get all questions answered no problem, just know that you won't have access to her at night, so think of what you need early. There was a laundry mat around the corner which was nice since we were traveling for awhile. Breakfast was also a nice mix of things, the earlier you get to it, the better food you will get (the eggs usually run out quick), so just be aware, but there is always more than enough. The room was nice and comfortable, the shower water did not get very warm though. Overall, good location too, we walked the whole city from there.
