Great location, small bathroomPosted Aug 17, 2014
We loved staying this close to St. Peter's, and would stay there again if we went back to Rome. Just a few steps to several great, reasonably priced restaurants, too. We had one if the corner upgrade larger rooms- but it was still modest sized by American standards and the bathroom was quite small (but very nice). Hotel staff was excellent.

Nice hotel close to St. Peter's squarePosted Apr 22, 2014
This hotel is truly beautiful, however I wouldn't recommend it to someone who enjoys a lively atmosphere. It's very quiet and feels almost like being in a library. Staff are friendly but sometimes gave incorrect information e.g. Where to get a taxi on Easter Saturday and where to access St. Peter's Basilica. I felt this sometimes wasted our time. Room service prices are a little expensive however the breakfast included in room price caters for all tastes. I'd highly recommend this hotel to people who enjoy beautiful bit quiet surroundings whilst having the added bonus of being situated in front of Vatican City.

Would Stay Here Again!Posted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: Location, location, location!
Cons: The only negative is the distance from NY!
Location: What could be better than being a stone's throw away from the Vatican! We walked all over Rome from this hotel and found it was very easy to do so.
The Palazzo Cardinal Cesi was wonderful! The staff was pleasant, happy and helpful. The foods at breakfast and in the courtyard were all delicious! And the location is the best - steps from the Vatican and within walking distance of everything you need to have a great time in Rome!

Hotel Palazzo Cardinal Cesi RomePosted Apr 11, 2014
Pros: The staff and location and the inner courtyard.
Cons: The breakfast coffee.
Location: Use hop-on/hop off bus to tour Rome. Tickets available from hotel for 15 euros for 3 days. Basilica, Vatican museum and Dome adjacent to hotel.
Lovely hotel, very central with excellent customer service. The building is very old and has plenty of character. Particularly liked the inner courtyard which was a welcome respite after a day of walking in Rome. The breakfast was adequate but the coffee does need substantial improvement. The staff are lovely and could not be more helpful. The location is not quiet if you like to sleep with the window open (as we do) but it is a central city location so this is to be expected. There is a subway nearby and the people using it can be quite voluble - particularly when visiting for the Pope's audience early on a Wednesday morning! We used the small wine bar (Caffeteria "De'Penitetenzieri") a stone's throw away where we ate each evening and which served excellent coffee which we took advantage of each morning before departing on our travels. The food at the wine bar was good value and not too fussy.

Perfect for Vatican visitPosted Apr 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
Best location for Vatican, a few steps away, literally.Warm and personalized staff service in lobby and restaurant. Place too quiet and a bit creepy coz its old and very exclusive. Very grand hotel. Rooms are not noise proof so expect hearing other guests. Highly recommended

Right next to St. Peter's.Posted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: The hotel was in a good location. The breakfast was good and the staff was helpful.
Location: Located 50 yards or so from St. Peters.
This hotel had a great location if the focus of your visit is the Vatican and St. Peter's. It was a walk to the other areas, Forum, etc. but that lead us to find many churches and and unique restaurants. If you have walking difficulties you might need a taxi to reach thos areas.

What a location!Posted Mar 19, 2014
Pros: The location was brilliant and the sense of history of the hotel. The Cardinal Cesi is like an oasis of calm in the midst of the hustle and bustle.
Location: Found it useful to purchase the day passes for use on buses and tube, able to get farther afield and see some of the other sights.
A superb location for those wishing to experience the full majesty of St Peter's Basilica. What a view as we came through the imposing hotel front door, St Peter's literally on the doorstep! Lovely to wander the piazza in the evening, after the crowds had disappeared. Hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. The bathroom was small but everywhere in the hotel was really clean and well presented.

Excellent place, first rate. One suggestion, breakfast should start earlier than 7.30 am, maybe start at 7 am.
