Literally on top of Saint Peters squarePosted Jul 16, 2014
This hotel was an amazing find, walk out the courtyard across the road and you are in a saint Peters square. Although in Vatican City access to Rome is easy and we walked most days. It's rooms are very clean. Well equipped and the beds are honestly the most comfortable we have found anywhere. The staff could not be more helpful and will go out of their way to help you enjoy your stay. The food is wonderful, breakfast is well catered for, in fact there is so much choice. We also found our morning coffee was the best in Rome and we tried quite a few over the week. Add to this the history behind the building and Vatican connections this is our favourite hotel. Will be returning to this hotel. Thanks Paolo VI

When in Rome...Posted Oct 26, 2012
Pros: Location, location!
Location: Across the street from St. Peter's!
Hotel property is owned by the Vatican and sits practically on St. Peters Square! Walk across the street and your at the church! The staff was lovely, breakfast buffet was bountiful. Loved the boutique feel of the hotel! I'm a hotel snob and this one is a winner!

"Wonderful Stay"Posted Sep 27, 2012
Pros: The entire hotel
Cons: We were so please we have nothing for the "least favorite"
Location: The hotel stands directly on St. Peter's Square
What a wonderful experience for our first time visit to Rome. The Residenza Paolo hotel is housed in a monastery, in the heart of the Eternal City.A beautiful room overlooking the Vatican we could see the Vatican Guards from our room. It was everything & all we expected from the reviews we had previously read and also from what we experienced while spending 3 nights there. How lucky were we to stumble literally upon this beautiul hotel - the entire staff were way above anything we expected. Very efficient, helpful & answered any & all of our forever daily questions. Our room was spotless, cleaned and fresh towels brought everyday. The bathroom although small for American standards was efficient. The breakfast room located upstairs was elegant & very delicious so much so we looked forward every morning to a lovely breakfast before starting our day with touring. We would without any hesitation recommend this hotel, far from the chaos yet situtated in the heart of the city to anyone. We fully enjoyed our brief visit at the Residenza Paolo and would love to stay there again.

WOW! What view!Posted Feb 8, 2008
Spotlessly clean hotel just across a narrow street to St. Peter's Basillica. If you are looking for the best location to stay while visiting the Vatican, you can not beat this hotel. Very quiet at night. EXCELLECT service from all the staff members. You will not be disapointed. If you are looking for a luxury room with lots of space, you may be disapointed. We stayed in the most affordable room, but there was ample space for two. Plenty of very nice affordable restaurants down the street.I would return there without hesitation.

A great small hotelPosted Jun 26, 2007
This little hotel is very well located beside St. Peter's square and the Vatican. It is clean, well-appointed and very comfortable. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is within easy walking distance from the historic centre of Rome (which is just across the Tiber river). The hotel is also within easy walking distance form a number of small restaurants (trattorias) serving great food at reasonable prices.

SurprisePosted Jun 4, 2007
This hotel was an upside surprise. Literally a stone's throw from St. Peter's, we were woken by the bells in the AM to look out over a quiet green courtyard. A full breakfast was served in a very elegant dining room upstairs, and there's an outdoor terrace, beautifully planted, for drinks and light snacks in the evening--with the added bonus of the view over the piazza and cathedral. Very courteous staff, small but spanking clean room with every amenity a frugal traveler could hope for.
