Not good experiencePosted Jun 21, 2013
Pros: the garden
Cons: the reception
Location: near the famous touristic places and shops
we arrived at Hotel de Russie on June 17, 2013 at 14:45 hs, our room was not ready, so the reception ask us to take a lunch at de garden for their expense while the supervisor checking the room, within maximum 30 minutes. At 17 hs we were continued waiting and nobody did a solution when we claimed, till other person, Mrs. Marina, took over the problem and trying to give us a room. In spite of her courtesy and amiability, they did not have the room we have chosen and reserved by Expedia. She tried for several ways to compensate our deception, but me myself, did not satisfied. The Hotel de Russie must be congratulated for have Mrs. Marina as part of their team, but a hotel which intends to be 5 stars cannot allow it happens with the guests.

Elegant hotel but a little bit snobbishPosted May 7, 2013
Pros: The location, the rooms and the inner garden
Cons: The air conditioning sistem of my room was as noisy as a jet during the take off ! The Vapour Sauna was not in the right temperature (too cold)
Location: Perfect location, near Villa Borghese park and several other attractions (Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Spagna etc...)
Very nice hotel, very well located with very confortable rooms

Roman JewelPosted Oct 3, 2012
Great location,Though our room was on the small size, it was very comfortable. It did lack a dresser therefore we had to use the drawers located in the closet area which were quite small. Hotel staff were very anxious to please. The restaurant setting is beautiful. The staff and quality of food was excellent. The open dining area and gardens are a real jewel. We would very much like to return and we will be staying at this hotel.

Class actPosted May 3, 2012
Class act in every way but the food a bit too pricey. $35 euros is a bit much for coffee and croissants, but otherwise always an amazing stay. Staff and front desk people and concierge: top notch

Long WeekendPosted Jun 2, 2011
We do luxury and this was it. The entire experience was first class. The hotel is expensive but worth every penny. We had a suite overlooking the courtyard and intially thought it might be noisy in the evenings but it wasn't. The restaurant setting and food were superb. The staff and and service were great. We used the hotel car service to and from the airport which was more costly than local taxis but far less hassle. We will return. If your decision is whether to have an top of the range room somewhereelse or a traditional room choose the later and spend the difference on the excellent gin martinis. At 20 euro a piece they may make you cough but the taste is a very effecitive anaesthetic. We will return
