“Romantic Rome”
Located in a small town on the outskirts of Rome, this rustic retreat offers a feel for history and romance. Rooms are available in a rural setting or within the city walls. Although comfortable, the rooms are authentic to their history. Do not expect a full service hotel. However, you may expect personal attention. The location is within walking distance of the archeological site of Ostia Antica and a short train ride to the center of Rome. Make sure that they are aware of your arrival time since there is not someone on duty 24 hours a day. Also in walking distance are good restaurants and taverns with warm hospitality and good food. This place is recommended only for the romantic!
“DO NOT STAY HERE”
This place is a dump. We would not have even stayed here except we arrive late and tired. At 3:00 AM we lost power& water and there was nobody to talk to. The office was closed and they did not ansewer the phone when we called. DO NOT SYAT HERE...
“Rustic with a great restaurant and wonderful manager”
We were worried about finding the Inn because having been traveling for a while in Europe you learn to not take anything for granted. The metro line that takes you there from Rome was out of order and our cab driver got us lost on a rained out dirt road. We showed up exhausted, starving and irritated. The hotel manager (jacopo) was so sweet and accommodating that we cheered up pretty quickly. We walked into town (about 10 minutes from the Inn) to eat but everything was closed. One kind woman saw us walking around looking hungry and opened up her restaurant to serve us some delicious antipasto and lasagne. That night we went to the restaurant at the Inn (Kuchina) and our manager also was our waiter! The food and service were fantastic and we complemented the chef and waiter many many times in our broken Italian. We would both go back.
“Rome”
Too far from the restaurant where breakfast is served. good location from airport, only 15 min away.
“Don't stay at this hotel”
When we were shown our room, my husband and I noticed that it looked lived in.Food in the refrigerator and an unlocked adjoining door so I asked the man who had carried our luggage for a key. He said "You can't lock the door, I need to use the kitchen."It was his apartment and evidently we were expected to sublet from him.I explained to him that this was not going to happen. That I had a confirmed reservation for a private hotel room. The manager at first insisted they were full but then finally found a room. The next day a different person was in the office and we told her what happened. She was suprised because she sd they had several vacant rooms.Bed was so hard that the floor probably would have slept better. It was very cold and there was not heat. Ran out of hot water every time I showered. The light was out in the bathroom and was never repaired. We were miserable. This was the beginning of a cruise trip and I had also booked a night at this hotel after the cruise before our flight home.I cancelled it and rebooked at a different hotel.
“Can't wait to return....”
We did not stay in the main part of this lovely old hotel, but rather a room in the Country-Side ( by choice.) We were "escorted" there by a gentleman from the hotel, but prior to our going - we were provided with a basket of breakfast items that we could take to our room. So nice since were were leaving early in the morning prior to breakfast. The old farm house and accomodations were Wonderful,. The room was much larger than I expected, comfortable and clean. Horses, chickens, gardening on the grounds. A short walk to a restaurant where we had the BEST meal in all of Italy!! The Chef was the host, waiter, and of course cook.....What a Wonderful first nite in Italy!!! I would go back in a heartbeat and recommend it highly.
“Quaint”
Near Rome airport and Ostica Antica ruins, this is why it was chosen. Walk to the ruins, free if you are over 65. The hotel is 600 years old and quaint really describes it. Paid for a large room, very quiet, 4 poster bed, TV only in Italian. No hot water because it was turned off, fixed quickly (30 minutes). Nice town to walk around in. Good for early flight out of FCO. Must call taxi, none available in town. Lots of places to eat, bank nearby. Hotel is on the castle grounds, very picturesque.
“wonderful hotel in Rome”
This hotel is really nice and in an interesting area. i would recomend this hotel for someones last night or two in Rome since it is near the airport. the hotel restaurant is out standing also.
“I stayed next to a castle!”
I arrived very late but got excellent treatment, then stayed in a lovely "apartment" next to the on-grounds castle. It was a dream!
“Nice historic hotel”
I stayed at the country side of the hotel. I was traveling alone and this room is basically a cabin in the middle of the country side. I explained to the owner that this wasn't the room I expected and he was very polite in finding me another lodging to stay in. The room and bathroom was pretty spacious compared to other hotels I stayed in Italy.

The jewel of the area is nearby Ostia Antica. The architectural site gives a fascinating insight into the everyday life of sailors, merchants and slaves dating to the fourth century B.C.
