Decent place but no one seems to work there!

It's really tough to find the B&B. It has 3 different addresses, at 15, 25, and 31 on the same road, and none of them are labelled as 'B&B San Michele' - look for just 'B&B' or 'B&B Rustichio' or similar. Once you find the addresses, you have to buzz up - and usually no-one answers. I only found one person who worked there, which is how I managed to (miraculously) check in. I couldn't find any other staff members the rest of my stay. I had to check out with a disembodied voice over an intercom. Staffing aside, it's a nice enough place, the wifi is handy and the lounge rooms and deck make for good access to extra space. The bathroom was pixie sized though.

Served its purpose

We stayed the last two nights of our trip at this hotel before heading back home. The host was very helpful in introducing us to Rome. It's a little bit of a trek from the metro (10-15min walk), but it much closer by bus. The location might be worst part 9wish it was more in the city center), but the room served it purpose of a nice clean room with on-suite bathroom and unfortunate hard bed.

Great Stay - A Few Drawbacks

Posted Oct 18, 2012 on Hotels.com
San Michele a Porta Pia was a great little Bed and Breakfast on the fifth floor of an apartment / office building. A friend and I spent three night at the hotel, and were very happy about our stay. It was in a great neighborhood, and very secure, we had three keys to get into the building, hotel, and then room. The breakfast was great, assortment of cereal, yogurt, breads and a REALLY good bundt cake. It was 5-10 mins walk to the nearest metro station, a 30-40 min walk to Piazza Venevia, near the heart of the city. One of the largest complaints I had about the neighborhood, was that every night at about 1130-midnight, the trash truck came around and spent 15 mins beeping/dumping/crashing, and making a whole lot of noise. Besides that, the staff at the B and B were great and easy to talk to. The B and B was kept very clean and I never had to wait to the the one restroom either.
