“Would come back again”
Room is clean and the staff is helpful Very quaint hotel, breakfast - bread, danish, cheese, coffee and tea - juice is sort of a tang which I diluted every morning. Market just a block away made it easier to get fresh fruit and real juice. It suits the purpose, close to the train to get to all the sights in Rome, but far enough from all the tourist area.
“Does the job”
The Santa Costanza is a decent, older 3 star hotel in a largely residential area near a lot of embassies. I recommend it largely because of the price, which was dirt-cheap when I booked. Plusses: Free breakfast. Proximity to bus lines; the stop's just a few meters away, and two or three lines will take you directly to Termini. Not too far to metro (Bologna), maybe 1 km or so either by foot or bus. Carrefour grocery store a block away. Staff attentive to problems with room. People at front desk speak English quite well. Minuses: Limited selection of restaurants in the immediate area; you may have to take a bus if you're hungry for something other than Chinese food. Small elevator; smaller showers. Overzealous maid service; they entered my room to clean once when I was asleep.
“best 3 star I ever stayed in”
The staff was very friendly and very helpful with questions like where to eat, what bus to catch ,closest bankomat (atm) ect. They spoke very good English also. The breakfast was very adequate with ceral, pastries, rolls, meat tray and cheese tray .The bed was very firm, which I like, and there was always plenty of hot water when showering. The only thing they did not have was a coffee maker in the room, but we ran scalding hot water from the lavatory and used instant coffee.
“Great price , great location, great hotel”
Excellent
“Recommend for the price!”
When we checked in they were helpful and spoke pretty good english. The rooms were different but honestly after we stayed in another hotel in a different part of the city, I realized how nice they were. Its just their culture is different then ours and for the price, I would recommend them again! We honestly weren't in my room that much to worry about it! It was a safe area and quite! Easy access to the Metro about a 10 block walk.
“An ordinary hotel, but nice”
I can't say that I stayed in the best hotel in my life. The room was too small (for single person), the bathroom was tiny and the breakfast (included) was normal, but the cost-benefit ratio was favorable, whereas the cost of lodging in Rome is generally high. The room was quiet, always clean and with a good air conditioning. The hotel is 800 meters from Bologna metro station (a straight and quiet walk for 10 minutes), with a few dining options in nearby streets and a near Carrefour. Not near the main tourist spots, but they can be easily accessed by subway
“Rome's Santa Constanza”
This hotel was very comfortable. The staff was very kind and spoke english. The breakfast was included and it was very good. The elevator was small, but it was ok for my wife and me. Even though, there is not much in the neigborhood, bus #90 would take us to Rome Termini, from which one can jump to all turistic places. In all this hotel made our trip to Italy awesome.
“Mixed Feelings”
I said that I would recommend this hotel to others, but I do so with mixed feelings. For European standards, this hotel was very clean, the room was quite large and the breakfast was nice. (Think pastry, fruit, yogurt---not eggs and bacon). However, the front desk were not helpful and scolded us when we took our room key with us for the day instead of leaving it with them. No one reminded us of this custom and I completely forgot. Also, it is a good 15 -20 minute walk to the metro. The bus stop is quite close, but it is an express to Termini, where you must then get off and walk to a completely separate area to switch buses. Like I said, mixed feelings!
“A great budget hotel”
Clean. Friendly and professional staff. Santa Constanza is part of a larger hotel chain. I highly recommend it.
“overall good price / quality”
Fine for a brief stay. Easy to get to by car and convenient to get into the center of town. Good price /quality ratio.
