“Poor location”
When I Googled the hotel location it appeared to be comfortably located about 10 min. walking distance between two metro stations. However, only one metro station was accessible by walking, and it was not a pleasent experience at all. This is one of the most extreme cases between high quality of the hotel and an unpleasant and even dangerous neighberhood that I have seen. The hotel should have done more to improve access to local transportation.
“not impressed”
this was a horrible experience hotel was way to far from downtown rome, did not expect to spend a fortune on taxis. We were suppose to get 2 queen beds and did not. staff was rude in assisting me track down my luggage that was missing for 3 days. We were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary and they did nothing to give it a personal touch that we were looking forward to. We would not recommend this hotel find something downtown close to the train station you save alot in taxis

“Great hotel, not so great location, a bit expensive”
Overall, I thought it was a good hotel. However it was just a bit far from the city center. I had to take the metro and the bus to the hotel. I thought it was a bit expensive, especially the internet, and they charge for everything. But I was satisfied with my 4 nights of stay. Workers were very helpful and spoke English.
“nice hotel”
not bad
“Can't wait to go back but to a hotel near the city.”
Visited Rome and came back safe and happy. Overall, we had a great time, visited the Colosseum, the Vatican City (we saw the Pope!), went shoping & wine tasting (this was the best!), went on a dinner cruise by the Tiber River (awesome!), visited the Trevi Fountain & the Spanish steps, we ate at different little Italian Cafe's and many other things, we walked about 3 miles every day and it was Amazing! and we couldn't have done it without the help of Expedia, they helped us book our flights and our tours of the city. Thank you very much!
“Nice Hotel, only for business purposes as it is too far from down town”
It is a nice Hotel, but too far from down town, I stayed there only as it was recommended by the organiser for our Conference and Exhibition at Rome Fair Ground, servise was ok and they are offering a nice bus to take you to down town against 5 euro and return is free, also they are offering free access to internet at lobby which is good, Food was ok and breakfast is more than you expected.
“A GREAT SAFE PLACE TO STAY IN ROMA”
THE HOTEL IS A GREAT PLACE TO STAY IF YOU ARE GOING TO ROMA. AND YOU WILL REALLY LIKE IT.
“Not best for Roaming in Rome”
This hotel is a conference hotel. If you come to attend a conference and don't want to have easy access to the many tourist sites in Rome, then you will be satisfied. However, if you want to get into the city, it is difficult and rather expensive. The hotel offers a shuttle but charges a fee to use it. A walk to the metro is fairly unpleasant as you have to cross busy streets. I think the hotel is In need of some refurbishment. The pool was closed and air conditioning was intermittent during our stay. The hotel staff were very professional and courteous. They made the stay much more pleasant and were willing to go the extra effort to be helpful.
“Arriving in Rome for the first time. Magliana Station vs EUR Magliana Station”
The last Sheraton shuttle from the airport is 6:30 PM. I arrived shortly after that and had to look for other means of transport. I had read the Expedia reviews advising me not to take a taxi. So I asked people for EUR MAGLIANA? station and people said MAGLIANA? and told me to get on a train from the airport, and I did, and got off at MAGLIANA station, thinking I had cleverly avoided the long taxi fare. What I did not realize was that I should have gotten off at EUR MAGLIANA Station, which was not even on that train line. So I naivelz got out at MAGLIANA Station, which was a ghost town, at around 9 PM and a kind man who happened to be nearby used his cell phone and helped me call a cab for what I thought would be a 3 minute ride. I told the cab driver to take me to Sheraton Roma Hotel and started to hand him a paper with the address but he said he KNEW where it was, so off we went. And yes, he took me to the wrong Sheraton. The cab driver did not speak a word of English. It would take too long to tell how I finally got to the Sheraton Roma, but I assure you that you do not want it to happen to you. Make sure you go to EUR MAGLIANA and not MAGLIANA. And suggest to the Sheraton Roma that they provide the airport shuttle after 6:30 PM!

EUR, Rome, Italy: A couple of miles south of the city centre, EUR takes its name from Esposizione Universale di Roma, built for an exhibition in 1942. The bombastic architecture was then intended to glorify Fascism, but now is home to shops, cinemas and clubs and exhibitions. Within the marble halls there are also three very good museums, including the fascinating Museum of Roman Civilization.
