Great Hotel - just like stating in 1920s ItalyPosted Aug 8, 2013
Service was top notch - from private butler to supplying a bottle of prosecco and cake for my birthday.

A touch of class...Posted Jul 13, 2013
Pros: Great customer service and attention to detail
Cons: The price of food and drinks in the restaurant
Location: A good central location
From the moment we walked into the hotel we felt looked after; the staff understood the importance of great customer service and were always polite and keen to help. The rooms were large, clean and finished to a high standard. The hotel location was good, within walking distance of many tourist sights and close to the Metro station. The only negative point of the stay was the price of food and drinks in the hotel which were very very high, even for Rome!

Two fatidic nigths, no sleep because a hughe noise, trains, buses, cars, etc. Made the room bounce. Never again in this hotel.

a hotel from a bygone eraPosted Jun 27, 2013
Pros: The magnificent decor
Cons: The expensive food. Moderate food prices would encourage more people to enjoy the restaurant
Location: Great location
A magnificent hotel in a great position.Staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was quiet, large and beautifully decorated, and the marble en suite was a good size. Loved the antique decor and ambiance of the entire hotel. Breakfast in the hotel was very expensive ,so we found a very nice cafe in the arcade over the road.

Ok if you are over 50Posted Jun 12, 2013
Cons: Lack of attention to detail
Location: OLD, DATED, and most importantly TIRED
Beautiful OLD hotel, I felt it did not live up to the St. Regis Standard overall, No house car, No late night and especially no overnight hot food from room service. Didn't go to restaurant, but it also didn't look that interesting. Location is at the top of the hill where the aqueduct originated, but its not a very well working entrance... Dated property with lack of current bar program or anything attractive going on... Reminds me of the stuffy old Parlor in the San Francisco Fairmount, not in a good way either...

If money doesn't matter to you...here's your placePosted Jun 10, 2013
The St. Regis is the definition of luxury and the best in class. The front desk and concierge were outstanding and provided the best recommendations for what to do, how to get there and where to go. First class all the way. My only complaints are the lack of a basic necessity for traveling which is an iron; and secondly the restaurant in the hotel, while good, was dramatically OVERPRICED. $70 USD for a couple sandwiches, coffee and water is just flat out ridiculous. Lastly the hotel did provide an electric converter with adapter but it still ended up completely frying my wife's $120 hair straightener and the hotel staff simply said "sorry".

Superb hotel in a great locationPosted Jun 7, 2013
Pros: The staff, decor and room.
Cons: No irons available 'for fire safety reasons' - more likely so that you use the hotel's own laundry service!
Location: Perfect for exploring Rome on foot or using the Metro/mainline railways from the Termini station.
This hotel is a superb base to explore Rome. Everywhere is walkable, from the Trevi Fountain taking around 20 minutes to walk to, 30 to the Colosseum and the the Vatican taking around 45 minutes to get to on foot. The hotel itself is like walking into a time gone by with a lavish lobby and superbly attentive staff. The lobby is very grand and reminded us of our stay in the Waldorf Towers in NYC. Our Superior room was large, well-appointed and very clean and comfortable. The hotel's own restaurant is superb and provided us with the best meal of our 4-night stay. Would recommend this hotel greatly.
