Nice Hotel in a nice area along the Via Veneto.

Pros: The rooms were clean and the staff was polite and helpful.
Cons: Nothing, very nice.
Location: The hotel is very close to one of the ancient outer walls of Rome. It is along the wooded Via Veneto.
There are many good places to eat near the hotel and it was easy to get taxis whenever we needed one. Less than ten minutes from the train station and only a block away from the Hard Rock Cafe of Rome. Very close to a large park.

Westin hotel Rome

The hotel was lovely the staff very helpful and pleasant. The hotel was central so could walk to most of the sites of rome and beautiful gardens just five minutes away.

Room and location good, but...

Asked for tea and coffee facilities in room even though we asked, so every cup of tea cost 20 euro.

Due to the fact that by Italian law we cannot have coffee makers in the room we are now offering complimentary coffee at the restaurant entrance from 07.00am till 10.30am and soon will also offer one free cup of coffee per room per day that can be ordered via the room service. Could have been marvellous

Pros: Location, friendly staff, beautiful if a bit old fashioned grandeur.
Cons: Needs upgrading. The shower faucet was a bit clogged, a plug was not working. The worse was the theft: unreliable staff and no security system.
Location: Perfect location, near everything: Spanish steps, Piazza Navona, Fontana di Trevi etc and a very helpful concierge.
Very beautiful hotel, superbly situated, close to all the main sites, friendly and helpful staff. It could have been very good. However a tablet left on the bedside table to be recharged was stolen and so were 60 Euros. The staff helped us file a complaint and promised an investigation. But it left a bitter taste to what could have been an absolutely lovely stay!

Rome in a week.

Pros: Great hotel and even better staff.
Cons: Be able to purchase Vatican tickets and or train passes at the concierge desk.
Location: Next to Hard Rock and US Embassy.
We had a great time at the Westin Excelsior. First of all, it was a great location. We had a room with two twin beds and we have a small child. We requested a roll away bed and they set it up for no additional charge. It was the same with internet in the room. It was free in the lobby but the staff provided us with the code to obtain internet in the room.

Nice hotel 10 minute walk to metro

Pros: Beautiful reception area and pool and gym. Free Wifi in reception.Room very comfortable. More reasonable prices for cappuccino and breakfast close by!
Cons: Mixed feedback on concierge - some were very good but some of them just gave us incorrect information for example on how to get a Roma pass.
Location: Borghese park on doorstep, 15 minute walk trevi fountain, possible to walk to Spanish steps. We actually did walk back from colosseum with 8 year old!
We had an enjoyable trip. Good balance of seeing sights and enjoying the hotel facilities. The hotel had an amazing decor and grand reception area where it was great to chill out and have a drink or just browse the free wifi to decide on the next day's events. Swimming pool which was indoor is great but is small so if busy could imagine May not be as enjoyable. Warning for young kids -pool is 4ft deep all the way round so bring arm bands!

Tremendous disappointment

This Hotel Needs a major overhaul. The rooms felt dirty. I wonder the last time they shampooed the rugs. It is amazing that a Westin Hotel has such poor television in this day and age. They are looking to sell you movies instead of having some television shows other than the news. The quality of the food and the prices are outrageous. I have been going to the hotel for 40 years and I will never go back.

Nice hotel great location

Room was lovely, 5-10 mins from Spanish steps Breakfast was delicious, cappuccinos, hot chocolates no extra charge, freshly cooked omlettes. 22 euros per adult and 11 euros under 18s. Good value when you see the cost of other establishments to eat. With all the walking you need a good start yo day. I would definitely stay again. My two complaints would be that the pool is very small and the jacuzzi is linked to the pool so it is quite cool in temperature. I went in it once during my 4 night stay and never wanted to again. One of the reasons I booked this horel was so I could have a long soak on the jacuzzi after a days site seeing. The restaurants in Rome are very hit and miss some extortionate in price done dreadful good and I would if expected the hotel to recommend sone really nice establishments , sadly there choice was quite poor. Taxi tip, if you haven't been to Rome before the tacifier cost if set at 48 euros, so fin tier hotel book it for 160. Euros. When you arrive at the airport go to the taxi rank don't get a taxi inside from one of the touts try really overcharge.

Hotel in Rome centrally located

Pros: the location.
Cons: see above.
Location: Spanish steps and and shopping area are not far away. Also a nice bif park is close.
Location of the Hotel was good. However the price/value ratio was very disappointing. The Hotel is quite old. The quality of the Bed was bad, resulting in repetitive pain of our backs every morning and thereafter. The SPA was small, dirty and staff was pretty ignorant. Since the SPA was the main reason for picking this Hotel we were overoll disappointed.
