A Hidden Gem

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Room was spacious, clean and well styled, with a location ideal for sight-seeing. The owner couldn't have been more welcoming. Campo di Fiori at night is more geared to the 20 - something's but there are plenty of nearby alternatives, and a short walk will take you to charming Trastevere.

Excellent location

Pros: location
Cons: I would have liked a lighter room all the photos are clearly of the best room with a large window.
Location: 20 mins walk from The Colosseum, Vatican and other main sites. 10 mins walk from bustling Piazza Navona. Great choice of cafes, shops etc.
Room at the back was dark with a tiny window. Condition of the room/bathroom ok. You are definitely paying for the location which is just off a bustling square with a market and lots of bars/restaurants within easy walking distance of all major attractions. Anna was very helpful with booking cabs and giving us her number should we need any help. We were able to leave our bags on the last day until we left. If you can get a deal and want location as priority then this is a good option.

Close to port

Pros: I liked that I didn't have to worry about transportation or dragging my bags on a bus or train.
Location: Everything in Italy is a 10 minute walk. Well, I don't believe that anymore. We walked to the water front and restaurants. All you need before cruise
We went in the day before our cruise. The hotel arranged for pickup at FCO for a fee, but the shuttle to the ship was free. We went to a restaurant recommended by the hotel and were very pleased. Everyone was very friendly and it was nice after a long flight.

Great location

Pros: Location and helpful staff.
Cons: Directions and there is no mention of the "town house" on the front door.
Location: All major points of interest are within walking distance.
Looking for hotel that was good value for money and good location to walk to main attractions. This B and B provided both.

Very convenient location. Nice, clean and updated. Signore Paolo, (owner/manager), a very professional and educated gentleman. Reasonable price. A pleasure to stay. We'll be back. Thanks, G & H Ricciardi

Great place, very central with lots of character

Posted Sep 12, 2012
Pros: The central location and the atmosphere in the piazza.
Cons: The only thing which we could critise is that there is no fridge, so you aren't able to keep any drinks cool.
Location: No more than 25 mins walk to most places, good busses and trams. Taxi to Termini station is about 10 Euros.
The hotel is in such a great location. All the major sights are within a 25 minute walk! The Campo di' Fiori Piazza is busy at all times of the day and night which makes for a great atmosphere in the area. The restaurants and bars nearby are also good fun. We found the hotel great - it was everything we were after. We were able to come and go as we pleased and because it's not a conventional hotel with a manned reception desk, it felt a bit like it was our own house. Paulo came to meet us the night we checked in and was absolutely lovely. He explained how the breakfast worked, times the cleaner would be in and gave us tips and suggestions on good places to go and eat. He said that we were guests in his city and he wanted us to have the best time and not to go to the tourist traps because they were a rip off. His suggestions were great and took us to different corners of Rome that we wouldn't have gone to otherwise. He really made us feel welcome and gave us his number if we needed anything else and then just left us to it. I don't think this approach is what everyone is after but it was great for us. The breakfast is at a little cafe round the corner from the hotel. You get a voucher for breakfast in the morning which gives you a croissant or danish pastry, small orange juice and a coffee. If you want anything else, you need to pay for it, but there is a market right there which sells bits and pieces if you are still hungry.

Left in the dark

Pros: Central
Cons: Poor condition and facilities, central light not working, TV not working and whats with the laundry trough adjacent to the bed!
Despite having read previous revues, and not expecting much, I was a bit disappointed for the money it cost. Having said that, it was very central, so that made up for it.
