“Acceptable”
Booked 9 nights prepaid hotel and airfare from NJ through Expedia. Hotel was in good location 5 minute walk to main train station and subway. Our room was clean, recently renovated with tiny bathroom. Room had mini safe in closet. AC automatically shut off so we had keep window open but it was fairly noisy at night. Even though their website cited free wifi in public area and we showed staff at desk, there is a per day charge. Internet in room did not work and through their tv was phathetic, so dont count on easy access to internet. If you want to use the spa facilities such as hot tub, additonal charges apply. We arrrived 10.30 and had to wait til 1pm for check in, they had early check-in & lunch for additional charge for 35 euros. Good hotel but dont expect anything extra without a charge associated with it.
“DO NOT RECOMEND”
Air condition was not working in several rooms and they didn't have a solution. Spent 4 nights. DO NOT RECOMEND!!!!!!
“Excellent location”
This hotel is within walking distance to the Termini Station and to all the important monuments (Colisum, Roman forums, Tivoli etc). The proximity to Termini is convenient because all the buses and metro stations are located there. The hotel is clean and people are friendly. The buffet (breakfast) could be improved . Overall, I would recommend it!
“Great hotel and staff”
Loved the location near the train station. It made it really easy to get around.
“Staff quality, very poor.”
The first impression of the hotels appearances is very good. As things progressed I realised that we had made a big mistake with the choice of this particular hotel. We had a one night stay after 5 nights in the Trevi Rome. The Front of house staff offered a very poor quality of service. we paid € 50.00 for a late check-out. We requested a twin bedded room; the room provided to us had a double bed. Eventually housekeeping arrived to change the bed format. As this was being done we left the room. Upon our return the bed had been separated into 2, both the beds where covered with a bedspread, however underneath no sheets. After many calls and visits to reception, housekeeping arrived at 12.15 AM and handed us the sheets for us to make the beds. The next morning we receive an abrupt call at 11AM to ask why we have not checked out. I explained that we had paid the late fee, and that we had arrange to check out at 3PM. They said they had no record of this and we must leave the room. Once again after many visits to reception, and speaking to the hotel manager the situation was rectified; the guy that checked us in forgot to make a note. Once again the quality of service when dealing with this issue was very poor, no apologies offered for their mistake. These are not big issues if they are dealt with correctly, but being made to feel that “you” are the one causing the staff unnecessary inconvenience, shows extremely poor customer care and bad management of staff! GIVE IT A MISS!
“OK Hotel”
The only problem I had with this hotel was with the front-room help. First the desk clerk told us we had to wait to be checked in and then proceeded to check in others who came after us. He spent a great deal of time describing and trying to sell guided tours to people who arrived after us, ignoring us and leaving us sitting there until we finally re-approached the desk to be checked in. At that point, the doorman, who had been so attentive to the pretty young things who came in after us, ignored this 76 year old struggling with her suitcase until she was half-way up the stairs to the elevator.
“Rome 2011 Review”
The hotel was nice. We stayed twice, at the beginning and end of our trip. We stayed with 4 people. Two adults and two teenagers. The first "suite" had a separate LR with a twin bed and was nice. The only issues were the AC didn't really work well and the boys had to walk thru our room to the bathroom. The 2nd "suite was really one large room. This had a jacquizzi tub and shower. The issue here was there was no shower curtain so when we showered, the floor was soaked. Also, we were on the 1st floor facing the street and it was very noisy. The staff were all very friendly. It was about a 5 minute walk to the Republica train station and almost every bus in Rome stops near the hotel since it is near the Termini train station. This was very convenient when we came back to Rome from Venice. We literally walked 5 minutes from the station to the hotel with all our bags. The hotel is about 10 minutes walking to Santa Maria Maggiore Basillica and 20 minutes walking to the Colosseum. Both easy walks. The hotel includes breakfast but it is "English" breakfast, not "American" breakfast. Once you get past that it's alright. The staff helped arrange car services for us which we appreciated. The staff readily admitted that they have problems with the AC systems and the TV systems. The buttons to change the languages of the programs didn't work. There is a nice Italian restaurant down the block from the hotel that we ate at several times.
“Great value”
Staff is courteous and friendly. They can easily give you directions and pointers on where to go and what to see. The front desk staff speaks many languages, including Portuguese which was perfect. The room was quite small and there was no free wi-fi but very clean. It's on a side street so it's quiet. Breakfast was good if you choose cappuccino (the coffee is awful-but hey, it's Italy) and you must go early enough to get croissants (later, the bread was not fresh). The location is great: one block from Termini station (where you'll end up if you come from the Fiumicino airport) and all the buses/metro so you can easily get around town and 1/2block from the Piazza de la Republica. Oh yeah and it has 2 elevators (which if you've spent some time in Italy, you know it's a rare commodity for 3 star hotels).
“Great Hotel!”
Conveniently located right next to the train station. Hotel staff was extremely helpful.
“good value”
I use the Piram when in Rome for business. It is a short walk from the train station, so well connected to the airport, not needing to depend on a taxi that may get caught up in traffic. it is central to where I conduct business in Rome. the breakfast is ok, nothing to write home about. is simply good value for a short business stay. when I stay longer in Rome I go to the historic center. I would not recommend Piram for people who are coming to Rome for vacation to see the historic center. there is no equal to being able to walk out of your hotel and being where the action is. from Piram you have to taxi or bus to that area. so if you are coming to Rome to enjoy the charm of the historical center, find a hotel in the historical center. Piram is not it
