Excellent value in Trastevere.Posted Oct 31, 2013
We stayed here our last night before flying home and I am so glad we did. The front desk staff were extremely helpful in phoning the car rental on my behalf and them suggesting an amazing restaurant for dinner. We walked to the restaurant and then through the streets of Trastevere and had a wonderful evening. It was excellent value and I would definitely stay here again.

Nice hotel off the beaten path of RomePosted Oct 18, 2013
Pros: Nicely decorated. Good a/c. Nice bathroom. Breakfast was very good.
Cons: Internet was limited and not very strong.
We indulged a bit for our last two nights of vacation, and this place was a good choice.

Weekend city break with infant.Posted Oct 13, 2013
Pros: Good breakfast with friendly staff.
Cons: Update the bedrooms! - Stark, poor decoration, dated appliances, although all generally clean and tidy.
Location: Convenient location for the Sunday market, access to the number 8 tram, not to mention some good cafes and restaurants along the Via De San Francesco.
A fleeting first trip to Rome with a ten month old! Packed it all in and managed to walk around everywhere to see all the sights, sample the coffees and restaurants.

Disappointing in every aspect..Posted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: the location
Cons: Staff, room comfort, WIFI 'facilities',cleanliness, if you advertise double beds purchase some!
From the moment we arrived, our stay can only be described as disappointing... The Staff at front desk are by far the worst offenders at this hotel. Beyond rude, unhelpful, dismissive and the exact opposite of what is anybody within the hospitality or any customer service industry needs to be. The rooms was tired, bare and we had to literally help ourselves a new cake of soap each day from the trolleys constantly left unattended in the middle of the hotel hallways. Although, not wanting to critize the only staff who were polite, friendly and who take the tie to acknowledge our presence-unlike the reception staff nor the dining room staff. One towel per person, a pitiful cake of soap provided for the entire staff and two single beds pushed together that ensured a great gaping hole inbetween my husband and I were not what we had signed up for. In fact, that description is better suited to the local jail.. I would definately stay in the area again, the location was ideal but would deter anybody from staying at this hotel. One last note, the WIFI that we practically had to beg front desk staff for information about was pathetic and you had to re-sign in via an external website every.single.time... Not ideal on holidays and especially as it meant you had to spend longer in these sad rooms..

Good hotel.Posted Oct 5, 2013
The Ripa is situated in an ideal location. Just 15 mins out from Rome centre or a few minutes on the tram. Local restaurants are just 5 mins walk away in Trastevere. This is our second visit to Rome and if I ever return I will have no hesitation in going back to the RIpa.

DifferentPosted Sep 18, 2013
Pros: Breakfast was excellent; it was clean; staff were generally helpful and friendly; it is a bit 'quirky'.
Cons: Décor, new mattresses on the beds and a sofa, with the tv in the lounge area rather than the bedroom space.
Location: Lots of great cafes a short walk away, and close to tram lines for sightseeing in Rome.
My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights in September '13 - we were celebrating a special anniversary. We did not choose this hotel but it was part of a deal where you choose an area and quality of accommodation and Expedia give you the hotel; a kind of pot luck arrangement. We were comfortable but a bit frustrated by things which could have made our stay much nicer. Surprisingly, our room had a kitchenette and dining table with 2 dining chairs (great, except there was no crockery, cutlery, cooking things or tea towels so we could not use it). There was one easy chair - but there were 2 of us, so a settee or another chair and perhaps a coffee table would have been appreciated! The bed was in a smaller bedroom space which was separated from the living area, so I suspect the hotel was once a block of flats. We were comfortable but would have liked a few touches of colour- maybe a picture or two on the walls? Our room was a bit shabby - one of the curtains was hanging off the rail, the paintwork needed a fresh coat, but it was clean and we slept well, which was good. It was once a modern hotel but no longer! Tea and coffee was provided, but there was no milk so we were not able to enjoy a cup of tea in the morning (we asked at reception if they could supply some but they are obviously not used to the British way of drinking tea or coffee with milk, because they were surprised by the request and did not provide any).

clean hotel and room, located in a safe area.Posted Sep 17, 2013
Pros: It is quite, pleasant, clean, and the staff are welcoming and helpful.
Cons: The towels are clean but could be a bit fresher.
Location: The hotel is close to everything in Rome, few minutes bus ride to anywhere.
The staff are very pleasant, we enjoyed the stay, the bus stop is very close, everything about this hotel is great, especially the wonderful breakfast.

World Hotel Ripa, RomePosted Sep 15, 2013
Had a very positive experience at this hotel, we were able to check in early and the staff were all very friendly. Rooms were also kept very clean. One small criticism would be that tables in the breakfast room were not always cleared quickly and there was no where to get clean cutlery. Overal the food provided as part of the breakfast buffet was very good. The location was also really good, near the beautiful Trastevere, which has an excellent night time atmosphere, but is also secluded enough to be away from the noise. Also good proximity to trams and buses, but we were able to reach the Coliseum and the Vatican on foot. Would definitely recommend the hotel to a friend.

very, very disappointed - avoid it!Posted Sep 13, 2013
Booked superior room. Arrived at 22.45 - lobby smelled of cigarette smoke - staff in the back office were smoking. Asked for something to eat/room service - been told I was too late, no attempt to be helpful or suggest any alternative, went to bed without supper (only a bag of peanuts in the room fridge!). The room was COMPLETELY upholstered - the bead head, floor, wall lamps, tables, fridge, TV stand, etc.. the stuff was everywhere and it was very dusty. The following day I asked reception to sanitise the room - I am allergic to dust and had been unwell - they suggested to upgrade me - for an additional fee. Nothing was done to my room (dust was even on the coat hangers!). I was expecting a business call - reception twice responded that I was not registered in the hotel. When I asked, they claimed 'they did not understand my name' (which is half Italian and half English and was spoken by an English person). The deco is VERY tired and in the room and bathroom it is even scruffier - bearing in mind I had a SUPERIOR room!! Staff not particularly helpful; breakfast had some choice but poor quality (starting from coffee and orange juice) - very little fresh fruit. All in all, very poor.
