"Very comfortable, an oasis of calm."
We chose the hotel because it was away from the city centre. This did restrict evening excursions and there is absolutely nothing in the vicinity other than the hotel bar and a supermarket but we were so tired after sightseeing all day it wasn't an issue for us. Lovely outdoor pool. The daily shuttle bus into the city was a real bonus and nothing was ever too much trouble for the staff. The room was spotless, comfortable and cleaned regularly. The inclusive breakfast offered good choice. There were conferences and training courses going on at the time, clearly used by people on business

Aurora Garden Hotel

"A Lovely Aurora"
Aurora Gardens Hotel was located within a bus (343 - 344) and tube (Rebbibia to Termini) ride of Central Rome. The tube would actually take you to the Colosseum station if you stopped on but connections were often easy and there was no more waiting than 9 minutes. The bus's were frequent and went through the heart of Italian life. The tube and bus's were often full and it was a case of 'Everyone for themselves' to get on. There are no orderly cue's in Italy. It didn't all look like an Italy you may imagine but being away from the major 'Tourist' hotels gave you a better idea of life in 'Italy'. The locals were never un-friendly and never caused any reason to be concerned - Italians do tend to stare at you - but they do this to all and it can feel a little uncomfortable until you relise they meaning nothing by it. The Hotel reception area were very helpful in matters that you would approach them with. (Although they didn't tell us there was a transport strike on one of our days! oops). The reception areas were covered by people whom spoke English which was very refreshing as most Italians in Rome have not learnt the English. As one receptionist told me "Why would we know English, we are Italian?". (English is multi-national language, Rome lives on Tourism). The people at the hotel were very friendly and approachable, as were the other staff. Breakfast was self service and there was plenty until greedy other guests got there. Would I stay at this hotel again? Deffo. Yes I Would.

"4 days in rome"
Hotel was excellent, approx 200 yards from Trevi fountain, and at the wifes pace only 30 mins walk to Vartican, 25 to Forum. Great for a base as central so could keep popping back for a rest in the air con room. Staff were friendly and room was cleaned each day. Room had a safe too. Breakfast was ok, nothing special but catered for our needs. Only down side is no coffee/tea making facility in the room. Was able to leave bags at hotel on departure day which was good. We took a tax to airport at the end of tri[, Campino is only euro 30 as advertised on the cabs, although the ride can be a bit like a roller coaster depending on the driver. All in all a good hotel and would go back there if ever in Rome again.

"Great hotel near Roman Forum"
This is a fantastic hotel with an ideal location. It is across the street from the major entrance to the Roman Forum and just outside the front door of the hotel there are three great outdoor restaurants. The hotel is undergoing a bit of renovation - apparently combining it with the hotel next door. My hotel room was fine. Both the room and the shower were not large, but they both worked out well. The bathroom was modern and in excellent shape, as was the bedroom. But the room's air conditioner was outstanding. It was quiet and powerful - the best I have ever seen for a room air conditioner, and I used to travel for the UN. The breakfast area is an open-area on the top floor. It serves a nice selection of food and drinks for breakfast. All the staff are friendly and helpful. The TV had more stations than I could count - although only one (CNN) was in English all the time.

The hotel staff was helpful and friendly. They provide a great buffet breakfast. Room was very spacious. Nice size bed in master with living room pull out couch. Mini kitchen and stocked mini fridge. Opposite hotel was good gelateria. Down the block great sandwich shop. Around the corner from supermarket. Close to Spanish Steps & Trevi Fountain. Modern & tasteful decor was really nice! We have spent in this hotel just 1 night. It was very clean and spacious. We had full breakfast which was included. There is a swimming pool and a restaurant in which we had tasty dinner. This hotel is 15 minutes from the airport and about 30 minutes from Rome. This hotel has met all our expectations. After 12 days of travel through Italy and France and 8 days in Poland it was very relaxing place to be before we flew to USA.

Book your hotels in Rome closest to your favorite landmark and you get to see it every day as you head out to discover the city. While the impulse to rush from sight to sight is understandable, don’t sell yourself—or the city—short. Some of your best discoveries in Rome will be those you happen upon by accident; ducking into an ancient church on a side street housing a masterpiece of sacred art, stumbling upon an expansive piazza in the early morning light, and sampling the best pizza that you’ve ever tasted in your life. Get a taste of Rome’s surroundings and get a rental car in Rome to drive to the outskirts as the greater area around Rome has much to offer, too.

Rome is the Eternal City, so approach it as if you have all the time in the world to explore. There's no need to cram everything into one visit as you'll soon fall under the city's spell, and return again and again. 'La Dolce Vita'

If you're searching for the good life, all roads lead to Rome. The city is a dizzying combination of cosmopolitan capital and ancient wonderland. The home of Catholicism, it also plays host to nightclubs that stay open until dawn.

One of the most iconic images of the city comes from the filmmaker Federico Fellini, one of Rome's most adoring fans. In La Dolce Vita (The Sweet Life), Anita Ekberg frolics in the beautiful Trevi fountain after a long night's revelry. The scene is spontaneous, sexy, carefree, and a little crazy, reflecting Rome itself and the visceral impact it has on visitors. Try a romantic cruise down the Tiber River or watch the world go by from a Trastevere café and you too will believe life can't get any sweeter.

    Big city charms

Rome is situated in the middle of Italy, the perfect position for the country’s capital. In some respects, however, it is set apart from the rest of the country and has a personality all of its own. Hotels in Rome, Italy are as diverse and charming as the city itself.

Rome is as much about frenetic traffic as chilling over cappuccino, appreciating art as appreciating gelato on a hot summer day. Hit the museums (the Vatican Museums are extraordinary, as are the Capitoline Museums and a litany of others), but then slow down and stroll through Villa Borghese, a large park well loved for picnics (and its museum the Borghese Gallery).

Find your favorite neighborhood and come again to stay in your desired Rome hotels to enjoy a bit of dolce vita. With its culture, art, food, and wine, a Roman holiday is like no other, distilling all that can be enjoyed in life.
